I'm super dumb so can anyone explain why the scum won here? As far as I know, it would have still been 5v2 and game board condition hasn't still been fulfilled...

Sure.

At the beginning of D3, the board looks like this:

XST

Town has three real options:

Lim tris, in which case STD kills No Lim and wins via board.
Lim STD, in which case tris kills No Lim and wins via board.
Lim No Lim, in which case it's 2v2 and mafia has parity.

As soon as the mafia demonstrated awareness of this and made a kill that made that situation inevitable, it became impossible for town to win the game. I could, of course, force the players to play it out, but there's no real point to that.

In their defense, town was playing one of the worse boards for them. The only way it could have been a better board for scum is if they had had the scumteam on adjacent sides, not opposite sides.

Next time you run a X vs Y setup, you should give the "scum leader of X/Y" access to the Scum PT, and give the Town Leader the ability to direct all Town players by PM too.

Should this setup remain featured? Should it remain approved?

From the modding side, this setup is very easy to run, although it might be a good idea to add a board post on the wiki to use as code when making the game board for those mods who are less BBCode literate. (Speaking of, I kept getting 0 above my game board tables and I have no idea why.)

From a mechanical side, I'd like to see someone attempt to tweak it away from random game boards to see what effect that has. Theoretically, scum choosing the board position pregame should be scum siding, but it also gives town information to analyze on D1 and I think that the overall impact would probably be helpful to town. Likely the center square will still always be the IC, because the center square functionally always gets chosen in a game of tic-tac-toe, but it would be an interesting mutation.

Balance wise I'm not sure that this is the best example to use (D1 was fairly rushed with little understanding of the mechanics) but I agree that this setup probably leans towards the scum team. Given site meta, that might not be a bad thing though. I would say leave it Approved for now, although I don't know that there is enough interest in the game to justify featured.

Technically, Isis did have access to the scum PT. And I tried to get TBone to play since he likes the setup but schedules clashed.
