Mini 157: The Long Winter - Game Over.

Winter was weighing heavily on the inhabinants of Frigid Waters. Well, the inhabinants who refrained from moving south at the first sign of snow. It was a particulary cold winter, with many feet of snow restricting travel, though the townspeople are able to go from house to house.

The short, grey days have taken their toll, and cabin fever afflicts many. No one suspected how bad it had gotten until the local grocer was found in the town square half frozen and completely dead in a snow bank. Multiple sets of footprints were found around the corpse. It seems that several have cracked and are taking it on the town. The town must act to stop this.

The snow falls softly as sun rises over the town. Just the sort of morning you want to bury yourself deep under your blankets and go to sleep. Alas, the town's morning is shattered as a blast sounds acroos the fallen snow. Everyone jumps out of bed and into their winter wear. Outside, the find an inferno where EnPaceRequiescat's house stood. The town sprung into action, but it was too late. EnPaceRequiescat was dead and his house was a cinder.

Poking around the ruins, you find several guns. The town becomes hopeful; maybe this was one of the killers? As a gaurded optimisim grew, someone fournd a half-burned membership card by the road. It was to the Frigid Waters Gun Club. Looks like he was just a twon member.

As a light snow falls on the town square, the town advances on Uraj45. "But I'm a hypnotist," he explains. "It's a compulsion. I'm not killer." Breifly, the town stopped to consider this. Eventually, somone shouted, "Even if true, a hypnotist could screw up all our attempts to end this!" The town murmured it's assent and grabbed Uraj45. Quickly, they threw a noose up and hung Uraj45.

"That takes care of that," a town's person said. "Let's check out his house." They searched his house, trying to find evidence as to his motives. Nothing could be found; it was almost as if he hid every thing that could be contrued as evidence. The town turned to leave, when someone knocked a painting off the wall. Interestingly, there was a hole there. The nearest person reached in, and found a small metal object. He pulled it out and looked at it. It was a pocket watch, polished to a bright shine.

Uraj45 (Hypnotist) has been lynched.

It was a cold night. The wind howled and the snow fell, but some fought the weather to carry out their secret agenda. In the morning, the town gathered at the town hall. Their spirits were low with the unfortunate lynch of the previous day, and they were hoping to escape the night unscathed. Dragon Phoenix, however, was late.

The town made it's way to his house where they found him shot in the chest, sitting amoung long burned out candles and incense. Searching the house, they found he was a psychic, loyal to the town.

It's Day 2. Five to lynch.

The town advanced on Internet Sranger. "You're doing nothing," one shouted. "Do you even have a job?" Internet Stranger refused. The town decided not to wait for him to change his mind, and strung him up.

After Internet Stranger breathed his last, the town searched him, looking for evidence of his mafia ties. Someone opened his coat. A glint of metal fell out and in a snow bank. After digging it out, the town looked at it and gasped. It was a police badge.

Internet Stranger (Sheriff) has been lynched.

It is now Night 3. Deadline will be announced.

The town wakes up after the long night. Glumly, they congregate at the town hall. Soon, it becomes clear another towns person will not return: MeMe. Without a word, the town walks down to her house as the snow falls.

Arriving, they see her door wide open with a large machete buried in the wood. Caitiously, the town peers inside. MeMe is laying on the ground, a throwing dagger sticking out of her back. Apparently, the killer attacked her as she entered the house. MeMe must have fought back, though, as evidenced the wounds on her arm. Ultimately, it seems she was finally done in when the attacker slit her throat.

Immediatly, many wonder why the killer made such a display of the murder. Those that don't turn away from the carnage notices MeMe still wore her fire fighting coat. Seems she was the fire fighter, still loyal to the town.

It's Day 3. Four to lynch.

The town gathered. Soon, two claimed they knew the other was scum. They both explained how they knew, but oddly enough, neither had anything conclusive. That was enought for the town though; they believed Myopia. They acted quickly, hanging Fuldu before lunch.

After they were dead, they searched him. They found a business card. It read "Fuldu's Guns & Stuff" It looks like he was telling the truth.

The town stood shocked. They turned towards Myopia, unable to understand his betrayal. "I'm innocent," he pleaded. "I can expl-" He was cut off by a gun shot. He looked up, just in time to see Coron fall to the ground and kwyjibo's thoat cut. Three figures remained in front of him: Quailman, holding a gun; KingPin, holding a butcher's knife; and help im a bug holding a bomb. help im a bug quickly planted the bomb on Myopia and jumped back. He never heard the explosion.

The game is over. The mafia win. Roles to come.

Each night, you must change one person's target to a person of your choice. If you don't, a random choice will be made and you will not be notified of it. An interesting game. Going in, I thought the town had the advantage since there were four cops. But they never investigated any of the scum.

I was suprised no one suggested a mass claim at the end; I thought it was pretty obvious the town was in a lynch or lose situation.
