1) How much experience do you have in playing Mafia?
Nooot much. I've played in 3 completed games. Died Day 3 as town in one, won as Mafia in second. Third I died Night 1 as Firefighter Others I had to replace out early.
2) What is the square root of an apple pie?
Apple crumble.
3) Do you prefer playing as mafia or as the town?
Mafia
4) How many licks DOES it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop?
European. Never had one.
5) How would you describe your emotional state coming into this game? Nervous? Confident? Timid? Ambitious?
Nervous with a spoonful of timid.
6) Coke or Pepsi?
Coke
7) Do you prefer to lead or to follow?
Follow.
8) Please describe your playing style, both as scum and as town.
Town I tend to be more hidden among the masses and go with the majority. Bad play, and usually throws suspicion on me, but I always seem to end up that way.
As scum i'm more out there and prominent, which kinda gets me an image as a charismatic player.-

I think the whole voting for a random reason thing starts up some mild conversation between players and the relaxed atmosphere can lead to scum slipping up. It can also allow town players to analyze the language of posts, look at people's meta (which can be a little choppy, but has its uses) and make a case. If I simply posted Vote: XXX for the first 3 pages or so and nothing else, you would get no idea of my style of play or how I make cases, and that could draw attention onto me in a negative way and give you less to make a case on if in a dangerous situation like mylo, lylo or endgame.Netopalis wrote:Mitsuru: I like the cut of your jib, but I do have a question: Why do you think that off-hand justifications like avatars help get us moving in the right direction? Do you honestly feel that they create discussion which leads to the correct identification of scum?
TL;DR: A little content, however shit, works wonders for my analysis.
Nocase, I see your point, and it has gotten a little discussion started, but I still see no real idea of who you are and how you play. I like to use the RVS to get initial impressions and "gut reads", before developing on them in day one and beyond. Not to mention vote hopping and baseless voting- even in the RVS- is gonna draw my attention to you. And not in a good way. If you're scum, yay, no harm done, but if you're town, I've wasted a perfectly good vote/lynch on you.
TL;DR: I don't have a good enough read on you to have a gut read in either direction.-

I understand what you mean, and maybe it's just my playstyle, but I'm just someone who likes a little logic to be displayed when voting, and not kept secret. If you end up catching scum, all well and good, but I can't help but feel a little suspicion. I know it's how you play, but that's all there is to it for me.
Who are you facepalming at?-

I can live with Kira.
Nat doesn't seem very concrete with his opinions. Everythings slightly this, slightly that, or a null tell altogether. Why post an all round player opinions list... only to tell us you've got no real opinions? Consistency and saying what you mean is town, in my book. It would have been better to post the players you see as scummy and leave it at that at such an early stage of the game.
TL;DR: Text walls don't equal quality. Be concrete before you post your reads.-

We're getting really mixed up here. Everyone's forming into groups of three with their suspicions, with not enough on any side to get a lynch. It's the reason I'm not voting. I'm aware this game can get a little cliquey, but still.
However, Nat's last vote seems kinda OMGUS-y. I don't want to be accused of buddying, but nocase's statement about a replacement seems more joking than serious.FOS: nat.
TL;DR: We're going nowhere fast.-

Like I said in my post explaining my play, I go along with what seems like the best lynch. I'm a follower, not a leader. I have given a little content, it's just not immediately obvious.Mitsuru:
No real content. Attacks Nat after he's proven to be easily excited and a probable easy lynch target. Seems content to just comment rather than to analyze. Given his earlier posts, this is a disturbing trend that makes me think that he really doesn't have anything to say since he can't attack the real scum.
Vote: Mitsurufor now.-

Yes, I go for an "easy lynch target" but I believe Nat is scum. Mainly because any defense he has is pretty choppy and overly reliant on chance. The chance that he might be a newbie instead of making scumslips. If so, why didn't he join a Newbie game? The chance that he missed a whole page. If so, why wasn't an EBWODP immediately posted. Surely you would notice that the post above is different.
I'm guilty of IOA. It's a mistake I commonly make. And I'm a follower who often bandwagons. If something makes sense, it's usually true, and those defending Nat as a newbie are a little too reliant of chance for my liking. And on another note, Nat has dropped off the radar since the heat fell off him.
TL;DR: Chance isn't a fine thing, and I make newbie mistakes. Shoot me. Or... don't.-

I don't have a second suspect. If Nat came out scum, I'd be looking to the quieter players such as yourself and Nexus. If he came out town, unsure
Also, I'm not saying he relies on chance. I'm saying any defending qualities do. That he missed page 7 and might be a newbie, even though he joined a non newbie game. It' a little reliant on chance.-

1. An EBWODP to lol rather than point out that a votecount had passed without a fake daykill taking place. Be more concise, mmkay?
2. Relying on the chance that you might be making newbie mistakes and the chance you missed a page.
3. Choppy is unlikely and full of holes, and can be seen in answer 2.
4. You didn't use newbie as a defense. Others did.
5. Of course you have to defend yourself. We all do.
6. Your whole language and interrogation is off. It could be newbtown, but you asking someone with almost no suspicion on them to claim because of what could easily be a joke post even before page 7 had shown up reeks of scummy behavior.
Also, I asked you to claim because you were t L-1. Claims can save you if you're close to lynch.
Not to mention your FOS reeks of OMGUS.-

Woah. Since when were you leading the town? You seem to be trying to influence any lynch but your own. Whether it be slowsilver today or horrordude tomorrow, you aren't even giving reason from why these lynches should be taking place. Saying +scumpoints for XXX isn't a case.Nathanael wrote: more scumpoints for slowsilver.
nocase, we lynch horrordude tomorrow, today is slowsilver's turn.
You've suddenly switched from defensive to all guns blazing, and I really don't like it. Even if it's not scummy, it's anti town. Post a goddamn case.-

Dying on your scumday. Tough break.
Aaaanyways, I saw this coming. We're in a 12 player setup. Meaning we likely have 4 mafia. Possibly 3 and an arsonist judging by nocase's death
Suspicion fell on myself, slowsilver, Nexus and Nat yesterday, and a little on BV towards the end. Why would I draw attention to myself with a risky quickhammer when I could easily have diverted attention onto one of the other suspects by staying more on the sidelines? That would have been my tactic had I been playing as scum. Anyways, WIFOM etcetc.
And if we had a cop claim out of slowsilver, I can guarantee you that at least 3 people would have screamed fakeclaim, myself included. And another few would have cried WIFOM, making for confusion and probably a no lynch.
I dropped the hammer by accident. If you're gonna focus on that as your case, then it's a pretty poor attempt. I'm human. I make mistakes. Get over it.-
