The Moderator has the final say in any dispute. Refusal to accept these decisions may be considered a modkillable offense depending on the severity. Although the Moderator may be the official voice, the Moderator is not infallible. If there is a mistake or you have a question, do not hesitate to inform the Moderator through private message or through the use of bold text within the thread.
Dark-Red
and
Indigo
are the Moderator's colors. Do NOT use them. Doing so is considered impersonating the Moderator and is a punishable offense.
Any and all communication with the Moderator must remain strictly confidential. It is acceptable to paraphrase, for actions such as role claims. If in doubt whether your paraphrase is acceptable, ask the Moderator and assume it is unacceptable until confirmed otherwise.
Any flavor given throughout this game is not indicative of the game state, amount of factions, the alignment of any player, or any piece of the game setup.
The use of timestamps in any way is considered quoting Moderator communication and therefore is prohibited. The order in which Role PM's have been sent has been randomized to directly combat this.
Any personal communication outside of the game thread, unless clearly specified in your role PM, is
strictly prohibited.
Do not post the links to any QuickTopics that may or may not be available within the game. Doing so is considered a modkillable offense.
It is not permissible to quote any existing QuickTopics in game. It is also not permissible to edit posts within existing QuickTopics, unless it is confirmed that any other faction will never have access to said QuickTopic.
All Quicktopics associated with this game will become public upon the game's end.
[Subjective]Claiming to be scum, or someone's scumbuddy, is against any and all win conditions and therefore is prohibited. Either action is considered a modkillable offense.
The use of invisible, small, or encrypted text is prohibited. Use your judgment, if it is unreadable by the Moderator, it is unacceptable.
Using loopholes in the rules is considered against the spirit of the game and is a punishable offense. This does not refer to special game mechanics, merely the general gameplay rules. Example is faking a vote to trap players.
Anything it is illegal to do is also illegal to fake.
Modkills will be done in a fashion deemed most detrimental to your faction. Your faction will then be converted to
As a general guideline, players should aim to post at least once every day (the more the better).
If you anticipate an extended leave from the game, inform the Moderator either in thread or through a private message.
Players who go for more than
72
hours will be prodded. If you are prodded and do not respond within
24
hours, you will be replaced.
Players receiving more than
3
prods throughout the game's entirety will be force-replaced. Replacements reset the prod counter.
A
flexible two week deadline
will be instated at the beginning of each Day.
Votes must be bolded or they will not be counted. (ex.
Vote: PlayerName
).
Unvotes must also be bolded or will not be counted (ex.
Unvote
or
Unvote: PlayerName
). Unvotes are appreciated but not required.
Shortening of usernames or the use of nicknames is acceptable in votes, but will only be counted if the Moderator can clearly distinguish which player you are voting for.
It requires a majority of the currently available votes for a Lynch to occur. Majority is equal to half of the available votes plus one rounded down.
If players so choose, they may vote for No Lynch, and No Lynch will be reached if at least 50% of the currently available votes are placed on No Lynch.
Once the majority required for a Lynch is reached, votes are locked in place and cannot be rescinded. The same policy applies to No Lynches as well. Discussion during twilight, the period of time before the mod scene is posted, is acceptable.
If at deadline there is no majority, No Lynch will occur. If there is a tie at deadline, No Lynch will occur.
As soon as the Moderator posts your death scene, you are considered removed from the game. You may not post in the thread following this, with the exception of a single content-less "bah." post. It is acceptable for the Lynchee to post during twilight before their lynch scene is posted.
Play to win, but remember this is a game. It is understandable to be aggressive, yet personal attacks will not be tolerated. Be considerate of the other players within the game, and hopefully enjoy it yourself!
Setup. Any actions submitted will resolve upon change of Day. Any actions with extended effects will have their length of effect specified within the player's Role PM.
The players within this game are considered individual nodes in a connected network. These connections determine the flow and reach of abilities. (If your role has an ability, your Role PM will dictate available targets for any actions. This generally means that you will only be able to target people directly connected to you.)
The layout of the network, including connections, is available for viewing in the first post. The numbering of the nodes represent the number of the player on the playerlist.
You will inevitably pose questions about the mechanics in the game thread. If the Moderator has not answered them and has posted a more recent VoteCount, assume that question will not be answered.
First off, thank you to all the players for once again being my test subjects for these ideas of mine. I do know that messing around with different ideas tends to lead to games that make players feel cheated by "the system", so hopefully you all enjoyed the time in the game regardless of the setup. Thanks again to The Rufflig and Saki for helping out with replacements, the appreciation for those can't be stated enough.
About the game: It was quite amusing to see two different players have the scumteam called completely Day One (I can't find it now but it was one of RedCoyote's). I felt that the scumteam was under fire the entire game and by Day Three when the claims started coming out I was certain that this was going to be a town win. As I said in the dead thread I have to apologize to the scumteam for putting them in a really tight position. I was worried that the setup was going to get broken at that point and I felt bad to have handed out a broken game. Then came the Saki lynch. RedCoyote said it straight, and I feel that was the turning point that put the scum back in the game. I think that if the town had sat a moment, looked at the claims, they may have worked out what the setup was likely to be and the scum would have been pretty helpless. Maybe that's just mod perspective though. From a setup perspective I loved how the endgame looked. 4 possible players, 2 scum had to be in there. The mechanic helped the town find a nice subset lynch pool, enhancing the scumhunting but not turning it into a "follow the cop" sort of situation. I personally think it forced the four players to all have to present an argument why they shouldn't be the lynch. Also I'm surprised that no one called RedCoyote out on the idea of having two of the same roles in the game, no one considered that one of them may have been scum.
About the setup: It took me a lot of different maps to find one that fit all the criteria I was looking for. The fact that it was a 13 player game made me cut out a few cool ideas that I had in mind for the setup originally, but that only means I can save them for a later iteration if it comes. Unfortunately for beastcharizard, he predicated his original setup theory on the highest priority criteria that I had: scum could not by normal means hit every player in the game. I did provide a workaround so the scum could eliminate a "problem player" in the form of a special one shot ability for the Mafia Godfather, but between cxinlee getting lynched early and not ever telling his teammates about the ability it was a useless measure. The masons were a later addition that I thought would be interesting but turned out to not work as I expected. Funnily, all three of the observers in that mason thread were scum, which was not an intended effect. When I added in the masons I thought it would be fitting to have the mechanic affect their chat ability in some manner and the result of that was adding the observers. The inventors just fit so well with the idea of player choice effecting the setup and with the idea of node connections between players, but perhaps the amount of power they added into the game was a bit too much.
tl;dr: Thanks for taking the time to play, congratulations scum for a game hard earned.

The powers that be have pressed you into service. At the very least, you can choose who to enlighten.
Conscripted Inventor:
You must select
two separate
players directly connected to your node to grant special abilities to, before the end of Day One. Failure to do so results in your death. These players will receive their granted abilities at the beginning of Day Two.
The available abilities to be granted are:
[
XXXX
]
Available Targets:
[
00. Xxxxxx
]
Town Win Condition:
You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive, whether you are alive or not.

Mod Note: Inventor 1 gets to pass out: 1-Shot Hider, Tracker. Inventor 2 gets: Jailkeeper, Range Extender.

Connections, authentications, these things are good.
Mason:
You know the player [
00. Xxxxxx
] to be aligned with Town.
Subsection Communication:
Due to your connection to your Mason partner, you may communicate at any time in the Subsection Private Topic. Note that since your nodes are not directly connected, the three other players
[
00. Xxxxxx, 00. Xxxxx, 00.Xxxxx
]
placed along your connection path to your partner will have access to this topic, but may not communicate in any way in this topic. These players are not informed of your alignment nor your role, and are similarly unaware of your partner's role and alignment. They are also unaware of the reason for their inclusion in the subsection.
Town Win Condition:
You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive, whether you are alive or not.
