Wrong. Target obvtown, that way scum is disincentivized from shooting them but they can be reasonably be assumed to be town anyway, at least D1. That way scum is forced to help us if they want to get rid of the unlynchable slot. Otherwise, you get to be a good boy.

Besides, we're not going to get a huge amount of information from one night and one flip. It's more important to narrow people down into the groups than to worry about actually figuring out sanities D1 and D2, so that we can determine if we have a pool of conftown.

So here's my idea:

- Everybody investigates the same target and reveals results so we can compile/compare/analyze.

- The chosen target should be the towniest person by consensus - that's what we should be discussing once we've decided on a lynch but

before the hammer.

This is because…

- Mafia won't want to target that person because then results can be compared to flip (town or scum), so it's also a soft protection.

But we WANT our investigation target to die sooner rather than later.

I totally disagree about the "towniest player" theory of the game.

I believe that if the targets don't die, and it will become a huge mess of unknown/uncertain information and gives the scum a lot more flexibility to make tactical maneuvers.

I think our strategy should be blunt: Mass investigate one target, out reports, lynch. Then we can start hashing out the data right away and give the scum less time to plan.

I'm going to assume that, given the setup, there is a janitor-like role that hides the flips of nightkills as well.

So, given all that, I think we should mass investigate the penultimate

My understanding is that town wins these kind of cop games by mass investigating and then cross-checking results, regardless of the mix of cops, we should be able to figure some things out with a good spreadsheet (which we can't build if we don't get flips).

I'm not suggesting that we supplant scumhunting. We lynch the scummiest player, and just pick someone who we think are unlikely the mafia will nightkill. This is important due to janitor concerns.

Sanity randomness make results unreliable whether they are on mafia or town players. That doesn't persuade me that we should investigate those whom we think are town. Chances are

The "doc protection" is an illusion anyway. Town has one mechanic here that it has control over: reports. I say we use that mechanic.
