Jester:
Take a deep breath. I know you don't want to see Ryan lynched, for whatever reason, but someone has to be lynched, or town loses an oppurtunity to kill scum.
I voted Ryan because I saw he was at, I thought, -1. I just replaced into the game, remember.
Also: Jdodge was the only person to respond to my 'policy lynch' question. Why didn't you?
As to why he was being voted before? No clue, haven't read, haven't spoken with my predecessor. Don't even know who my predecessor is.
The huge tantrum that seems to be based around Ryan's possible lynching in (so many) hours is bizarre and unexplicable, as is the request to be replaced. If he is scum, I'm advocating a Jester or Jester's replacement tomorrow.
If someone else votes DeathSauce, I'm willing to switch over. Why is he a good policy lynch? I've played with JDodge and Ryan before and can figure out why jdodge thinks so.
destructor - 'half decent players' don't ask to be replaced on a whim. Sorry, personal theory there, but if jester's perogative is only to play while the playing is good, then we will have to struggle on without his input. He seems fairly well worded and intelligent, but his impulsiveness, if town, would probably just endanger the town later on in the game anyways.
So we have two votes (equivalently four if someone else votes him) on deathsauce, and three on ryan. We need four on one of them before deadline hits to get any sort of lynch.
Mod: Please change title to reflect imminent deadline, and prod all players not posted since your last vote count-

What do you want me to explain? My vote on Ryan?
I saw the vote count and saw he was at 3, and thought the deadline was too close to get a good bandwagon on anyone, so, I voted him. I then realized that according to that vote count, i was already voting him, so i made a post trying to hide my shame of not having a clue about what i was doing in the game.
I also asked if there were any policy votes, jdodge responded. Nobody else did. JDodge always goes crazy and thinks I am scum, and unlike other games with him there is not going to be a cop to clear me.Voting ryan does not help me in the long run if jdodge is town; getting rid of one policy vote makes me more likely to be his next.
Also, in open 35, it was said repeatedly after the game ended that ryan should have been lynched when they had the chance, in the beginning of the game. I guess that is still fresh in my mind.
I am trying to think of other reasons I voted ryan, but have none.
Unvote, Vote Deathsauce, as promised. I'm willing to flip back and forth between theses to and any other players that get to two or three votes, or more, including myself. We need to move the game forward. Lynching an unhelpful player day one in a mountainous game traditionally is a Good move; no chance of them being a power role.-

TylerJ - then we shouldn't, theoretically, lynch at all until there are only five of us left, becasue at 5 people there will be a much higher percentage of lynching scum then of town. Right? Wrong. There's no reason to assume one person is town over another, being eager to lynch ryan or deathsauce is only scummy if YOU know they are town. So: *fos*-

destructor, jester :
Do you guys always replace out of games that aren't going smoothly?
Open 19, a similar game, had a plague of replacements and almost stalled out a couple times, but, we stuck together and managed a win.
It can hapen here, too. Give it a chance, you'll learn something about yourself.-

What kind of information do you want? Cop investigations?
IT doesn't work that way. Not in this game, anyways. Information we get is from lynching - that's the information the town can choose to get. Forexample, if ryan IS sscum, i know exactly who his partner is. can't figger that out if we don't lynch though.-

But you are voting destructor for wanting to have a lynch day one. You on the other hand want evidence against Ryan. I think in the long run, you have a more-antitown view than ryan or destructor.
Teh town gets information by lynching people. We work by eliminating possible threats, and meanwhile scum kill off people they think are threats ; how many people would you prefer the scum to be allowed to kill before you think its okay to lynch?-

I'd be willing to vote destructor, too.
Why?
Well I wouldn't expect you guys to believe me but I intentionally stirred crap up day one, to get the game started. WE have no knowledge day one, so any lynch is as good as any other. It was only after day 2 started that we have ANY information (there are no cops, remember), and that information is derived from what happened day one.
The only people who honestly have any reason NOT to lynch other people day one, are the two scum, and they want to avoid lynching each other.
Hoenmstly, think about it:
If you are a townie, do you really carae who else gets lynched, day 1? Do you have any reason to defend anyone, regardless of how they are acting?
Which is why the people defending dryan are more likely scum.
I know it sounds backwards. But it's da troof.
Also pwayne shuld probably die at some point for setting up the wifom to get me killed last night.-

Flameaxe: Saying town can be a dick as much as scum is not a good defense. Perhaps a better response would be not acting like a dick. AKA : Don't pull the Battle Mage defense. Or I will call you Battle Mage and try to get you lynched constantly.
Also, I'm a day-miller.
Also: Don't ridicule people for not scum hunting; I believe you refuse to scum hunt as a policy.
Elmo:
I started the wifom? I beg to differ. I called out what Pwayne was doing by makign it openly obvious. I was pretty sure one of us would be killed after that, which was fine - someone had to go. But PWayne definitely instigated it by trying to reason that if I died during the night it would look bad on him; pwayne as scum would want to kill me more than others in the first place after mini 499, so i was pretty suspicious of that.
avinashv: JDodge, Flameaxe, and to a lesser extent PEG are not going to be helpful. They demand that everyone else scum hutn for them and then ridicule them when they do. Ignore them, and pretend you are a private eye, deep in the seedy underbelly of a scum cartel. The only person you can rely on is yourself.
destructor: you attacked me day 1 for wantign to bandwagon onto players that other players wanted to meta on, but now you want to do that on jdodge. At least, I'm pretty sure it was you who was suspicious of my rampant bandwagoning. Why the change?
JDodge:
vsJDodge wrote: I have a better idea. How about we play the game instead of voting based on bullshit metareasons! Yeah!
???JDodge wrote:

So does anyone have any policy-lynches they would like to advocate, it being day one?America

Well as unhelpful as he may be, I'm sure that if he is town, he's playing at the best of his ability. HE's taking the risk of getting lynched by choosign to act how he does; I'm sure he's considering that. Maybe he has something up his sleeve.
LIKE A GUN OMG KILL HIM!!!
Ha. But really, how he chooses to play the game isn't for us to judge, avinashv.-

Late in the game lynches need to be accurate, but early in the game, any sort of wagon is acceptable. You might be all fussy and fos me for saying such a blasphemous thing, but let's be honest. The reactions everyone had to the wagon yesterday are MUCH more useful than the townie who got lynched. I wouldn't have said that a year ago when I was fresh and idealistic, but after a lot of experience I have learned that it is best to focus on interaction in the beginning of the game, and NOT accuracy.destructor wrote:Any lynch is totally not as good as any other. Lynching someone's who's being terribly anti-town, obviously scummy or stupidly unhelpful is far better than lynching some random person a mindless wagon has formed on.
And only scum really know who is or isn't scum, and you are basing your opinion on what? Did you explain yesterday what about Ryan made him likely town? Not saying you didn't - merely curious.destructor wrote:
No, I honestly have a reason not to lynch someone I don't believe is scum.Skruffs, cont. wrote:The only people who honestly have any reason NOT to lynch other people day one, are the two scum, and they want to avoid lynching each other.
Late in the game it is far better to get a player, any player, in a vanilla game lynched than allow it to go to night. Who were you pushing when Ryan was under attack? Also, your opinion of 'scummy' is notably flawed. You made an explicit point of sayign that you were intending to go after me today, I think (someone did anyways) though I was confirmed town; this is another reason I am interested in seeing you lynched; you are basing you 'pro town' and 'scum' tells on very shallow reasons.destructor wrote:
When viewing this person in the context of the other players around them in the game, absolutely yes. Do you seriously think it's pro-town to let a player be lynched when other are more suspicious?Skruffs, cont. wrote:Honestly, think about it:
If you are a townie, do you really care who else gets lynched, day 1? Do you have any reason to defend anyone, regardless of how they are acting?
Absolutely not. Why would you infer that I am saying that? I am inferring that the scum are more likely to try and build brownie points with the town by lightly defending pro-town players and fossing those that are attempting to scum hunt. Absolutely scum need to be lynched, day one if possible, but unless someone makes a spectacular tell or a specialized one that someone can snag onto and use against them, it's *unlikely to happen* simply based on all of us having NO information to go after. And again, you just kind of 'cleared' ryan, when you have no reason to do that; that makes you more likely to be scum.destructor wrote:
It's not da troof at all. I don't understand why you'd feel this way at all. You're suggesting that the Day 1 lynch is inevitably doomed to be a mislynch. I'd rather we tried to lynch scum at any point in the game.Skruffs, cont. wrote:Which is why the people defending dryan are more likely scum.
I know it sounds backwards. But it's da troof.
And I just checked to see why Ryan wasn't posting; apparently I've replaced him. So yeah.
PWayne's flippancy strikes me as nervous scum, too.
Elmo: I think the bvulk of this post adds onto my previous sentiments.-

This was in february.TylerJ wrote:asking for replacementsorry guys. Finals coming up and mlay production is nearing show time.
Why did TylerJ drop out of my realm of perspective? I don't know, because, maybe, by actively scum hunting you have to have something to hunt on? When he's replaced, I'll scrutinize his replacer.-

So I'm suspicious for not making the same point to the same person twice?
I don't get it. I already told TylerJ that - did he continue to act in the manner I reprimanded him for? Wether he did or didn't, if you then started acting in the same manner, and then asked why I wasn't attacking him for it, doesn't that mean you intentionally acted in a scummy manner?-

JDodge : if you hadn't thought of the nolynch idea yestesrday - then why were you not voting at deadline? BEcause not lynching yesterday is exactly the reason why you want to nolynch today.
TSPN: You were voting me, the ONLY person voting me, yesterday. So you also helped contribute to a nolynch yesterday. Now because we nolynched yesterday, you want to nolynch today.
EFfectively, both of you wanted to give the scum two kills and strip the town of two kills.
How do you plead?-
