In post 45, D3f3nd3r wrote:It wasn't a particularly long RVS, it looked like the ika discussion on the last page brought us out of that, especially when compounded with the claim. Though I do find it a bit odd that Kirroha and Kop put in RVS votes this late on (even though it was for each their first post).

There's a lot of people pretending not to know the rules. This is suspicious.

In a related story, I also didn't know the rules.

UNVOTE: titus (was I voting titus? whatever)

VOTE: d3f3nd

In my experience people trying too hard to pin down exactly which votes are or aren't random are a little too worried about votes. And all this guy does is meta-talk.

Also [fos]lane[/fos] who doth protest too much on the "omg I don't know the rules" thing. settle down, guy. even his attempts to NOT do that (see post #100) come off as try-hard.

More on this Monday. I'm on a phone and it's too hard to type and see the game.

VOTE: beeboy

I thought DK hit it on the head about beeboy, and titus makes the obvious connection to the timing of the kill. Though I find a few others (Insidious, D3f3nd) to have been following blind.

After beeboy dies I'm going back to D3f3nd... he's still too meta for my liking, despite what he says.

Eh, I don't know about the Jeannie wagon. Leaning town on her.

We're down to two scum and this is nightless, so we get to three town players and we're home free.

I'm town, and Lane (I now believe) doesn't have a clue how the mechanics of this game work, so he's town, too. Find us one more.

fos acryon
. This is a pet theory of mine, still working out the details. His behavior before Kop's death troubles me. First, he made a show about being with me, which looks like buddying. Second, the way he "confirmed" me as town after Kop's ridiculous death makes me think he's signalling a teammate (lest THREE different scum are suicidally trigger-happy). I'll be honest, the only thing keeping me from a vote here is that I enjoy positive feedback, and he's good to have around for that.

In post 121, InsidiousLemons wrote:The first post of the two that D3f3nd3r mentioned doesn't really strike me as a scumtell, just somewhat awkward phrasing. Beeboy's mason claim was an... odd move, to say the least, but I can see how it could have just been an ill-thought-out gambit or just a joke. Either way it is somewhat suspicious, but doesn't really stand out to me as an especially great reason to vote him. 105, though, I don't like at all. I hadn't looked into it much as I just sort of assumed it was true. I don't really know why, as taking people's word for things and ignoring meta altogether is a terrible idea in Mafia, but nonetheless I mostly disregarded it. The revelation, though, that he does have recent scum meta, makes me feel very good about pushing for his lynch.
VOTE: Beeboy
That's L-2, if I'm correct, and I don't know enough about the other players in the game to say whether or not they're trigger happy. I'll look into it, but in the meantime I'd like to suggest that we keep him where he is until we hear from him.

In post 145, InsidiousLemons wrote:Let's consider the possibilities.
1. Beeboy, seeing that he was being pushed closer to a lynch, shot out of desperation to try and kill a mason before he died.
2. Some unknown scum player shot on a hunch to try and frame Beeboy and make his lynch even more likely.
3. Beeboy's near-lynch and Kernel's death occurring at the same time was a coincidence.

Personally, I see possibility number 1 as the most likely. Trying to frame Beeboy would be extremely risky, as if the scum player died it'd likely take a lot of the pressure off of Beeboy as people realized that he'd probably been framed. I also don't really see how this could've been a coincidence, as any scum attempt to try and kill a mason while someone else was near to being lynched anyway only really makes sense if Beeboy is scum. Think about it - if another scum was the shooter, the only motivation they'd really have to not just wait for Beeboy's lynch is if Beeboy is not town-aligned.
VOTE: Beeboy

Nevermind about acroyn. Turns out I've found another scum for us while you guys bicker pointlessly (a town v town argument here, I now believe).

VOTE: insidious

Insidious has done nothing but post meta-comments. These two, in particular, are bad. In the first he's all but saying "hey wait up guys while my teammate can log on and kill someone," while trying to pretend he supports the wagon.

Then he comes back with this second quote, which reads overwrought on its own, but looks much worse in context. Everyone already was going to vote beeboy at that point--the timing of the mason kill was all but a confession. So this again looks like overcompensation.

Nah, Jeannie's cool. Her interaction with you isn't the point. She's been around plenty.

And by the way, I don't care about quick votes at this point. Honestly, I don't. IMO the game is already won. We need three town players--scum can't kill at night, so that's all it takes. I look around and I see about four or five. Even if you're one and I'm wrong (I doubt it), I don't really care.

Just my read. The discussion sort of died on a vine in a way that makes me think it was town v town.

Also, Hershey is my next scum read. Not much to go on, but I find her posts a bit pedantic and passive aggressive, like she's trying to stay above the fray but wants to plant the seed that others are suspicious. "Shade" is the word kids would use nowadays, I believe.

@cobalt-- you've got to be kidding. you think scum bussed THE ENTIRE TEAM for no reason? Without any daytalk? Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm actually just owning this game and I'm not about to stop now.

That said, I still don't think it's cobalt... but it easily could be with this shitshow of logic.

To me it's hershey or cobalt, no brainer. jeannie is clear town.

Cobalt is a mess. His argument is that there was a non-coordinated, THREE PERSON scumteam bus... so that scum could get to (if extremely lucky, and hits all the masons) a 1 v 5. Also, it's pretty damn obvious that kop died trying to kill me, so your argument is doubly horrible.

Again, let's kill hershey and end this. If not hershey, then probably cobalt.

UNVOTE: acry

You know, back when I was killing it I said my townblock was me, lane, and jeannie. Then cobalt shows up and calls me and lane his top two suspects. Since the game is nightless the only way scum can win is by getting lynches of town players, so it's not like they can just kill them quietly. So maybe it is cobalt trying a last-minute desperation move here.

I'm thinking cobalt, I guess, if not acryon.

My suspicions on acryon are that he sort of hitched his wagon to me early, in a way that could have signalled to partners not to shoot me (as explained earlier). I very very very much want to believe in his towniness, but it makes sense that in a nightless he'd try to find someone to buddy hard.

For cobalt the case is much more straightforward. I've been talking about a "town block" for awhile, and since it's nightless and there's only one scum left it would only take two confirmed town players to autowin the game. The only way to break that up would be to.... actively break that up, by casting suspicion on the two players most agreed to be town (me and lane).

We've got plenty of time. No need to rush into anything here. Cobalt needs to check in one way or the other and the mentions are already out there.

Also in general I'm not sure why you're trying to slow things down so much. We still get four tries (out of six) to lynch the last scum. I agree, let's wait for people to show up, but let's not pretend we're in a state of emergency here.

I am delighted to see that while acro is a paranoid crazy person, he's at least good people. There were no more masons, chief.

Also can we talk about how much town crushed this game? If not for absurdly lucky scum shots on masons (4/6 hits!) this would have been even more of a romp than it was.

4 dead scum in 13 pages, that's got to be a record.

I think all the scum were too trigger-happy. Kop and insidious, in particular, probably could have argued their way out of death rather than started shooting. Kop in particular screwed them, since he pretty much telegraphed that he was going to try to kill me.

IL's shots were ridiculous (until he committed suicide by shooting when no masons were left for some reason). There was nothing in kirroha or d3f3nd's iso that would have made me think mason. well done.

This is a hard format for the mafia, despite the 4/13 ratio. If a "townblock" with more or less legitimate cred starts forming (as it did), there's pretty much no way to stop it.

I in no way noticed your townslip. In this case me being basically bad at the game was an advantage.

FWIW I was feeling really confident about jeannie and lane regardless. so I'm not sure how you would have argued your way much further (perhaps outlasting acro, I guess) anyway.
