I couldn't really keep up with this well. I was busy with testing and school during this, so it's probably best I got replaced, but I didn't feel like I got much moderator communication or did I really understand the prodding system.

I was dead wrong on Dave, and that's my fault.

Can you point to those examples? One of my weaknesses as a player is being able to recognize town, so it'd be interesting to see what you saw there.

btw Ranger, one thing which I would say was probably a mistake in hindsight is that you claimed a doc heal on Heartless N1. I definitely get that it was a plausible visit that helped build up your town cred, but I think the price you paid for it was essentially validating Postie's JK claim, which substantially restricted the universe of plausible mafia teams, to the point where (at least IMO) RC became a VERY prominent suspect due solely to the basis of mechanical semi-clears. Honestly, without that specific situation, I might have been pushing for a Titus lynch (presuming a Titus-Postie team as likeliest), and I suspect others would have as well. It's a pretty minor thing, though, and there are probably good reasons to have done it anyway (it's the sort of claim where if RC falls, Titus probably becomes an easier lynch than you), but that's my immediate take.

There was no other protection that made sense with my reads as they were at the end of D1. I also think that, given Postie blocked me N1, it worked out really, really well. I claimed something which Postie verified. I think the only thing that was a mistake in my claim was that I didn't make a stronger note about why Heartless died immediately after they did. The target was always going to be Heartless, and we were always going to kill them, so immediately after they died, it would have helped my claim immensely if I had said something like, "checking with the mod on something real quick".

I ultimately decided that a town-Ranger would be smart enough to

not

give away her role in this manner, and would have simply done the PM to the mod privately, gotten a response of "yes, your action was received", and come to the conclusion of block-or-strongman, and not make any note of it in-thread because there would be no advantage yet a distinct disadvantage. Since the subject of a strongman/roleblock didn't come up until massclaim, a town-Ranger would not have reason to reveal she "knew" one was in play.

To your credit, there wasn't much you could have done. Even if you thought we WERE setting up a quickhammer, even if you were 100% convinced all three of us were scumclaiming, your vote would have placed RC at L-3, and no other members of the town were online, meaning it was gonna happen no matter what.

PS The only way it wasn't going to happen was if Postie or Titus saw it happening and unvoted. But given that it was past midnight Pacific, I'd guess the odds of that were pretty remote (though I suppose I don't know their actual posting times/habits).
