Welcome to Mini #1471: Rural Mafia

Way out in the middle of nowhere is a teeny tiny town with a teeny tiny population. The only help the Townspeople have out there is themselves, their pitchforks, and some strong hangin' ropes. Now, they haven't used them hangin' ropes for over sixty years, but they're about to need them again - the Mafia has infiltrated the Town! Several of the Townspeople are traitors(!) working to kill the rest so that the teeny tiny town can be used as a trade stop in the drug trade. Does the stress drive anyone crazy? Is yoga devil worship? Will the Mafia control the town? Where the hell is this place, anyway?

Rules (stolen from literally everyone who has ever modded a game on this site at some point):
1. All sitewide rules/guidelines apply.
2. I'm using this colour, try not to use it or I'll assume you're impersonating me.
3. Communication about this game is not allowed outside of this thread, excepting in Mod-supplied locations.
4. Don't quote things about this game that come from outside of the thread. You may paraphrase. Use good judgement.
5. Breadcrumbing and other forms of in-thread communication are fine. Don't do anything weird and encrypted though.
6. Prods will be issued after 72 hours, or 48 on request (requested prods for a time period less than 72 hours will not be counted as "official" prods). If you don't post for 24 hours after a prod, you will be replaced.
7. Players with three "official" prods will be replaced.
8. Players on V/LA will not be prodded until 48 hours after their V/LA ends.
9. Days 1 and 2 will be three weeks long. Subsequent days will last two weeks. Nights 1 and 2 will be three days in duration. Subsequent nights will last two days. The scum may elect to shorten the night by 24 hours, provided all night actions have been submitted. Daystart PMs will be provided.
10. Votes must be bolded/votetagged.
11. Lynches require simple majority (50% + 1). No lynch will occur if this is not reached by deadline. You may also vote no-lynch. No-lynch will also require simple majority.
12. Once a lynch has been reached, all living players and the lynched player may continue talking until the flip is posted.
13. If actions are not submitted by deadline they are forfeit.
14. Flavour is not relevant. At all. It's the same tinytown stuff that has been run in the Normal sections

Just want to point out as the general arguments continue that there is a site rule about what is and isn't acceptable as far as things you can say to people (think insults, name-calling, etc.). and for the record, I do sort of think the mod tip'd their hand by saying Target's slot was expendable. Maybe he didn't realize he did, but by saying that the slot isn't important enough to replace is essentially confirming it's a town slot. No respectable mod would just allow a scum member get lynched when they only have 3 total.

It was quite a day. So many townspeople were moving out and moving in that it started to become hard to tell the normal, innocent family men from the terrors of the night, the sane from the insane, the good from the bad, or the truth from the lies - but that didn't stop anyone from trying. People began to battle with bouts of paranoia, and a Cold War-era program was quickly set up. Neighbours turned on neighbours, family upon family, as reporting someone else might just make you safer for once.
Eventually this became too much, and all the citizens of the teeny tiny tiny town, good and bad alike, began to set traps for one another...

And so it was that one of them tripped, fell, and shot himself in the foot with his own gun.
As several citizens had shot themselves in the past, no-one thought much of it. But when they began to move him, intending first aid, they discovered 6 kilos of cocaine strapped to his body.
So they lynched him instead, and rid themselves of a killer and the expense of bandages in one fell swoop.

Having lynched a killer, the townies slept soundly in their beds. As a new day dawned the citizens gathered in the town square, only to find that, bizarrely, several of their number were missing.

After the previous night's escapades the town was no longer interested in questions. What they wanted was results, dammit!
Fortunately the results seemed to come quite quickly, in the form of one citizen dropping a bag which proceeded to explode into white powder.

Unfortunately, cocaine doesn't actually do that, and as they discovered later, it was just confectioner's sugar.

Lynching one of their own brought home to the townies the reality that there was a great deal to lose - their town, their culture, and even their very lives.
So it was really the greatest possible misfortune that their kindest neighbour, the one who always had cookies and could make them laugh when they were down, turned up dead on the very steps of the town hall.

At least, they thought it was her. Difficult to tell without a face to go by.

Another quick discussion ensued; some of the townsfolk didn't even manage to get more than a word or two in edgewise as the finger-pointing began.

At some point the nuh-uh/yuh-huh nature of the discussion grated on one of the townie's nerves a little too much.
With a cry of, "I'll show you guys!" he launched himself straight into the brand-new noose they had reserved for the day's suspect.

What a pity he was completely harmless after all.

The day dawned bright and early over a shiny new world. The dew on the grass, the beautiful colours of a sunrise, the heavy perfume of the early flowers, and all the cliches as well.

Oh, and a couple of bodies.
Both of which were extremely odd - one seemed to have two heads, and the other was a gentleman with red eyes.
Closer examination revealed that the two-headed body was exactly as it appeared. The redness of the other's eyes was discovered to be due to the irritation of his contact lenses.

Or the cocaine he'd clearly been sampling. That probably helped.
