Setup Information


Two Room Mafia II will use a closed setup with mostly normal roles.

There is one simple mechanic that will dictate the results of all night actions. Each night all players, regardless of alignment or role, are given a choice to enter one of two rooms. This is an individual decision each player will make each night. Players in opposite rooms will have no interaction with one another whatsoever over the course of the entire night. Players with night actions will be told if their night action was successful or unsuccessful at the end of each night.

This is the only theme mechanic present in the game, so please ask me if you have any questions.

Game Rules

). This is your power, and we both want it to be counted fairly. Please try to make it so there's no question who you are voting and unvoting. Unvotes are not necessary. There will be no tolerance for vote tricks. Please do not try to play with any technical aspect of this rule. If challenged, I will most likely rule against the player responsible for any voting confusion during the game.


Lynching
-
Once a player is lynched, the game will go into "twilight", and the fate of the town has effectively been sealed for that day phase. The town, as well as the player who has been lynched, is welcome to continue to talk until I officially bring the game into the night phase. The town
must
reach a simple majority before the deadline in order for a lynch to go through. Ties will not be broken by me, no matter which wagon formed first. If the town cannot reach a majority or break a tie before the deadline, the day phase will end without a lynch. This town has the option not to lynch, provided it meets the required simple majority of votes.


Deadlines
-
All deadlines are subject to extension should the need arise. This game is using bankable deadlines. All unused days (rounding off to the nearest day) will be "banked" for the following day phase. The Day 1 deadline is set for 14 days, and all following days will be set at 9 days (before adding any banked time). Every day phase may be extended once either by means of a simple majority of players or by my discretion. By contrast, every night phase has a firm 72 hour, or three day, deadline.


Absence, Prods, and Replacements

If you are unable to post for a period of longer than 72 hours, please inform me by PM or make it clear in the game thread. All players have a right to know whether or not a player is absent, and any player who informs me of a future absence will be noted as such. Prods will take place at the request of the players in the game as well as at my discretion. If a player receives a prod, they have exactly 24 hours from the time of that prod to show activity before a request for a replacement will be made. At that point, whomever claims the player slot will become the person playing the game.


Night Actions
-
I will accept any and all actions submitted to me pre-night phase. If no night action is submitted to me before the end of the night phase, the player is assumed to have slept through the night, and no action will take place. Standard active night action orders are as follows: Roleblocks > Protections > Conversions > Manipulations > Shots > Investigations


Prohibitions
-
To help ensure a fair, balanced, and fun game, it is prohibited to talk to fellow players about the game outside of this thread unless you are given specific instructions on how to do so. All players who have been lynched, killed, or otherwise removed from the game are prohibited from making any new posts or talking with any of the living players about the game until the game has been declared over. Respecting tradition, "Bah!" posts are tolerated, but you must respect the boundaries of the game. No player is allowed to post anything game related in their post-death post, so please use common sense when and if you decide to make one. It is prohibited to quote or paraphrase any Mod PMs for any purpose other than to claim or explain one's powers. It is prohibited to use invisible text, small text, encrypted text, or to otherwise edit your post in anyway. It is strongly discouraged (but not prohibited) to use the color
red
in order to make sure there are no quarrels over what is and isn't an edit that I have made. I will only be using the color
red
in edits. Any form of trolling, misbehavior, or poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated and is hereby prohibited.

Pre-Game Status
1) Role PMs being created, randomized, and assigned.

2) Role PMs are now going out. All players may now confirm and ask questions about their role or the game. Players with access to QTs may talk during this period. All players may discuss the game in the thread. The game will begin when I receive at least 11 out of 13 confirmations.

I noticed something midway through sending my Role PMs that I thought may be slightly confusing. In my ruleset, I make it clear that night actions may be submitted to me early. This is still the case. Any player, regardless of alignment, may send me night actions early. If you think you may forget to submit which room you want to go to for example, please feel free to PM me early.

Anyways, once I receive at least 11 of 13 confirmations, we will get started.

As I understand, one or two players are V/LA until Monday. If after Monday everyone hasn't confirmed yet, I will start getting replacements in.

IMPORTANT GAME UPDATE


I regretfully inform the game that a serious rule infraction has taken place recently by one of the players. Unfortunately this was pointed out to me by one of the other players in this game, Thieving Keyblade. I would ask that the rest of the game please try and put this aside as best as possible until the end of the game.

After consulting with Equinox, we agree that it's in the best interest of the integrity of the game to resort to the ultimate punishment. I don't take any joy out of doing this, but this is a fundamental sitewide Mafia rule that was broken. Additionally, we've decided it's best to replace Thieving Keyblade altogether and because of the connection to this issue. Elyse will be taking Thieving Keyblade's role slot.

I've decided to let the the day phase continue onward in spite of this modkill. The vote count will not be reset nor will the deadline be extended as a result of these actions.

Well, that one turned out to be much longer than anticipated. For the first couple of days of this game, I was critical of the scumteam's strategy. They opted to bite on the "two kill" possibility I wrote into their role PMs. Essentially, they could go into separate rooms and try their luck at killing one person each. I understood why DCL thought this was a good risk to take, but I kept wanting them to go for the "sure thing"... until I realized I hadn't worded the role PM in such a way that they could have a "sure thing". This frustrated me because this was a serious oversight on my part that I hadn't picked up on when creating the setup. It seems so obvious now, and especially when they had such poor luck in their kill attempts. Unlike the scumteam in the previous game, this scumteam couldn't buy a nightkill. I think the results of the last game may have affected me somewhat and led me to not really consider where the scumteams weaknesses were. I was so worried about having to watch another scum blowout that I left out a crucial part of the game.

In any case, I thought the scumteam did pretty darn well all things considered. Pere would get my nod for the MVP because I cannot give it to DCL (replacing out) and fitz didn't really bring much to the table manipulative-wise. Pere's lowkey, under-the-radar play got him far despite catching heat various times over the course of the game.

My pick for town MVP would be Skull even though she had mixed results in her scumhunting. Her and Elyse were both extremely persistent throughout the game. I remember especially Skull's attempt at using the room information toward finding scum. That impressed me even though it ultimately ended up being a dead end. What's more, she did what I thought was the best job at coming across as townie. This is a sometimes overlooked factor that can be of real importance. Especially in a game where no night kills are occurring!

In any case, this game shouldn't have been as long as it was. I definitely take some of the blame for that due to poor planning. I think the town ultimately earned the win though, so at least there's that.

Thanks to all my replacements! Major love to you guys: Snake, Marquis, Elyse, fitz, chkflip, and Ankamius. Replacing in can be a real mixed bag, so I really appreciate that. I hope everyone at least got some memories from this one if nothing else. :]

For those still curious, thezmon was modkilled earlier in the game for talking about this specific game on another website with other scummers. Unfortunately the player that pointed it out to me, Thieving Keyblade, had to be removed as well as a precautionary measure. thezmon made a mistake and was apologetic. I do not hold it against him. He seems like a cool guy and I hope he sticks around the website.
