He makes a random vote and then unvotes it with pretty much no content in between. I don't know if it's all that suspicious, but it does draw a "why" reaction out of me.
CallMeLiam wrote:Well I try not to post much in the random dicking around phase of the game unless people address me directly.
I've played a game with you before. I'll have to dredge it up and see if this is consistent at all. I don't recall you saying anything of the sort.
falkomagno wrote:Because I didn't see the worth of a random vote, I mean, it seems like it's something used to start suspicious from nothing real. At this point I prefer that my vote go for a better reason
So why random vote in the first place if you consider it to be useless?
CallMeLiam wrote: As town, anything I contribute is white noise and unhelpful, as scum anything I contribute is potentially gonna give me away so the less the merrier.
Purely false. Maybe you are the worst scum hunter in the history of mafia and any contribution you make as town isn't going to help others find scum. However, it still helps others get a read on you. There is no downside to you contributing as town.

As mafia, though, sure, lurking is good for avoiding tripping up.
Sensfan wrote:I don't play into people's game when they openly admit to playing anti-Town to help their Scumgame.

Fair enough. I await the more detailed explanation.

I consider OMGUS to be a null tell. SKs vote with the newbscum explanation didn't really strike me as all that scummy. I was already somewhat suspicious of you, so your vote stood out more.

Crywolf: You call out SK's vote as scummy but then also want to hear more from Falko. Do you agree with the wagon on him or no? Also, you never answered my earlier question or my post telling you to answer my earlier question? Are you avoiding it?

Why do you feel the need to distinguish between IH and scum. I thought you were voting him under the impression that he is scum?

Your second paragraph is basically saying that you are two votes from a lynch and with two scum they could place those two votes and get you lynched. At least that is how I'm interpreting it. That kind of assumes that scum aren't already on your wagon. Yet you are voting IH, who is on your wagon. Explanation?

I think you are wrong about that.

(23b) Day is defined as the interval starting when the mod declares the start of Day, and ending either when the lynching vote is placed or when deadline hits.

Mod: Day will end as soon as a lynch is declared, correct?

I'm leaning newb town on Falko right now. I'm not fond of Sens idea that either he's scum or a good policy lynch and thus we should kill him either way. It's a nice way to justify being on the wagon even if the "he's scum" angle were to fall through.

Sens: Can you link me to games where you support policy lynches as town?

Sarcastic remark about being scum = null tell. I responded with sarcasm to an absurd accusation that clearly wasn't serious itself.

The way I handled Liam is something that I will occasionally do in the random phase. I'll make a "case" for why someone is obviously scum using spurious logic. I picked Liam specifically because I had played with him before and he struck me as the kind of player who might actually respond to it in a meaningful way.

Considering vig isn't on the list of roles, waiting for him to get vigged would be a bad idea. I also disagree that we need to automatically just lynch him now. Cop/tracker/watcher are possible roles in this setup capable of clearing people or finding scum that make these kind of policy lynches not a necessity. I think this mentality is either dumb or scum driven (and maybe a combination of both).

Unvoting a random isn't bad. It's the timing that drew my attention. He random votes, and then a couple posts later just unvotes it for no real reason, and as the sole purpose of that post.

I had a busy weekend where I fell behind in my mafia games, and now I have a busy week where I can do more falling behind in mafia games. I will only be posting sporadically at least until the end of the week.

I'm still waiting for Cayke to address my vote. I will vote to lynch Falko to avoid a deadline no lynch. I would prefer a SensFan or Crywolf lynch, though.

Sir Tornado: We still need to lynch Falko? Is that why your vote is on Killa 7?
Out of the blue much?
Not really. I've expressed various amounts of suspicion of you this game. I don't think Falko is scum, and I think you've been trying to hammer home an easy lynch.

I'd much prefer a Cay lynch though. I really think her "I'm glad I didn't vote IH because his questioning was thorough" in combination with her also saying
she didn't read the posts where IH questions Falko
is a pretty strong scum tell. Can you say scum just skimming and writing off IH as town?

Currently, Shadow Knight is the only player to have commented on my vote or reasons for thinking Crywolf is scum. If you think I'm pushing a weak case, please, elaborate. I certainly think it's far better than the falko case.

In addition, I don't like her recent vote on SK, in which the only reason provided is...a prod? At deadline?

Vote Crywolf

FoS: SensFan

I'm not sure which of those two is more likely to be scum, and actually, both could certainly be scum together. I'm going to go with Crywolf thinking IH was town based on posts she didn't read as slightly scummier than SensFan's bad push on falko for now.

I want to reread both Sir Tornado and Shadow Knight. I don't have much of a read on those either way.

This game was really painful to watch.

With that being said, I am happy and relieved that we won. I thought it was game over when I saw SK being run up day 2 (my pick for the 2nd scum was Sir T at that point), but the quicklynch swung it completely back into the town's favor. I again, wanted to pull my hair out the final day when people weren't immediately jumping on Oman (since the other 3 contributed to a scum quicklynch), but good job in finally hammering that home.

I really had hoped people would go after Cayke after I got like instantly killed as soon as day 2 began, after spending all day 1 pushing her and jumping back on again day 2.

Also, she called someone town without reading their posts. That's an obvious scum tell. Grrrr!!! Partially my fault definitely, as I didn't put enough time into the game to hammer home her lynch, but still, *shakes fist*. At least Oman was scum. I was really annoyed he kept saying how Cayke was town, and I'm happy to see it's because he had ulterior motives. For what it's worth, I thought you played a good game Oman. I didn't pick you as the other scum until after the quicklynch.

But as soon as people start looking at scumkills, then they'll kill to frame people.

Hence WIFOM.
So you're going to ignore relevant evidence because a meta change might happen if you do pay attention to it? Doesn't make sense.

That's exactly the point though. Why ignore something the mafia have complete control over? Do the mafia kill randomly? Obviously not. It's not a waste of time to attempt to figure out why they kill. And for the record, I have never once seen a mafia commit a kill for the purpose of "framing" someone. That's like ignoring scum pushing a wagon on a townie because that wagon was something scum had complete control over.
