just gotta reiterate that I had to go for AC because I would have a really hard time forgiving myself for letting that hammer go unpunished - it's not the only reason I SR the slot at all, so many reasons (SR them hard up until D3 then it turned town), but that would just be too hard on my brain to let go if scum

the bork bork thing wasn't a slip, I was trying to go back and see if I SR the slot before shep replaced in, and I certainly do - shep still my top SR, but no one wanted to go there

it's not even necessarily "punishing", that's may be a bad word to use - it's not letting a precedent get set that brings the game down as a whole in future games - scum see a whole bunch of townies let it go and they are more apt to do it in the future and more townies are apt to let it slide unpunished, just brings the game down

and again, I probably have 2 or 3 games where I let things go where it has come back to bite me when I *knew* better

T&B, I love this sort of trolling if it is true, it actually allows the wifom to build more for their scum partner (like if you are their scum partner and make that comment) - which is fun to parse and learn who will act like what and is the fun part of the game for me when playing more and more games with the same players, I can really start to tone-read the wifom and I do a good job at it

Fakeclaims shouldn't make you lose trust in someone's alignment if there's clear town motivation for what they did. Surely you wouldn't lynch someone who got scum lynched the previous day via a cop guilty because it turned out they had more shots than they claimed? :L

I instinctively sense deception, even if I'm not consciously aware of the deception that is going on, it messes with my perspective of the situation. I'm hard-wired to read deception as a non-teamwork quality, and as I said: the benefits, to me, of someone lying, never outweighs the negative impact. I try and try and try to 'adjust' for the possibility, but it doesn't work for me, I just become confused. your example of a cop-guilty is something that is likely an exception, as that makes things black & white with more likely absolutes, but mafia is 99% grey-area. I actually don't even know that I've ever played in a game with a cop. I hate cops, ftr.

and there's honestly nothing I can actively do to change it, not that I really would want to if I could, it just happens

my mafia-philosophy is that town needs to be open and honest and work together, and that deception is for scum, that is what works for me
