Non communicating hydrae must go.
I love this set up and I've played every iteration of it on site (or almost, at the very least).
Last time, or recently-ish, Hoopla came up with a breaking strategy for this, and I want to try it again. I have to remember what it is/hunt down the game -- I sincerely hope it wasn't eaten by tigers.
Do not lynch yet under any circumstances. I am at work and computer less every single weekend but will on fact be insanely busy this upcoming week for the 4th (business). That's just life but I love hard boiled so I didn't want to miss it.-

Still looking but it appears to have been eaten. :/. We won the game handily with the plan... It was something like "mass claim pr/not pr on day 1 and then lynch a vt" but obviously we can't use it unless I either remember exactly (unlikely) or find the game. I can't ask Hoopla because game has started etc.-

Yeah I actually think Hoopla broke the game which is why it was changed to 13 players. Still need to look into the actual plan to see if it's still viable. I actually didn't realize it changed, or didnt remember -- I think that was the last hard boiled I played.-

This is annoying -- I can't quote Hoopla's plan and I'm not on my computer to do it manually.
The numbers need to be crunched to see if it's still viable for 13 players.
If you want to see the plan, go the game oriole linked and ISO Hoopla. Read past the initial plan because it evolves a bit.
Someone industrious can quote it, but be sure to get the evolutions/clarification.-

No, if we claim prs, all but vig claim. Otherwise there's no efficacy.
And the hider flips a coin between actioning and not actioning.
For this plan to ever be viable, it has to be a vig or then when scum counterclaim tracker, there's no vig to shoot them in the face.
I can't analyze this properly from phone arrrrrgh-

I don't give a flying fuck about town points.
I just realized hider tracker is gone. Hmm. That sort of changes things.
Pc time is necessary for this for me, though... I've never been the set-up breaky type.-

The strategies are mutually exclusive.
If we go with no-claiming at all, it may be more efficient to choose tracker. With a claiming scenario, vig is a must.
Need to do crunch nummmmbers
If i didn't replace in i would have done this earlier sorry guys-

Look, it's an open game. Suggesting a bad strategy is impossible, because if it's bad everyone will know.
Yes, my suggesting it is null, but why are you so adamant about pitching a fit over that?
I am used to vig being the no-brainer choice because in the hard boiled i am used to, picking tracker was a patently bad idea. (Been vig in it myself what, twice?). I didn't realize the set up had changed at first so I need time to sit down with it. I am v/la EVERY weekend and didnt have a chance to do this pre-game because I replaced in.-

I think it's probably not the best idea to out anyone at all just yet.
I didn't realize they took out hider tracker in this variant and that makes a difference.
I'm evaluating marangal's idea right now. I may like it.-

No, it's none of those reasons. I find it strange how actively he is undermining anyone -- just in general -- from having a town read on me while he doesn't have a read himself. If he had a scum read on me, that would be a different story.
Why is he so worried I MIGHT get town cred from MYSTERY PEOPLE (for something that is not alignment relevant anyway) if he has no read on me of his own?
That's not a town mindset.-

I perfectly understand why proposing the plan doesn't make me town. It doesn't.
I don't care about that; I care about your behavior surrounding that.
And if you think I was aware the set-up changed and still posted as I did, you should be voting me. You're not. That's p scummy.
For the record, though, the hard boiled with hoopla was the last one I played, and if I was ever aware they changed the set-up, it was forgotten eons ago. If you had been reading my posts, you'd see when I realized which things -- first that it changed from 12p to 13p, and then that hider tracker was gone. In hindsight, I vaguely remember talking about possibly changing it to 13p. I think a couple of other set ups were all changed at once. Hoopla was the open list mod and implemented these changes.-

I could get behind this. but I'm happy with my taskmaster vote at the moment. That was my initial response as well. That's why I asked him where his vote was, and if it deserved to be there more than on me. He did put his vote on a suspect after that, which somewhat mollified me but I was keeping my eye on him to see how he treated me after that. The cat's out of the bag, so that's useless now.
Bert, what is your read on me?-

I knew the set up was broken, but not that it had been fixed. That's a pretty important fact. And it was best totally broken, just a system was figured out to swing it in town favor.-

hey thereIn post 90, Kerberos wrote:you guys better get in here and when I say you guys I mean syrlacious and nacho. I am not very good at reading bert but I can pretty much nail you 2 down.
Why not?In post 117, Lazurial wrote:So far... My moral side is against any strategy that's about breaking the game rather than simply playing it how it's built, but I won't interfere if that's the way we decide to go.
Why would Bert-scum not vote Amrun? In post 130, ac1983fan wrote:So, first of all, town has no motivation to lie (barring a few special circumstances, which this is not one of) so if you think a player is lying this should ring off bells in your head.
Secondly, if you're town you shouldn't care what other players read you as, because after all you KNOW you are town. (That is my philosophy on it anyway...Scum have more motivation to try and get these "town points."
Thirdly, BertKerb's 107 reads like only the first line of Amrun's 106 was read.
You constantly called yourself a scummy townie, yet attack Bert for essentially saying the same thing. In post 159, Lucky2u wrote:@Oriole It will stop as soon as I make it to the end of a game without being lynched as townie
Being suspicious of someone (which I never was in a serious way more than I ever am with Hoopla; she had recently fleeced me as scum when we played that) is not at all what I'm talking about here.
Why are you conflating two totally separate issues?-

I seriously feel like taskmaster is scared scum. I know my "case" isn't some all-encompassing thing, but every one of his posts seems to come from a scum mindset. I feel strongly about it though there are few concrete reasons to point to. I'd like to see him swing.-

The thing is, taskmaster, that if you truly read it that way, you'd have been voting me from day 1. You haven't. You're too cautious. It's not genuine.
If you were town, you'd be more interested in getting a read on me yourself than preventing other people from reading me as town with no opinion of me for yourself.-

If oriole doesn't seem scummy, why would you want to start a counter-wagon on him?In post 422, mnemonicdevice wrote:I'm the same as Laz, didn't realize it was that long since I last posted. I want to start a counter-wagon against Oriole, but thing is, he doesn't actually seem that scummy. There hasn't really been anything new said, just people quoting the past (quotes of the 200's) and bringing them up now, which makes it seem that people are just trying to find excuses to attack people. Just my general opinion of using past posts. The only time that I would use them was to note inconsistency in one person. Other than that, I am keeping me vote the same (nothing) until I have stronger feelings about any one person being scum.
And what do you think should be used to scumhunt, if not past quotes?

I see Oriole as town for ~reasons~ I am not inclined to share.
Oriole, how do you see her literally looking for reasons to omgus you as town? She was disappointed because she couldn't legitimize her omgus, but much worse is that she has exactly scum suspects.-

Oops, *exactly zero scum suspects.
And yes, I thought about that, but it's so strange that who can say? She doesn't seem to view it as a bad thing to say either way, so I don't think she'd avoid saying it. She explicitly went hunting for things in your iso to vote you for, couldn't find them, and then accused YOU of doing that when you obviously hadn't. She's trying to discredit you but can't find a good enough "reason" to call you scum. I can't see town doing that.-

But that's the thing, nacho. I don't think that mem realizes how bad that post was and so wouldn't avoid saying it as either alignment. And the fact that she went through oriole's iso looking for a reason to call him scummy (thereby doing the very thing he accused oriole of) is SUPER scummy.
As town, if she felt inclined to vote oriole, what's to stop her? As scum, she's more likely to feel like she needs a "reason" beyond reproach.
And not sure how you can read the "not wanting to use past quotes as scum hunting" cement as genuine when a) she was trying to do that with oriole and simply failed, b) her reasons are that she finds it scummy if it wasn't brought up before (okay, logical) but it WAS brought up before.
And I wanted both heads to answer in order to read the slot better.
I don't like how you were making comments to laz that imply a scum read or at least not-town read on him but have him as town.-

We are seeing this the exact opposite, nacho. I don't see a reason why as TOWN she wouldn't just omgus. I don't see the TOWN motivation for "wanting" to find someone scummy, especially when she has no reads.
Why her not realizing what she posted is bad says "town bumbling" as opposed to "scum bumbling," I really don't know. It's just "bumbling."
But I must say I feel slightly less righteous about this after some sleep.
Mem, what is your read on oriole? Why?
And yes, nacho, I asked you to explain why that hop was scummy. But you haven't. Why not?
And why is laz town that needs a prod but mem not? Don't you have them both as town?-
