Admittedly it wasn't smart play but to me, putting yourself at L-1 on page one isn't either. And came across very clearly as a scum ploy to draw off early heat for awhile. Sometimes instinct works in the end.

Very risky play by Korts, and it sucks that IcE claimed when he really shouldn't have. I guess his play meant that he was going to be dead anyway, he just thought he could get away with it.

yeah i thought it was a town tell. the game was pretty clearly beginning to stall a bit, with nothing but random votes and non game related comments at one another, and it looked to me like he was doing something to give the game some real momentum, which is definitely pro town (well, that is what he was doing, but it didn't mean what i thought it meant). i didn't say anything to begin with, or unvote immediately, because i thought reactions would be valuable, and that scum would be the ones clammering to policy lynch korts for self voting.

basically, the opposite of what i thought was going to happen ended up happening.

I asked rofl because he said:

and I wanted to know what he meant by being "wrong". Both he and Korts were very mysterious about the whole ploy. I know the defence (true in rofl's case at least) is that they were waiting for reactions, but their 'oh I know but I'm not going to tell you' thing had more impact on my opinions of them than the selfvoting move itself, in that I immediately found them more suspicious.
