ungun, gun semioldguy
. To get this moving.

The double-lynch plan is intriguing, but I'd rather he just kill someone he thinks is scummy. Less complicated, less bickering. Let's lynch someone.

@gateway- my vote wasn't random. I don't like the way hero wants us to set up a needlessly confusing kill mechanism that will (frankly) only encourage people to pay less attention. We dont' have that long to make a decision, and NO ONE is voting. hero is being anti-town by delaying the process of trying to get someone lynched.

Honestly? My opinion is "who cares", a lynch is a lynch.

I do know that we're on page 5 and only two people have voted. So, you know, maybe this doesn't matter yet.

Recap:

24- evilevilmatt proposes gun to semioldguy
30s- more gun votes for semi
60s- gateway and hero advocate gun/lynch strategy
86- semi is awarded the gun
90- hero proposes "psuedovotes" to prevent hammers
91- gateway loves the idea [-, why? It's obstructionist]
96- amished opposes doublekill idea, thinks it will make getting claims too easy [+, good point]
97- musher reiterates options [-, useless]
99- Lowell votes hero, advocates end to this discussion
102- gate votes lowell for "random voting" [-, wrong]
127- amished votes lowell for being lynch-happy [-, opportunistic]
134- gateway pushes the lowell wagon
136- semi votes musher
161- DGB votes herself, then kabenon [+, looks like honest mistake!]
168- diamond votes hero for justifying a vote in hindsight [+]
172- evilevilmatt questions amished's reasons for defending kabenon's lurking [++, - for amished]
178- semi agrees with diamond, votes hero [+]
183- hero vote evilevilmatt [-, very OMGUS]
184- kabenon returns, suspects Lowell, Amished, and Hero [-]
188- evilevilmatt votes amished
194- diamond reiterates case against hero
199- Lowell votes kabenon for being opportunistic
209- evilevilmatt votes hero for not sticking with his suspicions
213- hero FoSs lowell to "make clear" his suspicion [-, weak, looks like coverup]
220- hero votes lowell for bandwagoning

Some pro-town players:

evilevilmatt
. I like the way he attacked amished for what was a strange and unprovoked defense of kabenon's lurking. I thought he did well at the beginning of the game too (with regards to distributing the gun) without getting mired down in the game mechanics as some have done.

DGB
. The slip at the beginning of her game still strikes me as a town thing to do. When I replace as scum I, at the very least, remember who I'm replacing and who my buddies are. I won't avoid attacking them, certainly, but I at least don't want to marry myself to a position I can't get out of by attacking them too hard. Unless this is a WIFOM tactic (which I doubt) DGB's not knowing who she is strikes me as a town action.

rishi
. The gun hammer was good, and I'm not sure why he took heat for it. His response to said pressure was good, and he's generally given me town vibes.

diamond
. I like the pressure he has put on hero. Taking on a megaposter isn't always easy, but diamond has been consistent in looking for things to attack in many players.

Some anti-town players:

hero
. The case against him is pretty simple. His reasons for attacking me were made up in hindsight, and part of plan to get me gunned on the way to a second D1 kill. When this was pointed out he panicked, unvoted, then REVOTED when that made him look even more suspicious. As well, I still don't like the early-game suggestion of "psuedovotes." Something about that strikes me as (a) a good way to obstruct progress, yet (b) an attempt to look too helpful, in a meta way. Scum like to talk about the game format and possible game-breaking strategies. He's by no means the only one to do this, but his posts are the ones that stick out to me.

OGB
. I actually never thought about this until DGB brought it up, but OGB has been rather scummy. I don't know what he's done to further this game... ever. Lurking in plain sight is bad for someone who clearly could be doing more if he wanted to.

amished
. I agree with matt and semi that amished's strange defense of kabenon is suspicious. Even if kabenon isn't scum, it's clear that amished is trying to win favor. As well, his first vote on me in 127 reeks of opportunism.

musher
. The only thing I have written down for him is "post 97." Basically he jumps in to tell us our options, in a very meta sort of way. This strikes me as the kind of lurking scum like to do.

kabenon
. I'm less sure of this in light of amished's defense. I actually think that makes it more likely that kabenon is innocent and amished is trying to win his favor. Still, 184 is bad, it's like he searched for the three most hated players and posted them atop his suspect list just to impress people and not stir anything up.

Some players I'm watching closely:

semioldguy
. Hugely town at the beginning. Less so now. I don't like the feeling that he's the narrator rather than an active player, and I don't like the hints I've been getting that he might not use the gun in a democratic way (despite everyone taking several pages at the beginning to come to that conclusion)

gateway
. Slightly scummy out of the gate, and has more or less disappeared since. I admit I wouldn't notice this as much if his vote weren't stuck on me, but his early pressing of my wagon despite little evidence is suspicious.

Conclusion:

I'd rather get a lurker now, via semi's gun, then get someone who actually matters before the 9th. I'll vote for anyone else on my scum list.

I'm not sure what amished is scared of. We have 3+ days left and only 3 votes on the leading candidate. We're much more in danger of a no lynch than a "quicklynch". Amished actions look like obstruction.

Townpoints for rishi. Not going to vote him.

What he says about semi is what I've been thinking but haven't been able to articulate. semi says "I don't necessarily think we should use the gun as a lynch" then kills someone and says "hey it's what you wanted me to do."

That said, I'm not voting for semi, either. At least he does something.

Lowell, you've also said this, so I don't know why or when you changed your mind about the gun, so I'm glad you're not basing your case off of the fact that Semi still did kinda what you thought was appropriate at some point.
That
is
what I thought, only I seem to remember being shouted down for that reasoning. Instead we made a big song and dance about using the gun democratically, then semi more or less didn't do that. And yes, I realize I thought oozing was scum at the time.
