I think ya did fine with it.

Maybe be free-er with sharing reads? The reads of a single person are not really that important for scum to know.
tbh. I didn't like fish "do this or else" attitude about it, and I probs would not have gone along either. It's a playstyle thing tho, and not really scummy unless the person is otherwise reasonable.

Some people get a large benefit reads-wise from free exchange of ideas, but that is a select crowd, and I don't think either fish or you are members.
Neighborhood is also a good place to speculate about things it would be anti-town to talk about in the open. (like PR spec). It's pretty unlikely that ya giving away any info that scumteam doesn't already have, since they gonna be specifically looking for that stuff anyways.

Next time don't go along with people because ya think ya gonna get NK'd otherwise. Getting KN'd is a good thing as VT and that is basically what a neighbor is.

If ya gambiting in the main thread and yer target doesn't seem to be partners with yer target, say ya are gambiting in the neighborhood. Then yer neighbor can bail ya out if it goes wrong?

Alternatively ya might consider doing the Mastina thing and simply treating it like a masonry from the start.
The potential damage done if you are wrong can be much smaller than the potential benefit if ya happen to be right.
Ya need a partner who would be willing to go along with it tho.

I was scum JOAT with Piper with a neighborizer shot, and I neighborized them on the logic of "if we were scumpartners, that is simply an insane thing to do".
We used it for a townie-larping basically, but I think it's pretty much what I would try to do in an actual neighborhood.

(I simulated a version of the neighborhood gambit I talked about earlier. Plan was this: "neighborize night1; fakeclaim stronger JOAT without BP and use BP night2; claim guilty on neighbor if there is skipped kill". By happenstance I 'caught' my scumpartner with it, but obviously didn't claim the 'result' in main thread. )

Basically, neighborhood is a place where ya can say stuff ya know will get ya scumreads in the main thread, but that ya know your neighbor doesn't scumread.
Being familiar with the person ya are talking with is a HUGE benefit.

More specifically about yer clash with fish:

I think it was a mismatch of playstyles, and there was nothing really ya could have done to prevent it since "be a completely different person" isn't really a thing anyone can do.

If ya can foresee things going in similar direction there is nothing wrong with saying "I don't think this neighborhood is gonna be at all useful and I'm not gonna write anything in here". It is a pretty common attitude to neighborhoods in general.

I tried to find stats on how common t+t neighborhoods actually are versus t+s neighborhoods.
Couldn't find any on cursory search, but my intuition is that t+t is way more common.
