Ok some stuff has happened lets see if I can come up with any reads.

In post 31, Charloux wrote:Anyway i think you are nitpicking, as if you are trying to start a vagon. VOTE: BNL

Why is that bad?

In post 44, BNL wrote:if I happened to miss RVS because I was sleeping, and especially if we are already past page one, I will force myself to get reads, however weak it is.

I'm buying this. Town motivation to get out of RVS.

I like by davesaz

I don't like that texcat voted with no real reasoning.

Really big impact coming from a guy whose only posts are votes with shallow or no reasoning.

Seems a bit overly defensive considering Charloux hasn't done much either.

Rereading.

I'm having trouble working through charloux specifically saying the first scum to kill JR gets free pudding. Not a lynch. Quite possibly an off hand remark, but it gives me a feeling he knows something.

I agree with this criticism.

VOTE: Charloux

Better than an RVS vote.

NAI = not alignment indicative
OMGUS = Oh my god you suck (for voting me)
WIFOM = Wine in front of me (when scum says something that you think they think you think they wouldn't say and on and on so you get stuck in a loop [princess bride reference])

Nothing looked towny, but nothing looked scummy therefore I had no further questions on the matter. The questioning didn't change that I found those things to be potentially scummy, but I did have questions for Kop so I put my vote there. Questions are a bit more meaningful with a vote behind them.

More than likely. I'd rather rule it out for her just in case. I'd also rather continue to have faith in her. I can do that by believing Rask didn't move up the list because it's a mason grouping. That's making a huge assumption that scummish = bottom, mind you. She could very well have most town at bottom, though I don't see how we'd three be grouped there in that case either. I can see the grouping as "if one of these are scum they all are", or "at least one of these are scum", or "possible masons". I can't see a reason to townread us based off our P1 interactions without having a fair idea of our individual personalities and mindsets.

I think I've only half skimmed a game ranger was in, but my understanding is that trying to understand the lists is a bit pointless and that if she wants to communicate something directly she will.

Why?

She's a good player, but she could be scum. She certainly hasn't put up enough content for you to have a town read on her.

Ranger typically scum reads me as town. Yet, she has me at the top of her list this game. The last time she had me at or near the top of her D1 reads lists, she was scum:

Yeah the finished one. I've noticed you tend to say more than what's strictly necessary to make your point, if you know what I mean (I'll find an example). Scum may over explain in this way because they are worried about being caught. However I noticed it in that newbie as well and you were town there.

In post 161, JaeReed wrote:To elaborate on the whole this is my first non-newbie comment, since it's separate from the next paragraph...

I wanted to clear up to Ranger if she thought we were masons. I, at least, am not. The other 2 reasons is that she scumreads us or has us in some kind of "there's scum somewhere in this" grouping. I won't bother to ask her to elaborate because I don't think she will this early on based off what I've seen of her. I think she likes to hold off as long as possible and I'd rather give her time to work her magic if she's town. If she's scum it'll probably show in her reads eventually. Clearing up a possible misconception allows me to see if it changes what her reads are. If it doesn't, it means she's scumreading us which is fine for now.

I may be placing too much faith in her, but I believe she's too good of a player to scumread a townie all the way to the end of D1 so long as D1 lasts as long as it should. I get that I can be read as scummy, which would implicate Rask or Charl (really slim chance it's both of them). It's whatever for the moment since it's still early and I know she'll work it out. (No pressure though since I know people have bad games)

Like here, you're just saying a lot of stuff in order to explain what you are talking about when you probably didn't have to. If it's a playstyle thing that's fine, but if I had noticed you didn't do this in your other game or if you were scum in that game I would have called you on it.

Whoops must have missed it. I just think vague statements like that don't mean anything. I want to know exactly where a read is coming from and why. It's not true wifom because town would do it genuinely and scum would do it to look like town, there are no layers past that. It's just very hard to tell whether it was done genuinely or not. However saying one of your actions is townie when it isn't,
that
I find scummy.

I disagree because I consider wifom to have a sort of circular nature. Figuring out whether someone is town or trying to act like town is just the game. No point in debating that though. I do still think calling out your own NAI action as townie is scummy.

I don't know what you're reading but we aren't even at L-1 are we? There's been no claim. Hell we're still missing a slot. How'd you get such a strong town read anyway?

You still get a claim before a lynch. My point is we aren't close to lynching you so I don't know wtf you guys are on about. I certainly don't know why JR is defending you so hard.

VOTE: JR

Mostly null on Kop, I wanna know why you are defending so hard.

You can't rely on a meta read if you don't know what the persons scum game is like. I think you only have a read this strong if you already know who town is.

I really don't like how JR considered the possibility that Char could have been town here. Like how do you read that and think maybe char is actually town?

There's no benefit in not claiming at this point for town ranger. If ranger is doctor then fine, that's what scum assumed, she was already a target. If she is a different PR then she will get killed anyway because scum thinks she is doctor. If she is VT then claiming gives basically no info away. Ranger explain why you won't claim if you don't agree with this logic.

Isn't our goal to kill SK today? Correct me if I'm wrong. Plus Ranger had just posted about it.

Like I said about ranger I hadn't ISOd her and wasn't scum reading her at that point but the odds of her claim and her refusing to claim were enough to force her to claim.

Because I think Ranger knows she's dead after doc flip. I still don't really know why she made that play. Why do you think I'm considering that you could be town?

As for Kop, I'm not totally sure between kop and bnl, I don't know if it's just that kop hasn't posted that much so I don't see as much scummy stuff, but I see some scummy stuff from bnl. I'll be more confident after the replacement probably.

I think Dave is SK, but why not gather more information? It certainly doesn't hurt anything.

That's good. I admit that I don't look good there at all. Unfortunately, my non commitment was due to not having reread her ISO, which I always do before looking for a lynch. Had someone given intent to hammer I would have unvoted to give myself time. However the fact that she wouldn't claim was ridiculous so I knew my vote would end up on her until she did that. FWIW, I would have bussed the shit out of her if I were scum, which is why I think Lane is probably scum. Ranger clearly knew she was dead, hence the quick self-vote. Lane clearly believed the doctor claim (which is suspicious, considering the self vote made Char look like obv scum and before he wanted to lynch her), but honestly didn't push ranger that hard. Then Day 2 starts and Lane starts pushing much harder. I think because Ranger said to during night.

In post 408, davesaz wrote:It could be either SK or Vig, and I'm a little suspicious of how SK is being emphasized so much. If it is a vig we don't want them outed, but it helps to consider both angles. Might a vig have targeted either one? Slow BBT might have been seen as scummy and a vig target. Again, not sure about Ras from that perspective.

pedit: I pretty much always re-evaluate at beginning of day. Persivul was looking pretty town to me.
Also here if he knows he is T then he knows it's not vig.

Yeah exactly. And acting like it's a good idea to not talk about the SK. Both look bad to me. Plus, acting like he didn't know if there was an SK in the game when it should have been obvious there was if he was T which I assume he is claiming/will claim.

I don't understand how it would be in scum's interest to roleblock and how that's not objectively worse than letting the SK try to kill the other confirmed townie or why SK would ever try to shoot scum when there's 2 confirmed townies left.

I don't know how you feel like going about today Pers, but I think it will be easier to find the last mafia member than the SK. I admit I made a mistake and my analysis was wrong about lane so he probably is not mafia. Between BNL and kop though I don't know which is more likely to be mafia. It's possible kop activity pattern is scum laying low, but I think it's at least partly genuine busyness or disinterest or whatever because he was being replaced at one point. The points above are reasonable but I don't think they are that convincing.

First compare my day 1 posts to BNL and Kop. I currently don't think lane is scum, but he could be SK.

Spoiler: MC Day 1
,,,, - These posts are all me actively pushing someone who, to be honest, seemed a bit off. Aka doing actual scum hunting.
, - Here I switch to questioning Kop because I think that Charl looks fine and Kop's entrance is super weird. I hate playing the "if I were scum" game, but if I were scum there's no reason to not push Charl more there. I genuinely decided that Kop looked more scummy, that's why I switched.
, I defend a townie who is receiving pressure.
Here I move to JR instead of Charl who was floundering. If I'm scum I just go add more pressure there.

Spoiler: Kop Day 1
I already talked about how I didn't like Kop's entrance.
,, Kop starts the game like this with no scum hunting at all, just a weak attempt to add pressure to Charl.
Kop continues to do nothing, no scum hunting at all, everyone is a town read.

Literally that's pretty much it from Kop on day 1. There's 0 scum hunting at all, at any point.

Spoiler: BNL Day 1
I still think BNL's first posts are ok, despite what others thought.
is interesting, BNL asked a question to 2 scum and a townie. I probably wouldn't do that if I were scum.
, , Are all examples of what BNL does all day 1, random questioning that never really goes anywhere.

So just based on day 1 I think that it's clear that I'm doing much more scum hunting than BNL or Kop. So even if you think that I'm scummy, don't pretend like Kop or BNL are so super townie that I'm an obvious lynch.

Other days coming later.

Note: Lane was on the Charl; Kop, BNL, and I were all off, so more evidence Lane probably isn't scum.

Day 2:

MC:
I'm V/LA and not that involved on the push on ranger. When I get back she hasn't claimed which is obviously called for so I put her at L-1. Honestly, I don't even see the point against me here while rereading it. I was V/LA at the start of the wagon and when I got back Ranger was not claiming so it's obvious that needed to happen before anything else. Like you say I was hesitant but I voted her to L-1 and forced her to claim.

Kop:
, Kop is trying to defend Ranger here by saying that scum is trying to pull a weird gambit instead of killing her after claiming PR.
He also acts kind of weird on the topic of her claiming, acting as if she must be town refusing to claim and not really considering her to be scum.

BNL:
Basically the same as me, looks to catch up but sees enough to put Ranger at L-1.
Looks like it could potentially be setting up a 1 for 1.

Note: BNL, Lane and I are all on Ranger, Kop is off.

Honestly this game is not nearly as clear cut as you think, look back at BNL and Kop and tell me you can sort them easily. Let's at least have a discussion before you lynch me.

So take your vote off me because I'm telling you you're wrong and I'm town. You don't have kop sorted and either your read on BNL or lane is wrong. Give me a chance to defend myself because at least one of BNL or kop would be really happy they aren't the ones getting pressured and if they see me at L-1 they will probably hammer me.

Gun to my head I'd say we should lynch kop but I don't see why we have to rush into voting when the day just started and we have not a lot of content from Kop and BNL is still tough to sort. I'm not sold on Lane as town yet, but this is my first game with an SK so I don't really know what to be looking for other than the type of stuff Dave posted.

VOTE: Kop

I don't want anyone at L-1 so no one else should vote him yet.

Ok I think Lane and BNL both genuinely don't know who scum is. That makes kop the scum. Honestly not sure about SK. Does Lane push ranger any differently as SK or town? He would want mafia lynched as much as town does, right?

I really doubt there were 3 scum and 3 town on Char day 1, especially not in that order. Lane, I'm thinking you are town.

Can we talk about night 2 real quick? Why did Tex die and why did JR die? I think it's interesting that JR died with their vote on BNL.

Kop unfortunately didn't give us any reads to go on. You think JR was Kop's kill? I guess that makes sense as JR probably would have taken heat after the ranger flip.

I'm looking through BNLs iso and I see a lot of scummy stuff. The early posting you noted is pretty scummy, it looks like BNL trying to do something.
BNL was basically ignoring ranger on day 2
In mylo, BNL was casually suggesting a no lynch

Hunting PRs is a scum mentality, like Charloux said.

On a side note, I also mildly dislike Lane's #20 as it was a conversation killer between JR, Charloux and Rask.

Appreciate the compliment about finding the Dave slip by the way, unfortunately I was wrong about him being the SK but at least I was sure we weren't lynching town.

And to think, I joined this setup because I wanted something other than Vt...

You acted like you didn't know setup when you would have, even as town.

pedit: I pretty much always re-evaluate at beginning of day. Persivul was looking pretty town to me.
Also here if he knows he is T then he knows it's not vig.

It's not that it's wrong it's just weird to be thinking about if you are a T. Why are you talking about there being a full vig if you know that's not the case?

Really? The whole point of the post was to try to figure out the setup, seems odd he would stop when as T he would know exactly what setup we are in. At first I didn't think about it because I was thinking he could just be the other letter trying to hide it or a v, but once the letters were accounted for I found it again.

I was very nervous on day 3, I really thought we were screwed.

Read what he said again. If he was a T he would know that there is no vig and there is an SK. He says that himself basically.
