Well the best N1 shot was Jumble after the slip, but alas, the scumteam didn't notice it.

I agree that vulcan should've made the N2 kill, but I think the scumteam took the "Leaven was jailkept" poorly too. I mean, ok, you made a mistake and Leaven made the shot instead of vulcan, and now we now Leaven was jailkept... There are at least two ways to create WIFOM shit: fakeclaim Doctor, talk about Jumble being roleblocked and Leaven protected Jumble; or fakeclaim tracker and convince people that the rolecop probably targeted him on N1 and thought that killing an unclaimed tracker was a better idea than a claimed JK 'cause of reasons (reasons like "we would be on D3 LyLo and scum could go out and fakeclaim Doctor after the Tracker's flip and 1v1 the Jailkeeper who happens to be mislynchable")

I thought Menace was doing to me what I was doing to Una which I'll admit did give me a bit of salt going into d2. I really really hate the fact we actually lynched him though. Another re-read of Strawb+his ISO after his reaction to pressure would have had him at obvtown status. I hope Menace sticks around (and hope strawb comes back!)

I was mainly trying to add pressure to you in the game - if I had REALLY PUT THE EFFORT IN THAT THIS GAME DESERVED, I might have been more certain on vulcan.
I failed us all as an IC this game, but I'm very happy and proud of you three for solving it in the end!
And Jumble for that excellent JK-work - kudos!

There are many strategies with which people approach the game, Jumble. As town, you generally want to help your fellow townies in the scumhunting effort and do your best to be open and forthright in your play so that others read you as town. That's one way, anyway. Some people prefer to remain a null read, though (to avoid being targeted as a night kill). If you're scum... well, that's pretty unlucky for you to roll scum your very first game. God help you.

I'm willing to give you something of the benefit of the doubt because I know how daunting this game can be as a first-time player, but keep in mind that it is in your best interests as town to answer questions directed at you and to not get defensive at votes and/or wagons formed against you. Keep in mind that town is going to be suspicious of you until you are somehow vetted during the course of the game. It's the nature of the beast.

I'm actually suspicious of Jumble too. The worst seemed to read Jumble as too scummy to be scum but, as it stands, I see two ways to interpret their behavior...

1) At face value. Being their first game, not knowing exactly what to say/do. Being more worried about 2 votes already on them then they ought to be because of an unfamiliarity with game mechanics.

2) Rolled scum, and actually troubled by the two votes. He

come across as genuinely nervous, somewhat hostile, and closed off.

Well, I am a bit unfamilliar with the game mechanics. And you would be correct in saying I’m closed off. But somewhat hostile? Where is that coming from?

So from my point of view town power roles:-
1. Don't like being voted.
2. Try to play it safe (they have to not be lynched and also be inoffensive enough not to be night killed)
3. Semi ironically--can afford to have a bit of a "comfortable in their own skin" approach. if they DO get wagoned they have the claim up their sleeve to confirm themselves as town!

On day 1 I got this feeling from you throughout the quoted post in particular. Hence why I started to passively townread your slot later in the day and steer the lynch elsewhere!

I got similar vibes from Una late in d1 which suggested he was either:
- a power role OR
- VT faking power role to eat the night kill

Hence I kept talking about running him up D2 so he might survive the night! but his gambit worked too well!

And yes as Archwing said, that last post was a bit "TMI" on the existence of a jailkeeper. Theory questions are always fine but often if they're pointed like that, it suggests knowing more about the setup than a normal vanilla townie would!
