But there’s something about this town they don’t know about. There’s something sinister, a threat already here. The full moon rises that very night, and a blood-curdling cry awakens the innocent and the guilty alike. All rush to the source of the noise. The mafia exchange glances. This murder was not their doing.
numberQ’s twin, Mod Aligned, was killed pregame.
They attend the town meeting, and there they learn of the werewolves’ existence. The werewolves also surely know of theirs, from the first night’s murder. The town alderman proclaims that, though one death is doubtlessly the work of werewolves, the one the night before occurred without the full moon’s gaze. With a stony face, he deduces that more than one foul faction haunts this town.
He calls upon the local monastery to perform their sacred duty of routing lycanthropes. And, to investigate the first death, he forms another group of citizens. These monks and these masons are tasked with determining the identities of the murderers, but - as always - infiltration and secrecy rule the game. To prevent infiltration, they must uphold secrecy, and thus they are forbidden from revealing their identities to the rest of the townsfolk.
And if a goon or a wolf has already slipped into these societies unnoticed? May God help us all.
