by D4, there was good mechanical reasons to discount most of the players - and we knew that at least one or two of them must have happened (in this case it was a no-kill N1). so, unless you have good reason for being able to rank order the likeliness of these mechanical reasons, it's logical for them to cancel each other out and to default back to scumreads, especially when you have scumreads that the whole town pretty much agrees on (lilith).

also, well done on a solid game, skitter. i was hoping the continual survival of you and menalque would eventually start to turn you both on each other (from a why-are-you-still-alive perspective), but you managed to crossread each other as town strong confidently enough that we had to bite the bullet and NK you.

which night did you use your PGO?

I think this normally only happens if we get to lylo, and even then it's like ~50/50 if it goes anywhere. I think the general pattern with skitter and I (although not always) is early interactions -> mounting suspicion -> some degree of conflict -> subsiding suspicion -> townreading

@duck gib mod and scum pt? pls? pls gib?

pt release will be ~72 hrs from game end :)

I agree the skitter/menalque thing was glorious to behold. I kept flashing back to all the times I've kept skitter and/or menalque alive and how much of a good time that was.

when I did the rand I had to put my phone down walk away come back and look at it again but I think in a plist this good, ~50% of scumteam rands would have been formidable.

I hope it's not lazy to say that I think SS and Lilith played the early game very strongly, and Hoopla and S&M played the lategame very strongly. The decision to seize the Menalque miselim and set Hoopla up for a double bus (rather than letting SS elim go through maybe, then reassessing from there) was visionary imo.

oh yeah, i forgot to thank S&M for doing a great job in endgame. it's always a tough gig replacing into a 4K-post game, and they handled being dealt the lilith slot as best as anyone could hope for. it was also fun seeing pooky pull out all the stops to push through the mena elim, instead of accepting the SS bus on D4.

in the moment it felt like a scumclaim to me too, but as scum, it's easy to overestimate how bad a certain action looks to townies that have no confirmed info. often times you can get away with more than you think as scum.

big agree with all this in general terms, I think scum generally lose out from being too passive than from being too bold, and it's interesting that none of the *strong* scumplayers on site are people who would shock from making a big move as scum

also, the killing hyperposters at deadline post made me genuinely laugh out loud, so thanks for that

You did a fantastic job. We had a great team. you and S_S and I’m really glad I hydra’d with Pooky.

Thanks for modding duckling.

Had we not been jk we might not have risked it but we thought we would die anyway because of that, so we felt it necessary to do that 11th hour gambit to save S_S.
