1. If you feel that a situation requires moderator intervention, PM me.
2. Toxicity will not be tolerated. Toxic behaviour includes, but is not necessarily limited to:
- flaming
- personal attacks
- use of slurs or derogatory language
- spamming
- excessive AtE
- otherwise being a jerk
This rule exists to ensure that the game remains enjoyable for everyone. If you do not stop after a warning, I will most likely replace you.
3. Play to your win condition.
4. If you wish to replace out, request replacement via PM. Do not discuss replacing out in thread or suggest that another player replace out.
5. Once you request replacement or I notify you that you are being replaced, it is final. You cease to be a player in the game and may no longer post. You may not replace back into your slot.
6. Dead bodies don’t talk! Dead players may not post in the game thread or the mafia PT.
7. Do not discuss this game outside of the game thread and associated PTs.
8. Do not quote or misquote private communications into the game thread. Paraphrasing is fine. Private communications include:
- your role PM
- communications with the moderator
- posts from PTs
9. Do not engage in the use of trust tells.
10. Do not use provable randomness. Claiming to have rolled a die, for example, is fine; using dice tags is not.
11. Do not use cryptography, invisible text, or text under size 75.
12. If you have the power to edit or delete posts, do not use it.
13. Irritatingly, my mod colour (
#700000
) seems to change not only on different themes but on different sizes of text. As such, I can’t really penalize anyone for using it. Just don’t impersonate me.
14. Due to the racially charged history of lynchings in the USA, Mafiascum does not allow the word “lynch” to be used to refer to the town’s elimination method. Alternatives include:
- eliminate and its derivatives
- execute
- condemn
- fade
- vote off
- YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!
- anything else that gets the point across
15. You may not seriously claim scum with another player.
16. It takes 100% of living players +1 to eliminate the moderator. Please do not collaborate with the spectators to start a riot (though it’s not like I could do anything about it if you did, as I would be dead and dead bodies don’t talk).
17. Pretending to break a rule will be treated as if the rule was actually broken.
18. I reserve the right to change the ruleset. If I do so, I will announce it in thread.
Private Topics
19. The mafia has daytalk.
20. If you would like a personal PT, you may request one.
21. You may quote posts from the game thread into PTs, but you may not quote posts from PTs into the game thread. Drafting posts in PTs, however, is fine.
22. If you have a personal PT, do not attempt to use it to prove you are working from a town mindset (real or fake).
23. The mafia and spectator PTs will be released unredacted after the game ends. If you have a personal PT, it is up to you what you would like to do with it.
Activity
24. At minimum, you must make one game-relevant post every 36 hours. If you fail to do so, you will be prodded.
25. You must pick up your prod within 24 hours by posting game-relevant content. If your prod occurs within 24 hours of night start, you may instead respond to the night start PM. If you do not pick up your prod, you will be replaced.
26. If you accumulate 3 prods, you will be replaced.
27. If you are going to be V/LA, you must inform me by declaring it in thread or by PM.
28. Regardless of V/LA status, any player who does not post for 5 days will be replaced. If you foresee that this will be the case for you, please request replacement.
Deadlines
29. Day 1 has a 12-day deadline. All other days have a 7-day deadline. Nights have a 2-day deadline.
30. Deadline extensions may be granted in special circumstances. Requests for extensions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
31. The night can be sped up if all living players agree to it.
The Coalition Mechanic
32. On Day 1, the town may attempt to form a townblock or “coalition” of 5 players.
33. A coalition is locked in if at least 5 players have the same list of 5 people proposed as a coalition.
34. If a coalition containing 5 townies is locked in, the town wins immediately.
35. If a failed coalition (one containing mafia) is locked in, the game continues into a normal Day 1, but town have the information that at least 1 mafioso is in the coalition.
36. If no coalition is locked in by the Day 1 deadline, the game continues as a normal mountainous game.
37. You can add a player to your coalition by using the HEAL: tags, and remove one by using the HURT: tags.
Voting and Elimination
38. Votes will still be counted during the coalition phase, though eliminations will not go through (see 44).
39. Votes and unvotes must be bolded in the format
VOTE: Alianna
or in vote/unvote tags (VOTE: Alianna). Vote/unvote tags are preferred.
40. You may use nicknames or abbreviations when voting as long as it is clear who you are voting for.
41. Votes in spoilers or obviously broken quotes will not be counted.
42. An elimination occurs when a majority (>50%) of players agree to eliminate someone, with one exception. During the coalition phase, no eliminations will go through even if a player has a majority of the vote. If a failed coalition is locked in while a player has >50% of the vote on them, that player will be eliminated and the day will end.
43. You may vote to no-eliminate (VOTE: No Elimination). If the number of living players is even, only 50% of players must agree to secure a no-elimination.
44. If no majority is reached by the deadline, no elimination will occur.

Votes are to eliminate someone, though eliminations won't actually go through unless a failed coalition is locked in. Heal tags will add someone to your coalition. There are a couple of sections on it in the rules post.

How can you heal Klick that early? It should make it difficult for people to be convinced about your Coalition if you're RVS healing, so that doesn't seem intuitive for town.
