I played in a game with a role like this once and it was really neat. The player had limited influence over the game and how it went. (Call of Cthullu, if you're interested, probably spelled wrong. Look in my wiki.)

I really really think this belongs in the worst roles thread rather then best roles thread.

How do you see this role improving the game?

It punishes optimal scumplay (kill good players / use kills to shape discussion) and ruins the Dead QT (which are quite interesting normally).
Routine day with a dirt cheap brush
Then a week goes by and it goes untouched
Then two, then three, then a month
Then the rest of your life, you beat yourself up

The role (though different than this) was really good when I played with something like it. It made the living players still get some influence in the game and it was really interested. (The players were pre-warned things in the dead thread might make it back to the game.) Scum lied and insisted they were town; (some scumflips WERE town), and everyone posted up a storm trying to influence the medium (other role name)'s 2 or 3 shot voting ability.

The medium knows who's town based off the flips unless the game included deathmillers in which case I hate you, the game, the mod, the person who reviewed the game and Chamber.

- Each night you may target one player. If that player is the target of a kill, they are saved and you die in their place. If you successfully block a kill, and die, the mod will post your target's name in the thread the next morning.

I agree that if there were two dead QTs the role would be cool and probably fun, the fact that there are 2 dead QTs is a slippery slope asking for people to say something in the wrong QT.

I just thought of this and it has some interesting applications.

. You are in multiple mafia groups. Your Buddies in Mafia Group A are XXXX. Your Buddies in Mafia Group B are ZZZZ. You win the game if you are the last player alive or nothing can be done to prevent this. Good Luck


Other good name suggestions: Double Agent Goon, Grand Usurper, other... anyone?

  • While you are alive, you are a normal Vanilla Townie.
  • Your job at night is to get a good night sleep.
  • Once you are killed, you may still post, vote, and at night, kill.
  • When you acquire your killing ability, you are allotted 2 kills to use for the rest of the game.
  • Once you have used both kills, and haunted the other players, you then lie in piece in your grave. You may not post, vote, or kill any longer.
  • You win when all Mafia have been eliminated, whether you survive to the end or not.

Rogue Assassination Droid
. Your goal is to survive until the end of the game.

  • The other players know that you exist, but not your identity.
  • Your programming gives you limited autonomy. You must attempt to kill one player each Night. If you have been given assassination orders, you must select your target from among those players you have been ordered to kill.
  • Players may attempt to give you orders by telling the Mod via PM the name of the player they suspect is the Rogue Assassination Droid and the name of the player they wish to have assassinated. Players are aware of all assassination orders they have been given and who gave them.
  • Each player may only order you to kill one living player at a time. If a player gives you orders to kill a different player, you replace the original target with the new target. Multiple players may give you orders to kill the same target.
