CBD 130 comes off as a usable towntell. Redemption broke an important new rule about replacements on page 8 but his whole iso is a pretty easy town tell and honestly people not seeing that at this point come off as consequentially more suspicious to me, as they could easily be scum trying to keep the lynch as a live option. Vorkuta's 346 comes off as confident in a way I don't think scum would tend to deliberately convey, so I lean town him too, even though some of his posts suggest a degree of vanity.
A few users' isos hint at active lurking but I need to digest a little longer before I start throwing stones.
I generally don't like throwing around townreads instead of pointing at scum but that's where my head is atm and I understand that you guys are starving for content atm.You can't step in the same river twice.-

It's just, I feel like since we're at page 19 it's the wrong time to talk about "early in D1". You seem like a reasonably confident person, you believe in your opinions more than a lot of other users here seem to believe in their opinions (I think we're both like that!). I'd expect someone withbothyour confidence and level of sustained engagement in the game to at this point be using your vote a bit more forcefully than to add to a wagon...
I dunno, maybe if I were here from page 1 to now, I'd have a better intuition about this. We did get to page 19 pretty quickly; I guess you think it's mostly useless fluff? You can't step in the same river twice.-

my position is exact opposite of "D1 is boring let's hurry and end it" — rather i'm accusing yall of that
i think your DP and GE wagons along with the idea that there's not enough information in the thread to build any strong reads reflect defeatism about what D1 can doYou can't step in the same river twice.-

active lurking is posting a lot without apparent effort to contribute anything toward the goal of finding/lynching scum; that conflict is often alignment-indicative because while the repeated posting suggests engagement with the game, a lack of effort to scumhunt suggests that such engagement isn't driven by an interest in finding/killing scum. Only good explanations I can think of for that are VIs and scum.
it's qualitatively distinct from unqualified lurking because no conflict like this really happens — a guy who isn't engaged in the game at all can be disengaged for any reason. It's NAI on its own.
honestly it's kind of weird to have to explain this. Before this post, did you not know what active lurking was?You can't step in the same river twice.-

beyond simply being more experienced and therefore being someone who "should know better", penguinpower's passivity w/ respect to scumhunting contradicts his personality to a degree i don't see in other players i'm criticizing
he comes off as a pretty forceful guy and has been pretty forceful itt, but when it comes to the work of finding scum he's a sheep
players like schadd and uzi have had just as much information to work with here as he has, but even if i don't like their tracks they manage to start and focus conversations around scumhunting in a way he doesn't
the follower routine just doesn't match my read of him as a person, his professed humility about what's possible 20 pages into a game be damnedYou can't step in the same river twice.-

like, to write 130 as scum he'd have to really put himself into the mindset of a townie not just beholding the challenge before him; he'd have to anticipate not just the intense distress - a potent mix of frustration, desperation, and hopelessness - someone in his veterany position might feel having to deal with the current meta of gimmicks and spam, but also the kinds of constructive action he might pursue in such a situation under such emotional duress
It really does set up a great explanation for his diluted activity/apparent interest in the game going forward, but hypothetical scum CBD isn't satisfied in just resting on his lurky laurels. He engages with the game, generates and shares substantive and decently reasoned observations about more than just a few slots and their prospects as reads. If he is scum this game he probably already deserves the win. But he's not.You can't step in the same river twice.-

CBD's 130 comes off as town to me because it seems to suggest a basic motive to find/lynch scum but not like in the straightforward way I expect scum to usually to take when they want to convince people they're town — not by like asking questions / pushing a wagon or just calling out anti-town play, though his post has that, but by negotiating internal conflict *through* all that. There's a mix of complicated emotions in there that I don't think scum could easily fake. I don't think CBD would've made it the same way if he were scum, even if he were trying to convey the same ideas. It would've been a much more forgettable, one-dimensional post.
Someone could come in tomorrow and claim a guilty cop result on him and I'd vote the claimed cop.You can't step in the same river twice.-

There's a basic but relatively intricate coherence between personality, behavior, and a hypothetical town win condition in CBD's iso that I don't think comes through in PP's for the reasons I reviewed in 611. My PP read isn't at all as strong as my CBD read, but it's something I feel I gotta be outspoken about since a lot a people are acting like those issues aren't there. You can't step in the same river twice.-

He's just as confused as the rest of yall, but the rest of yall have reliably exhibited way more initiative through most of this game. And again, at the same time, he definitely has the most forceful/opinionated personality of all of you - and arguably is among the most engaged. It'd be NAI if it were someone else, but the behavior doesn't match my read of the kind of person he is.You can't step in the same river twice.-

i just don't think scum would remember at that moment and in that way to pretend they want credit for the wagon
and yeah there's a lot else in your iso that i could point to to justify the read bigger but just like 310 this is where the lightbulb went offYou can't step in the same river twice.-

by initiative i mean broadly he hasn't really *pushed* anything. Even when he's joined wagons he's done so very passively - using noncomittal language, only volunteering rationales when solicited, and so on. Just very go-with-the-flow. And I can pull up a few big examples of not-laidback-at-allness if I gotta. You can't step in the same river twice.-
