I just find it so hard to produce cases on people that I'm scumreading like Masquerade and these are nearly always the people that flip scum.
I can't put it into words easily because it's a complex mix of factors.

Here's some things to sell you guys on it.

1) His reaction to pressure is terrible:

Since I started pushing him he's made one post and it was to put pressure on the person who was already the leading wagon.
He hasn't responded to me, he hasn't called me out, he's just pushed someone who was already getting pushed and tried to keep it quiet.
That is scum who doesn't think they can win a battle of words with me so is just trying to stay on the down low.

2) His scumhunting really doesn't seem sincere.

There's a bunch of insincere, not really AI, dead end questions that don't get followed up on:

I thought choof was kind of towny with his push on the miller-claim, wouldn't expect scum to attract attention to themselves that way. Reading it again in iso, I don't really agree he backtracked but I do agree he looks scummy. He is very much against the miller-claim and wants it PL'ed Day 1 yet isn't voting or pushing for a lynch. In retrospect I also dislike the active lurk-vote he placed on RC. It was very early to accuse anyone of active lurking. Sucks he replaced out.

Last two are weaker examples but still same boat:

I never played with a miller before so I don't know how to respond to it and for now am just ignoring it. His claim looks sincere enough and there's no other reason to doubt it. I'm against PL'ing it day 1, if Rhaegar is town he should be able to show us that.

I like 58 by Choof. Early careful townlean. (Could easily be faked by experienced scum but for now I'm going to assume that post was genuinely made with townmotivation)

And there's lots of things that really don't feel like town thought processes, such as:

It feels opportunistic like 'everyone is townreading Rhaegar so we probably won't get him misslynched so lets townread him too then and kill him when he gets dangerous'

What changed was me talking to emogirl and later Panther's 369 where he first talks about believing Rhaegar's claim and having a careful townread, then concluding with wanting him lynched before lylo/mylo. Feels like he took a towny-looking response to the claim but still keeping the option of lynching him open.

Specifically, this obsession here with other people's townreads being insincere feels like projection.

3) Tons of IIOA (And I've played with Masq before and it's not a standard part of his play):

Don't have any. I'm here to lynch scum, not to puzzel out where the PR's are.

I'm against PL'ing it day 1, if Rhaegar is town he should be able to show us that.

I actually agree with yessiree here. In my own scumperience it's easier to post townreads and then kill them off at some point, than commit to scumreads early on.

4) Lack of any posts that truly show desire to solve the game:

This is the big one for me and it's an absence thing not a presence thing.
Not one of his posts looks like someone who is trying to solve the game.

Like I feel like this is a game of people who won't 'get' the fact that unless scum are poor players there's no smoking guns.
There's not going to be major read slipups and in fact those are more likely from town than scum tbh.

I'm reading Panther as Town. Some posts (696 is one example) show clear evidence of reading and rereading the thread and changing opinions appropriately.

I don't really want to vote Masquerade either, though. The reaction to Radiant in 664 felt genuine to me. I also think that he's voting for PantherPunt for what appears to be a misunderstanding over different approaches to the Miller claim.
