Game Rules

(borrowed/adapted from Hoopla and Vel-Rahn Koon)

  1. General

  2. The game will begin with a Day phase.
  3. Whilst the game is ongoing, you may not talk about it anywhere besides this game thread.
  4. You may not communicate with other players in the game privately. If someone tries to contact you outside of the game, you should report it to the Mod immediately. The exception to this rule is the mafia team, who may talk in their quicktopic at appropriate times.
  5. Do not quote/screenshot any communication you have with me, the moderator of the game. You may paraphrase things I have sent you (such as a role title, abilities and results) but direct quoting is not allowed.
  6. If you have any doubt over anything in the rules, please ask me, either in the thread, or by PM.
  7. Please remember that this is a game and your main objective is to have fun! I will remove you from the game (possibly without warning) if you get too personal, or break the rules. Be considerate of each other, don’t get personal, and enjoy the game.

    Voting, Lynching & Death

  8. For your vote to be counted, it must be bold, and in the form VOTE: Player. Using the bbcode vote-tag is preferred but optional; ultimately I will use my own judgement in counting whether a vote is valid or not.
  9. You may UNVOTE: Player or just
    Unvote
. It is not necessary to unvote before changing votes.
  10. A lynch will occur when a player achieves over 50% of the votes. When this has happened, any subsequent votes and unvotes will not be counted, and the game has entered twilight. Night will begin as soon as I have declared the lynch.
  11. The town may opt to 'no lynch' in lieu of lynching a player on any day. VOTE: No Lynch is the format for this. A no lynch also requires over 50% of the votes.
  12. In the event of a deadline ending without a player gaining a majority of votes, there will be
    no lynch
    .
  13. Once you're dead, you are dead. Do not post in the thread until the game is over, not even a 'bah' post.

    Activity & Deadlines

  14. This game is using bankable deadlines. This means that any unused time from a Day Phase carries over to the next day. Day 1 deadline is set for 2 weeks, while every Day Phase thereafter is set for 10 days (before adding any banked time).
  15. Nights will have a standard deadline of 72 hours. They may end early if all night actions have been submitted, and the players who have night actions agree to ending early.
  16. If you have a night action and do not send me your choice, you will be subject to a prod and, if necessary, replacement. If you have a night action and do not wish to use it, please PM me to say this.
  17. I aim to check the activity of all players during the night, and send PMs if I'm not sure. I'd rather not have anyone cleared or condemned due to inactivity. Night replacements will be given "catch-up" time regardless of alignment.
  18. Prods will be issued if you go 48 hours without posting, or under request from players. Multiple prods will probably lead to your replacement.
  19. Things come up in life. If you anticipate being unavailable for more than a 48-hour period please let us know so that you don’t get replaced.
  20. Please remember that you made a commitment to participate when you signed up to play. If you cannot fulfill this commitment, please contact the Mod and request a replacement instead of just disappearing!

    Miscellaneous

  21. Please do not use small/invisible text, stenography or advanced forms of coding/cryptography. Breadcrumbing may be allowed. Please contact me via PM if you're unsure about where the line is.
  22. Any flavour text I write will have no indication of any player's alignment.
  23. I will do my best not to make mistakes, but if I do, please point out and I will correct them if possible.
  24. Do not try to exploit any loopholes there may be in this rule-set. I reserve the right to add, remove or modify existing rules at any time. If this happens, I will let everyone know.
  25. The game thread will be open once everyone has confirmed by PM.

Let me give you a stream-of-consciousness recitation of my reading the thread:

1. Random vote, woo.
2. Random wagon, woo!
3. Wow, that's an L-1 wagon already.
4. ...wait, is that
lynch
already? What? *goes back to recount*

Repeated-equals open-square-bracket close-square-bracket means "the hammer has fallen" to me, not "Hey, somebody hammer!" The latter I generally see written out as "Hey, somebody hammer!"

by Empking
You wouldn't say "Hammer" if you'd hammered but you would if you wanted somebody to hammer. The same aplies for the picture.

The OMGUS still applies.

Clearly you haven't been playing the games I've been playing.

Anyway, I'm off to the shower now, and then probably to the subway - let me know if you see anything interesting while I'm out.

UNVOTE: CSL

WTF, guys? You go running someone up to L-1 on an RVS wagon? At least let talk about how we want to play his before we go charging in and nearly lynching.

The second vote on the wagon just seems like regular Empking, so I don't think much of it. I'm much more interested in why Elli would put someone at L-1 in the third post of the game.

However, Emp's second vote was just awful, and I totally agree that Packbat's response
was not
OMGUS.

The downside is that it can still be easily seen as just regular Empking. I will abstain from voting for now.

P.S. Out of RVS in five posts? That must be some kind of record.
