Should the moderator ever lie to the players? I'm on the opinion that the mod should be allowed to lie as much as they like under the condition that the players knows that a specific lie can occur before the game starts, Eg. Being told that millers and godfathers can be in the game, being told cops can be insane,

Ethics?: Trusting the Mod part 2
This is where I come back to a subject from this thread

I'm on the opinion that the mod should be allowed to lie as much as they like under the condition that the players knows that a specific lie can occur before the game starts, Eg. Being told that millers and godfathers can be in the game, being told cops can be insane,or telling the players everything said in green will always be trueLast edited by Sterling the steampunk on Fri Nov 18, 2022 2:26 pm, edited 1 time in total.- Ircher

they're lies you can expect at least
bastard lies are telling someone something in their own role that is not true. So inverse cop (ftr insane cop is an outdated term on this site) would be bastard, or having someone actually be a survivor but telling them they're something else<Embrace The Void>

Results interference (e.g. Miller, Godfather, Ninja, Gravedigger) is well known as a countermeasure to investigative roles, and Miller and Ninja are even Normal roles. Results interference is an ability that interferes with results PMs, so it isn't game mechanically a lie even though it is a lie according to most people.
Arbitrary results interference (e.g. Framer, Lawyer, Tailor) is when results interference is no longer a result of the target's role, but someone else's role. Arbitrary results interference feels like it is in a grey area between not bastard and bastard. Arbitrary results interference is theoretically not bastard as with perfect knowledge of the setup your results PMs make sense assuming all role PMs are true, though a game with a lot of arbitrary results interference is very confusing.
Inverse Cop is bastard as it results from a lie in the role PM. It is not expected for there to be lies in the role PM.time will end- Sterling the steampunk

I thought insane and inverse cops are different things, what I thought insane cops get random results, and inverse cops get good results on scum and scum results and goodIn post 3, Gamma Emerald wrote:they're lies you can expect at least
