What is/are your favourite queues to sign up for and why?

Probably newbie queue, but the SE list is often full.
I enjoy the more relaxed and less tryhardy atmosphere you often find in those games. Also it's nice to meet new players.
Norwe is spontaneous, has a stream-of-consciouness posting style, usually posts on catch-ups by commenting on past pages posts, gets rather fired up in certain moments in games, is relatively as playful as me in games and likes casual shitposting

I like most of the queues really because they all have their pros and cons.
However, I tend to sign up for games in the Open Queue because I enjoy the knowledge that I know all the roles in the game (or at least the roles which could exist).
Regarding the Micro Queue, it is because I enjoy the smaller player size.

Replacements are essential and skipping game start is nice.

I mostly use replacement queue when there's an ongoing game i can immediately jump into rather than needing to wait for a game in other queues to fill.

Yeah not waiting for a queue to fill is great too.

I think large theme queue offers some of the coolest setups, but the number of players can make the game hard to manage at times.

Open has best setups/PLs normally, large themes are coolest, and normal queue should be put away in a box in the back of the wardrobe and forgotten about until NRG decide to start rebalancing towards scum

Can I get a citation on which games you believe are sufficiently townsided to merit throwing the NRG into the garbage bin

The last time I was regularly playing normals the standard balance was very townsided — that may have changed in the last 8-10 months or whatever it’s been but given that the metric being used is still just scum vs town win% I’m doubtful

Also I didn’t say the NRG should go in the garbage bin, I said the normal queue should until NRG start making things more scumsided

And just take any of the last 5 mini normals I played in or whatever

I am what you'd call lazy and currently enjoying a nice walk, if you can link me them I'll take a look at them.

I like normals! Balance aside, they were my first experience on the site and I think they represent a really good balance of the various skills required to play mafia. Larges are the hype games that get nominated for scummies and people talk about for weeks after, but that's usually because there was like 20 pages of cool content in 2000 pages of misery. large themes *are* very cool but they do seem like the epitome of quantity over quality. I like the smaller large themes the best and larger mini-themes hit the sweet spot for me.

Simple opens that have light themes like a number of northsidegal's games have been the most memorable for me.

but mostly any of the queues can have a good game? I stay away from the newbie queue unless it needs replacements usually because it's so backed up with SEs anyway. I tend to just sign up for whatever has a good player list, a good mod, or a good setup (or any combination thereof)

Oh, Large Themes for sure. They last for longer, they have better pacing overall, they have more people to interact with, they have a larger playerbase, they have more variety, and they have the most mechanics/roles that are interesting.

Close second is Mini Themes tho.
