If I'd been more on top of this game, I certainly would have asked 611 to claim Doctor there.In post 1504, Postie wrote:I think apathy hurt scum a lot here. That 611 lynch was definitely avoidable.- Dwlee99

B-But that one game... where I gave you a double vote... ;____;In post 1506, Luna Fox wrote:Postie should learn to trust me more u.u
At least I trusted you in the end.
Also wow, this is the first game I've played where I ended up superhardtownreading every single person except scum (if we're counting conftowns as townreads, anyway). I wasn't kidding when I said I would have had no clue what to do if Dier flipped town. Good job, townies.Discourse is fleeting, but junk mail is forever.- Luna Fox

I think the balance was okay, i think i was right in thinking that a scum role to nullify 2 town roles would be too scumsided.In post 1508, Dwlee99 wrote:You're welcome for hosting the game! @Mod
The only thing that I'd perhaps question is the inclusion of the 1-Shot Tracker role, which doesn't provide much value to Town but gives me a headache claiming my role. The early loss of the Doctor probably made me think that the Follower was stronger than it really was (since that would have been a fairly consequential false result, while the Vigilante is a fairly inconsequential false result due to the ability to self-confirm).
Overall it's probably fairly balanced; if Aristophanes had shot a Mason, the game could have been much different, and the 611 lynch was our error since the Doctor claim probably would have succeeded.- Dwlee99

Yea, I think I should have made the 1-shot tracker a 1-shot watcher instead.In post 1512, Dierfire wrote:@Mod

1-shot watcher is really strong though, I'd say better than a 1-shot tracker, and still suggets that there aren't multiple investigatives. masons NOT having day chat helps reduce their power, so in this setup that's probably good (though day talk for them w the 1-shot tracker going VT instead could work too). maybe for wifom a 1-shot vig alongside the regular vig, or maybe a 1-shot RB for possible power interference.Showhttp://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?title=Mhsmith0

Say, who wants to read something funny?
I wrote this in advance for if Luna Fox reached L-1 too early.
The underlining is new.
VOTE: Luna Fox
@Aristophanes
If you’re not a Serial Killer, then I suppose that I’m about to get ruined.
If you are a Serial Killer, read on!
I’m going to shoot beeboy tonight. If you shoot me, the game will continue after my death and you will be lynched as the Serial Killer. If you shoot no one, I will be lynched with five players living and the game will continue after my death, leading to your lynch with three (or four) players living. If you shoot beeboy, it is equivalent to not shooting anyone. Therefore, you must shoot a Town player other than beeboy to continue.
Tomorrow will be 1:2:1 and no lynch will be possible (the Town players will recognize that lynching either of us leads to the other winning, and they control sufficient votes that we cannot lynch without them.
I can hold my shot the following night. This will create a situation in which you cannot shoot me (you will be lynched by the remaining Town players). If you shoot no one, we get locked in a cycle. For this reasonI offer a three-way drawto which all players will publicly agree tomorrow.
Spoiler: Dealing with Defection
@Town Players
I will require you to publicly agree to a draw tomorrow. If you fail to do so, I will shoot one of you the next night, which will allow Aristophanes to win (and you would therefore lose).
IN SUMMARY
If Aristophanes is a Vigilante, everyone laughs at Dier for poor judgment.
Otherwise, Aristophanes must shoot a Town player other than beeboy to avoid losing.
Subsequently, I will force every player to agree to a draw by offering the game to the opponent of any player who refuses.- kraska77

Oh my god we did it!!!!
Kraska, #SorryNotSorry
I was so close to shooting Dier with my second (and final) shot and then blew it. Glad we came back strong! =D
This was a lot of fun, and the setup gave us a lot of possibilities for both teams, depending on who rolled which role.
Also, Dier, that wall is amazing XD

Good job guys. That last post where Dier voted me before his lynch literally gave away his scum position to me, hence my vote of him. I didn't want to say it outright, but that post was bad in so many ways that I couldn't possibly see town!Dier doing it. I mostly town read Dier up until that point just because I was scum reading others that would have made Dier town via PoE, otherwise Dier hadn't done anything that was really all that townie in the first place.
As for Luna, I just hated your reaction to my setup spec. I wasn't expecting it. I was expecting you to be more understanding about it(such as telling me where I was off and explaining diligently and all that) if you were town instead of "SARU SCUM OMG" which just felt really over the top. I'm terrible at setup spec(which I stated previously) and so when I saw that reaction, I felt good about myself that I had hit the nail on the head. Plus, your insistence that you shouldn't be lynched because you didn't want to lose a streak of not being ML'ed as town was just straight up annoying me. No joke. I hate reasoning like that, no matter who's saying it. More of a personal thing though. Lastly, I was doing some re-reading and when I saw MURDER grilling you D1 for jumping off the 611 wagon, I guess I started to conf-bias a little. Seriously, if we lynched you and you turned out scum, I would be singing high praises for MURDER lmfao.
This is a pretty good read of me, however, you're right, I learn from my mistakes and I do change up a lot from game to game. That's mainly why when I had a wagon on me near the start of the game, I chose not to wall and lose it and play it calm, which I guess helped. But 611 also chose to do the same, but I guess his replacing out might have looked bad? It did for me, and that's why I hammered. This is also why I chose not to wall on Luna to try to get her lynched, and instead attacking her post for post. Plus, walls just take too much time for my own sanity.Dierfire wrote:I've just finished a game with Saru. Place votes on him with extreme caution. Even without a vote, he tends to have extreme/exaggerated reactions to other players expressing suspicion of him. Fortunately, this also means that he can get distracted and fight other Town players. Even better, he tends to go after said players with long walls of text, which could help create clutter in the thread. Two cautionary notes: I've only played the one game with Saru, and he seemed like the kind of player to learn from his mistakes, so this might become less rather than more true over time; additionally, his reads are not bad when he's not engaging in OMGUS thinking.
Also Dier, can I just say that reading your inner thoughts in the mafia PT after your mafia partners died was so much fun lol. I love stuff like that.
Lastly, thanks Dwlee for modding! You're very prompt with answering questions and whatnot, so I appreciate that!Currently Playing:
