I personally just found the 'trying to discredit' thing on a blank page 2 scumread to be sorta offputtingIn post 40, light_ganski wrote:In post 28, Naerys wrote: i think its Dann-python-BlackIn post 31, usesPython wrote:

Not sure why yet
I don't really get the python scumreads, I think town often try to get the game started with sort of questionable early reads.Reach for my hand, I'll soar away into the dawn-

Maybe I need to change my practices for blitz but I'm nearly in prod range and there's like nothing I would want to comment on in a normal game lol.Reach for my hand, I'll soar away into the dawn-

Meh this probably isn't interesting
This game just feels like squeezing blood out of a stone rn
I still think naerys talking about discrediting on page 2 is the scummiest post in the game so farReach for my hand, I'll soar away into the dawn-

out of interest I went to look at your past topics, and in this game you accused a random argument of being distancing really early on as scumIn post 138, Naerys wrote: i like crafting crazy theories as town, as scum i dont really want attention to be paid to me so i´d be hardworking to look towny

I don't generally care about defensiveness and don't really see python's reaction as scummy either.In post 150, Dannflor wrote: I think if you want to actually talk about way too strong/defensive reactions early in the game, this one from Python is actually scummy
If naerys had called it a "bad push" or something on page 2 I wouldn't care at all
The issue to me is that "discrediting" is a more complex idea where I don't really think the gamestate had developed enough for that to be a natural thought process.Reach for my hand, I'll soar away into the dawn-

@Dann (i could q+ all the posts but that would make the post longer than it needs to be); I will admit I have like 0 experience with naerys or how they word things. I might have skimmed her in 146 or misinterpreted it but the impression I got from it was like "this vote was specifically meant to discredit me because I posted about there maybe being scum on the early wagons" or something along those lines? If I'm wrong, I'm sure Naerys is reading this and she can clarify it, I'm willing to listen since I can sometimes misunderstand things at the best of times.
I was and am aware your read on python is more than 'defensiveness' - I did read your posts, I was responding to what I perceived to be you indirectly saying the push on Naerys was about her being defensive in a way that wasn't actually scummy. I can respond to your points if you want. I tend not to do this because it often ends up in arguing about mafia theory that feels like it sucks the energy out of the thread, and also crucially because I am lazy. Probably the most important thing to bring up, given it's the point you seem to feel most strongly about, is that I think the 'shrug' thing while feeling defensive is something I personally do all the time and does not come across to me as trying to come across as Not Defensive in a scummy way.Reach for my hand, I'll soar away into the dawn-

The 'actually' here strongly implies it's a contrast to somethingIn post 150, Dannflor wrote: I think if you want to actually talk about way too strong/defensive reactions early in the game, this one from Python is actually scummy
Given the topic of conversation before was pushing on naerys, and it could be characterised as 'way too strong/defensive reactions early in the game' that's how I read itReach for my hand, I'll soar away into the dawn-

I know you weren't talking about python's push on naerys. I was simply responding largely regarding my own push on naerysIn post 262, Dannflor wrote:

I mean, it very much does not come across as a neutral question. "Why is Python so rattled, is a question I will pose to the audience." is almost like, the definition of a leading question actually. If Python is rattled, that obviously implies they are scum I think. Saying they are hostile to the idea is also something that, if true, I don't understand the town motivation you think is there. Personally, I just see it as a simple response that they don't want your hero solve because it was completely wrong last time, but if you think they're hostile to it or rattled, why not push it? i don't understand your approach here.In post 256, T-Bone wrote: It was a question to the rest of you. Whether you think they were or not. Indirectly I think Dann answered and I had a related conversation with Light about it. Like, I think it was clear what I was doing when I offered a hero solve for 5 payments of 99.99. It's worth contrasting why Python was so hostile to the idea. I don't like to argue with people about their own behavior, that's not productive. I like to ask the rest of the players about people's behavior.Reach for my hand, I'll soar away into the dawn-

I wasn't exactly expecting that to convince anyone, which is also why I haven't been that vocal about who I'm townreading but I thought it was kinda funny that two people thought 3 of my townreads was the exact scumteamIn post 368, gob wrote:

My townreads atp are mostly based on vibes
I guess if I have to be more specific, Ranger's black/dann theory feels like town creativity, light and python feel genuine/less cautious than I generally expect scum to beReach for my hand, I'll soar away into the dawn-

Ok here's a readlist
{light_ganski, Ranger}
{Dannflor, Save the Dragons, usesPython}
{Black, Doctor Drew, gob}
{Cook, Naerys}
{davesaz, T-Bone}
Light ganski was actually a fairly weak townlean earlier. I think her recent posting has been much townier; she feels very much genuinely invested in solving and has energy to be, like, moving around. I think scum often try to emulate their town play, but take the path of least resistance in doing so; I don't think light here is behaving like that.
I struggle to see this being scum Ranger. I'm not sure how to exactly express this, except the black/dann push in particular still feels like town creativity to me.
Dannflor is a high-threat player. I think his approach is common to what I've seen from town Dannflor before - in particular his earlier play really reminded me of this interaction in Swinger's Hall. I like his davesaz push. I don't really see anything missing from his play this game that would make him be scummy.
I thought STD's early play was pretty towny. I think he scumreads me like every game so I couldn't really OMGUS him. T-bone is a good vote
I think I've talked about python a fair bit. I don't think the pushes on them are generally great, I'm not like hyper-confident in this read but their play comes across as town to me.
Black is also a high-threat player. She tends to call me scum, or at least have a feeling I'm scum, so it's kind of uncomfortable she is not doing that this game. Even so, I'm not sure this is what scum Black would look like. She doesn't really feel like a deepwolf this game. She feels more like she is just vibing.
Drew is someone I usually struggle to read. Well, it'd be more accurate to say he generally comes off as scummy to me all the time and I try to separate that from things I can actually use to read him. I consistently have no idea what he's talking about which might be town indicative for him.
I've never played with gob but I have read games with gob in them. I think he is also the kind of player I struggle to read, similarly to drew. I get the feeling scum gob might be a bit more extra than this?
Cook is ??? I don't know what she is cooking but it had better be good.
I'm not sure if I was misunderstanding Naerys earlier and my instinct is to just let that go but honestly her posts have not been fantastic regardless. I don't see much solving coming from her.
Davesaz has quite a few game-relevant posts but none of it feels very, uh, juicy? I think the read on gob feels like ... Ok, first of all, I don't think that's an inconsistency, but gob poking holes in light's thought process. I don't expect dave to be super committal early, but his approach to gob and his play in general just don't feel super critical?
I think T-bone is probably still the scummiest player in the game. I hope this was clear from what I said earlier but - I think his thought process in the early interaction with python doesn't make sense. I don't really believe he asks "Why is python so rattled?" as a neutral question, or that such a thing is natural to do. When I asked about it, he said that it could get responses anyway, which is like true to an extent, but 1) you're going to get more responses if you don't make it look like a rhetorical question and 2) I just don't see the thought process that leads to T-bone not thinking python is scummy and asking that. His play feels overly cautious and unnatural to me. This hasn't changed over time; his posts in general don't really feel interested in finding other people's alignments.Reach for my hand, I'll soar away into the dawn-

Like the gamestate just feels super underdeveloped. I blame dannflor who made me sign up for this game
It looks like gob is the only wagon that exists at all? I don't super townread gob but I don't love that elimination either. I'm not sure how we stop vanity voting when all wagons but one are basically vanity votes lol
