1. I am a first-time moderator and will probably (but hopefully not) mess something up at some point. Minor errors like votecount mistakes can be pointed out in thread. If you believe I have made a more major error, PM me about it.
2. If you feel that a situation requires moderator intervention, PM me.
3. Toxicity will not be tolerated. Toxic behaviour includes, but is not necessarily limited to:
- flaming
- personal attacks
- use of slurs or derogatory language
- spamming
- excessive AtE
- otherwise being a jerk
This rule exists to ensure that the game remains enjoyable for everyone. If you do not stop after a warning, I will most likely replace you.
4. Play to your win condition.
5. If you wish to replace out, request replacement via PM. Do not discuss replacing out in thread or suggest that another player replace out.
6. Once you request replacement or I notify you that you are being replaced, it is final. You cease to be a player in the game and may no longer post. You may not replace back into your slot.
7. Dead bodies don’t talk! Dead players may not post in the game thread or any associated PTs other than the spectator thread.
8. Do not discuss this game outside of the game thread and associated PTs.
9. Do not quote or misquote private communications into the game thread. Paraphrasing is fine. Private communications include:
- your role PM
- communications with the moderator
- posts from PTs
10. Do not engage in the use of trust tells.
11. Do not use provable randomness. Claiming to have rolled a die, for example, is fine; using dice tags is not.
12. Do not use cryptography, invisible text, or text under size 75.
13. If you have the power to edit or delete posts, do not use it.

. Please refrain from using either.
15. Due to the racially charged history of lynchings in the USA, Mafiascum does not allow the word “lynch” to be used to refer to the town’s elimination method. Alternatives include:
- eliminate and its derivatives
- execute
- condemn
- fade
- vote off
- YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!
- anything else that gets the point across
16. You may not seriously claim scum with another player.
17. It takes 100% of living players +1 to eliminate the moderator. Please do not collaborate with the spectators to start a riot (though it’s not like I could do anything about it if you did, as I would be dead and dead bodies don’t talk).
18. Pretending to break a rule will be treated as if the rule was actually broken.
19. I reserve the right to change the ruleset. If I do so, I will announce it in thread.
20. At minimum, you must make one game-relevant post every 36 hours. If you fail to do so, you will be prodded.
21. You must pick up your prod within 24 hours by posting game-relevant content. If your prod occurs within 24 hours of night start, you may instead respond to the night start PM. If you do not pick up your prod, you will be replaced.
22. If you accumulate 3 prods, you will be replaced.
23. If you are going to be V/LA, you must inform me by declaring it in thread or by PM.
24. Regardless of V/LA status, any player who does not post for 5 days will be replaced. If you foresee that this will be the case for you, please request replacement.
25. Days have a 7-day deadline. Nights have a 2-day deadline.
26. Day extensions may be granted in special circumstances. Requests for extensions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
27. The night can be sped up if all living players, including those without night actions, agree to it.
28. Votes and unvotes must be bolded in the format
VOTE: Alianna
or in vote/unvote tags (
VOTE: Alianna). Vote/unvote tags are preferred.
29. You may use nicknames or abbreviations when voting as long as it is clear who you are voting for.
30. You do not need to unvote in order to change votes.
31. Votes in spoilers will not be counted.
32. An elimination occurs when a majority (>50%) of players agree to eliminate someone.
33. If no majority is reached by the deadline, no elimination will occur.
34. You may vote to no-eliminate (
VOTE: No Elimination). If the number of living players is even, only 50% of players must agree to secure a no-elimination.
35. Once the hammer vote is cast, the day’s fate is sealed. Discussion may continue into the twilight, but no further votes or unvotes will be counted.
36. Night actions will be resolved using
Reasonable Action Resolution.
37. Mafia have multitasking.
38. All night actions must be submitted by the deadline. You may change your action up until that point. If you do not submit a night action by the deadline, you will take no action.
39. All existing PTs have daytalk.
40. If you would like a personal PT, you may request one.
41. You may quote posts from the game thread into PTs, but you may not quote posts from PTs into the game thread. Drafting posts in PTs, however, is fine.
42. If you have a personal PT, do not attempt to use it to prove you are working from a town mindset (real or fake).
43. All PTs shared by two or more players will be released unredacted after the game ends. If you have a personal PT, it is up to you what you would like to do with it.
44. The town wins if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.
45. The mafia wins if all threats to the mafia are eliminated and at least one mafia-aligned player is alive, or if nothing can prevent this from occurring.
46. The serial killer, if one exists, wins if they are the last player alive, or if nothing can prevent this from occurring.
47. The game will be declared a draw if:
- all living players PM me agreeing to one
- everyone dies
48. All living mafia members must agree in order to concede.
