loosely followed this

postie's idea behind the setup where a lot of importance is shifted to the night game is a pretty neat one. and one that i had before, in fact: http://forum.mafiascum.net/viewtopic.php?f=84&t=33689

BUT

the setup probably could've been better balanced. massclaim was obviously optimal b/c it created two different lynch pools that would sink scum if the game went on long enough. it effectively made the game white flag. the fact that: 1) the scumteam was fragmented and 2) scum didn't have daytalk, kinda' cut scum off at the knees and didn't let them coordinate claims.

there was also the weak bg. in this case it didn't end up mattering since the titus/fourtrouble slot never ended up doing anything (which may have been a smart move here given town were ahead in the count most of the game) but anybody with at least semi-decent townreads drawing that role would've been game breaking. scum probably needed a 1-shot strongman or something to make it not optimal for them to claim on day 1.

the consequences were that it didn't leave scum with much room for error at all. it was either going to be a perfect scum sweep or a town curbstomp. so yeah... i probably didn't think things through as much as i should've in the review. my bad.

Ah, a town win! Honestly I believe this could've ended up easily a scum win, if it weren't for the heavy setting up of protection targets. Anti has a point...I'd say balance in this game was questionable. Reminds me of the other game with multiple Trackers that I played in .

Town did great!

Scum team - I'm sorry that Exp & Tell, had to be scum . They seemed to highly dislike playing scum based on their behavior in this game, and who could blame them? I don't ever like being mafia scum...that's not to say it doesn't have its fun moments. Apr I'm not sure, I think she secretly enjoys it more than beig town. :wink:

I think the setup was meh, the only part that bothered me was that I couldn't kill the players I wanted 'cuz bodyguards and everyone was like "wow bellaphant what an odd kill" when the pool was limited. The town played well and cleared people during the day though, we did have a chance to win.

Nah Performer, I do like them about the same. I didn't particularly enjoy being lonescum as I said in the dead PT...a lot of the fun in being scum, to me, comes from getting to plan with the whole team and being by myself was pretty lonely and stressful. I still tried obviously but aside from the RC push it was more of a token effort on my part after TTH died.

Also I missed that town could win without killing me if they got all the goons until it was too late, and that's pretty much the only reason I ended up bussing. Wouldn't have done that if I'd known.
