Skimming through the mafia PT (and also having followed this game from the start for meta purposes), I'd entirely argue the scumteam deserves this win if it weren't for NSG's endgame play. They got fucked by bad night actions, TWICE. They got the lynches they needed to win, but given the claims, NSG just needed to spew herself as town in order to win the LyLo.

So hats off to the mafia team which, on average, played significantly better than the town average.

I mentioned this in the dead thread, and Scioness optimal play really would've been to block the doctor and kill the jailkeeper.

In the case that Inferno actually blocked Scioness, the kill wouldn't go through and Scioness could've just argued that scum no-killed. She could very well get profii lynched doing this.

And in the case that Inferno decides to block elsewhere, Scioness just has to argue "Oh well, Inferno said he'd block me and the kill went through on him, so profii or NSG is the scum".

Good play by scum here, don't let it get you down this play would've won in the majority of similar games and was still a really good showing imo

Definitely. Scumteam ruled the day and played fantastically in a strategic sense. It was in a tactical nightplay sense that they lost it.

And let's be honest, doc/jailkeeper is pretty great for town.

yeah. echoing everyone elses thoughts here. Props to NSG for obvtowning at the end. She played well and so did the scumteam. I haven't read the scum thread yet, but the sheer volume of posts is impressive and no doubt helped them navigate the early game.

I think the decision to modkill for that infraction over rerolling is wrong and pretty unfair to the newbies. I think we were fortunate to have such a great game when this could have pretty easily turned into quick town loss. Other than disagreeing about the handling of the modkill, I think Wheme did a super job, so thank you for the game wheme.

If any newbies have questions about how things played out or would like advice on something specific, let me know and I'll do my best to answer. I wasn't fully engaged after my lynch, but I did read everything for the most part.

Hope everyone enjoyed the game. Looking forward to seeing you all around in the future.

Yeah I'm pretty sure that player quit the site. She was talking in sitechat about how playing the game even works, what to do, etc etc. Said something like "ohhh I just found my role PM, looks like I'm a vanilla townie, thanks guys!"

Hour later she gets modkilled, comes back and is like "WTF I GOT MODKILLED, WHY" so she clearly didn't understand how any of this worked. Given that she did it before even posting in the thread, reroll was clearly in order imo.

Jesus, scumteam got fucked at night a whopping three times. Once was 100% fair to make up for the modkill, but three times is just ridiculous. This was their game.

Yeah mod kill was a real shame. Truthfully I didn't even think about a reroll.

Also I'm nowhere near a good player but I think scum played great even though they lost

Thanks Micc for the props but I feel like I could of been more active this game

Yeah, its hard to publicly punish someone for genuinely not knowing what they are doing and expect them stick around as a member of the site. Then you consider that 5 other newbies get stuck playing in a game that isn't really a good representation of games on this site, and its probably best to just re-roll. While it isn't always the best solution, it is a solution that I think should be used more often, and I've definitely regretted not using it as a moderator on a couple of occasions.
