This would force a situation where, say, you have 3 alive and one of them is town. In that scenario, a no-lynch would lead to a serial killer win if Kop chose bulletproof. Even if the town chose to lynch in 3p lylo, if it was BNL lynched, he still wins.

So, optimal play, no matter what, was aiming at town.

For mafia, what they'd be hoping for is to hit town, and end up in 3p lylo, either lynching town (which as you just said, is a mafia win), or lynching the SK (which is, obviously, a mafia win).

It's just unfortunate both kills hit Bellaphant instead of one kill hitting Persivul and one kill hitting Bellaphant, because in

scenario, 4 alive, THEN it would potentially be viable to shoot for scum, but it would also be impossible for the town to have won otherwise.

Nope. It was 4-1-1. If scum kill town and SK kills scum, it's 3-1 mylo and SK just needs one mislynch for the win.

I believed scum were going to go for Persivul because he was a strongish town read, and I gathered with him saying bella was a mason, I guessed he was the other one, and that scum would have went for him. I didn't expect scum to go for bella, so that's why I went with her.

And that would have had a strong town player out of the game, where I might have tried my luck at getting a mislynch.

I didn't see her claim mason, so that's why I presumed Pers was the other mason.

And if both kill different town, it's 2-1-1: town cannot win, and must no-lynch. SK, if bulletproof, cannot be killed. SK kills mafia, and either you get 2-1 (mafia shoots SK), or 1-1 (SK wins). If the SK kills town, you either get 1-1-1 (mafia shot the same town OR shot the SK), or 1-1 (mafia wins).

By the numbers, it's better to shoot town, because there's more scenarios which lead to a SK win.
