Welcome to Andy Griffith Show mafia! Some strange things have been going on in Mayberry lately. For example, Luther hasn’t offered his sandwich to anyone for fear of strangers. More despicable, some people have been beaten up in dark alleys. And some….have straight disappeared. It’s time for the town of Mayberry to rally together to stop this madness once and for all by nipping it in the bud. Good luck to all.

Night 1:
“Gollolly,” said jediknight as he left a house. “He sure was a nice feller. Didn’t seem interested in talking though,” he said aloud. jediknight meandered on back to the filling station. As he drew near, he saw a suspicious character. jediknight greeted him, “Howdy there. Whach ya doin’ out on a night like this? Ya know, there’s been shady characters on the loose. Mama always said you gotta be careful when there’s shady characters on the loose. Because, once when I was a youngin’, mama told me a story of a shady character beatin’ up on a poor old man. She warned me to be careful on nights like this. So that’s what I’m doing: being careful.” The stranger replied, “Ya, you gotta be careful—jediknight interrupted, “In fact on Sunday, someone got mugged going to church. Can you imagine that? Someone mugging someone on Sunday. Sunday is the Lord’s day ya know.” Before jediknight could finish his sentence, the stranger punched him in the side of the face with a shiny hand. jediknight went down for the count…

In the morning, all of you gather together at the courthouse. You notice that jediknight is missing. You divide up and search high and low. One group finds Gomer beaten up badly. Both legs broken and he is out cold. Poor Gomer. Some of you are hopping mad at this. You gather back at the courthouse and decide who must be put in the jail.

Day 1:
The eleven of you gather in the courthouse to discuss whom you will throw in jail. First, though, all of you are sad at the loss of Gomer. Questions are posed, “Could he have been bad though?” or “Wasn’t just a dumb townie?” or “Perhaps he was something totally different?” Who knows for sure? Anyway, accusations fly and mechanics are discovered. After looking at a couple of people, the majority settles on Foolster41. “He’s scum,” screams IS. You approach Foolster41 to throw him in the cell. He says, “You haven’t heard the las..” as you shove him in the cell.

Foolster41, Ernest T Bass/?, has been lynched day 1. It is now night 2. Choices are due Wednesday, at 4:00pm (Eastern Standard Time).

Night 2:
The night was clear and stars illuminated the sky. A warm fuzzy feeling occupied the town of Mayberry. Perhaps, nothing bad would have tonight.

“Cock-a-doodle-do” crows the rooster. The ten gather at the courthouse. “Hey, no deads, that’s neato.” Now, you all agree to get down to business, that is after some argument arises over a matter of a checkers game 40 some odd years ago.

No one killed night 2. It is now Day 2, with 10, it’s 6 to lynch.

Firstly, I want to say a big thank you to Yaw. I thought I'd be without access for longer, but fortunately that was not the case. Anyway, many thanks Yaw.

Day 2:
With the ten of you awake and happy with no injuries during the night, you all set out to weed the bad seeds in the community.
Following a minor lead, you wagon halfpint. “No!!! I’m Aunt Bea!” screams halfpint. “Hm..” say the rest of you as you back away. I mean hey, how can you be hating on Aunt Bea. She tells how Elnar must be scum because no injuries (deaths) happening last night. The town encircles Elnar. “No, I know who I am. I surely am not scum. I am Thelma Lou!” Some of you say, “Where’d you learn to talk like that, Princeton?!” Anyway, most don’t believe Elnar and bully him into the courthouse, pushing him ever-so closer to a jail cell. You all have had enough and throw Elnar into a cell (the one w/o Ernest T) to end the short day.

Elnar, Thelma Lou/?, has been imprisoned day 2. As Yaw has said, deadline is Tuesday, May 10th. It is specifically at 5:00pm (EST).

Night 3:
The night rang with low thunders. A chill froze the ground.

Dirge swiftly headed out the courthouse. He worked late that day and it was night when he left. “Hm? What should I do tonight, help or search or?” he thought. He finally settled on searching out about a player. As he neared that player’s house, he thought, “I hope this won’t take long.” He looked in the backseat and noticed a brown package. It was a cherry pie from Aunt Bea. He pulled over to a local park. He couldn’t resist a pie from Aunt Bea. “Emmm,” Andy hummed, “I couldn’t eat another bite. In fact, I feel so full I can’t go investigate that player.” It must have been a stroke of cruel fate, but coming up to him at that very moment was the player of whom he sought. Dirge had his eyes closed, reveling the taste of cherry. The stranger with a whiskey bottle in hand cracked it over Dirge’s head. Dirge was out cold….

halfpint was sitting at home. She wondered when Andy would be returning. The back door opened. “Oh Andy’s come home late, I wonder what might be the matte,” she thought. She went to the kitchen to find.. “Hey, you’re not Andy.” The stranger replied, “The sheriff, huh. Well, I’ll teach you to mention his name.” And with bass knuckles, he laid down some beat down.

As you all gather at the courthouse, you notice Dirge and halfpint missing. You all go the Taylor house to find halfpint, lying on the floor, unconscious. All of you search everywhere in Mayberry, but to no avail. Dirge cannot be found.

Day 3:
With Andy disappeared, you all (majority that is) decide it is best to search for him. Some of you operate the phones and others go to Mt. Pilot and Cyler City. Andy/Dirge cannot be found in these places either. It is already a little past noon and seems like the progress is minimal. However, a break comes your way. With Internet Stranger leading the cause, you find out that Andy was put on a rail car heading to Chicago. Begging the headsman of the train to understand your situation, you convinced him. He is nice and sends Andy back at your request. As the sun sets in the way, Andy arrives back in town!! “Welcome back Andy!!” you all say with grins, except for a few. Some faint mutters, “I thought he ridded the first time.” Andy talks about how he was tied up and dragged onto a railcar to be taken away from Mayberry. He can only tell so much until the night approaches.

Dirge, Andy Taylor, has been brought back to activity. It is now Night 4. Choices are due, say, Saturday 14th 6:00pm (EST). Be sure to look at the roles of the players, like Foolster41 (heh).

Night 4:
The sky loomed over Mayberry. Darkness and vile drunkards may eventually surround it. But some hope remains as the street lights flicker. Pieces of garbage tumble across the street and some broken beer bottles litter the street gutters. Will someone clean them up?

Quailman, Barney Fife, drove to his target. Alright, I got a guilty result yesterday, so maybe I can expose more bad guys. He thought, “We’ve got to nip them in the bud!” As he lifted the window, he slipped his hands to lift himself in. “Ouch,” he said as the window fell on his hands. He got in on the third try. On the table he saw the same brass knuckles that made their imprints on Gomer and Aunt Bea. Barney couldn’t swallow. He went to the kitchen to get some water. Entering again to the living room, the knuckles were gone. Barney fell out the window. Dusting himself off, a stranger spoke out, “I’ve been waiting for you, deputy.” Quailman’s legs were frozen in ice. The pulled back…

Internet Stranger, Ben Weaver, was returning from a house. The walking was tiresome on his old body. He usually had a smile on his face. He seemed pleased with his last action. He sat to rest on a park bench. As relaxed, a stranger approached him from behind. “Crack,” and IS was out like a light.

The roster crows and six of you gather at the courthouse. Quailman and Internet Stranger are missing. Going over to Quailman’s house, you see his body lying on his porch. He appeals to be dragged there, but you can’t trace the trail. Internet Stranger is nowhere to be found. You see his cane in the park by a broken whiskey bottle.

Day 4:
The short day opens with two down and one up. Andy Taylor is back in action. He says, “Hey, according to scene, Lt. Origen is scum!!!!” The rest of the town at a loss of what do to follows the commands. An expectedly disappointed Lt. Origen trudges to the cell.

Sigh, sorry to Lt. Origen. I shouldn’t have written the scene like that. It didn't implicate you at the time. But with Dirge coming back, it wasn’t fair to you. Sorry for the mod error everyone.

Night 5:
Crickets chirp quickly, nervous of what might transpire in the darkness. The grey clouds shielded the stars and moon from penetrating. Tears and joys would occur at the end of this night as many reflective folk from Mayberry cry and rejoice.

Dirge had been sold a shotgun with one bullet last night. “I’m not into shooting people. After all, I’m a sheriff without a gun. But times come when arms are necessary.” Andy, picking up his shotgun, headed out the door. He hadn’t had any good meals that day with the hospitalization of Aunt Bea. His stomach growled as he got into the squad car.

inHimshallibe, Otis Campbell, staggered out of his house. Since night 2, he had tasted the joys of booze. “Moon-shine is the best,” he blurted with a hick-up. He used to listen to people at night as to their intentions, but he couldn’t make sense of anything while drunk. Taking a whiskey bottle, he took another snort. He was on a mission tonight though. He traveled toward main street.

PeaceBringer, Alan Melvin, knew what he had to do. He grabbed his brass knuckles. “I’ll let that sheriff have it once and for all,” he said. He walked swiftly towards the courthouse, where he was sure Dirge was working late…

Dirge was in the courthouse, planning how he was to get close to his target of inHimshallibe. As he was dead in thought, the door slammed open. inHimshallibe stood there as drunk as a skunk. Otis muttered something, waving a whiskey bottle in the air. Andy (Dirge), shocked at how his target stumbled upon him, grabbed his shotgun without taking his eyes of Otis. Otis was off in Neverland when Andy pointed his shotgun at him. Suddenly, PeaceBringer stormed into the courthouse. Otis was awakened for his hallucination. Andy was so intent on inHimshallibe that he didn’t hear Alan enter the courthouse. As PeaceBringer neared Dirge, inHimshallibe slurred, “Hey don’t hurt my friend.” Dirge turned but it was too late. PeaceBringer stung him right in the forehead. But as he did, Dirge pulled the trigger in reaction. A bullet lodged the chest of inHimshallibe. Outraged and drunk, inHimshallibe in a last grasp, cracked the head of PeaceBringer with his whiskey bottle…
Commify and davidangelsummers meet at the town square. They are joined by no one else. Curious at the disappearances, they venture into the courthouse, where they find Dirge, PeaceBringer and inHimshallibe dead. “Oh, oh, oh,” says davidangelsummers, almost speechless. Commify slips out of his coat a whiskey bottle. Floyd looks back at Commify. His eyes widen as he sees the bottle. That is his last memory.

inHimshallibe :You are Otis, the lovable town drunk of Mayberry. As much as you love Mayberry, you love your whiskey more. Andy and Barney can never get you to snitch on where you get your gin. You get your drink from “help im a bug” and “Lt. Origen”, who are the moonshining mafia. They don’t know who are you, but know of you. You cannot talk at night to them. While you’re out on your own, each night, you can eavesdrop outside a player’s house to hear what’s said.

Freelancer – Ernest T Bass

MeMe/Foolster41: You are Ernst T Bass (pronounced like the fish, not like the singing part). You are neither on the town side nor the mafia side. You are your own person. You hide in the hills, throwing rocks at people and saying, “You haven’t heard the last; of Ernst T Bass.” Your win condition is different than most players’. You are a freelancer. To win, you must be killed by scum (you don’t die the first time) and then lynched by the town after the kill. If you are killed twice or are lynched before being killed, you lose. If you aren’t killed then lynched, you lose. To aid you in scum killing you, you can throw a rock through a player’s window with a note. You can write what the note is to say; you will pm it with your choice of whose window to break. Your choice just knows their window was broken, but not who did it. Be creative in your note writing. You will be notified if the scum have killed you. Please confirm by pm.

Dirge: You are Sheriff Andy Taylor. You are the sensible one, always keeping Mayberry from entering complete hysteria. All of Mayberry comes to you with their problems as you deal with strong southern practicalism. You are the perfect small town sheriff. Each night you can chose to protect someone

or

to investigative someone. You can only choose one per night. When you protect someone, the scum will see (if they try to kill that person) that you are there and will run away in fear. The scum are not told that you protected their kill option. When you investigative a player, you will learn that player’s character name. Also, once during the game, you can choose to travel to Mt. Pilot, where no one can reach you, including the mafia.

What did you guys think of the freelancer and super saint roles? They can be found at the Princeton site. The game only had one doc and a 1-shot for protection. Though, with the sk's night kill immunity and the spy activation, those would stop killings. One of those did Elnar in. IS was protected by Dirge night 2 when PB tried to kill him and the mafia activated inHim. Do you guys think I should have revealed roles before someone was brought back? What did you guys think of that mechanic?

Dirge - no problem. I love feedback, whether postive or negative. If I can't take the critiques, I shouldn't be asking. I do see your points and they are good. I still it would have served the town better had the roles been revealed upon death.
I thought it extremely interesting when RNG gave MeMe the freelancer role. But it was not to be. I was hoping to see the super saint in action, but like most new roles (at least on mafiascum), they get taken out night 1.
Oh, when the mafia spy was activated (night after), he could kill or do nothing. He couldn't investigate after the night of activation. So, he became a regular mafia member. It was an added twist.

The choices will be prettied up soon.
