Sorry for the late confirm, I wasn't expecting the game to start so quickly.

As for the questions...
1) Have you played mafia before (on MS, another site, IRC etc.)?
I played a newbie game on here before that ended in a mafia victory (I was a town jail keeper). It wasn't so bad, given how I managed to guess the scum team correctly, even though they still got me lynched.

I've recently been modded in the mafia sub-forum of another forum, and played something like 30 games there since last August, too. Sometimes I play it with my friends in real life, also.
2) How often can we expect to hear from you (At least once per day is a good baseline) and what timezone are you?
Once a day, sometimes a little more, except on Tuesdays. There's always the chance that I can access the site from my iPod using my school's wifi, but don't be surprised if I can't.

Awesome. First off Im doing this: VOTE: asher1611 ( Again dude, we want to see the rainbow gold!)

And then I have some random questions

Q1) Do you have any experience with mafia games ( This site or others)
Q2) What time zone are you in?

1. This will be my second game on the site. My first was Newbie 1221 and I am also currently playing in Newbie 1235. Other than those games I also have a lot of experience playing the Starcraft 2 mafia custom game. That game is however very fast paced and people will lynch you in the blink of an eye. Here you can use your brains =).
2. I am Dutch so the European time zone is what im used to.
3. Expect a lot of posts from me, I tend to be active. I also have a nasty habit of leaving my tabs open so you will probably see me looking at the board quite a lot.
4. I think every role is awesome to play, while its a vanilla towny, scum or a 3th party. You have to play smart every time, use your brains and keep on top of things. Its one of the reasons I love this game! If id had to choose tough, I would like to play a 3th party once, like a serial killer. I like that you would have to manouver between the two big factions and keep a low profile in the meantime.
5. Lurking is in my eyes anti town. The only thing that helps town is posting, a lot. When you actively lurk you don't do that and basically keep information from the town. Also the information that you are town! As for liars, I think that should be handled in a case to case basis but often its anti town.

4) I'm sorta indifferent to each role now. I think scum is less satisfying at the endgame since a lot of townies get annoyed as for some reason they feel that they have the right to win each game. Scum can be quite fun if you enjoy manipulating though. Sadly the curse of the overworked student usually means I'm the one being exploited

5) Lurking is anti-town. Let's not do it shall we? It's scum who have reason to hide. I don't want to see townies do it at all. As for lying It's certainly case by case but if you lie about your role as a townie then you could easily mess up the game for town. Let's not even go there

My town survival rate is pretty craptastic (14%, lolol), so I have a big affinity for the bulletproof role, or doctor when I can protect myself.

My best games as mafia were often when I was a role checker, so I have a certain fondness for that one, especially since I get it relatively often. Same goes for godfather.

Q5) How do you guys feel about lurkers or liars?
They're anti-town but I can't say that I never lurk. Sometimes I just have no idea of what I could say to contribute to the conversation/debate/accusations, but I still do my best to get a few posts in whenever I can. Liars... it's a case-by-case basis, but I've had bad experiences with them. A gambit involving a lie from a townie can turn out to be really catastrophic.

I have one completed game on this site and one game I am currently in on this site. I have played many other mafia games on other private forums and in real life settings.

Eastern USA.

Hopefully at least once per day, more if it gets heated.

Vanilla townie because it forces me to work to get info instead of having a bunch of it sitting in front of me. Contributing to wins as a VT is the most satisfying (because it can be so damn hard)

Q5) How do you guys feel about lurkers or liars?

Do not like lurkers, but it isn't always a scumtell. Do not like liars. On the rare occasion it can be a smart town play, but usually it backfires and puts the town in a weaker position than it otherwise would have been. That said, I find honest scum more dangerous than lying scum even if scum have a requirement to at least twist the truth to achieve their objectives..

Questions 1-3 I've already answered, but I'll recap: this is my first online game, I'm aiming to post once a day, and I'm on Pacific Daylight Time.

4. This is my first game, so I don't know yet what role I'll enjoy playing most.

5. Lurking is anti-town, because it reduces the amount and quality of information available to town. Lying is usually anti-town, and for the same reason, but there seem to be a few cases where it's pro-town to lie.

And, speaking of lurkers, of all the players who have posted, Llud has posted the least. He only gave us the absolute minimum necessary for confirmation, even though the rest of the confirmed players have been chatting. Come on, Llud, the game has started. Say something.
