I do. He's basically suggesting to use the color flip like a cop investigation. Cops don't investigate the obviously scummy they investigate null reads. Town lynches the obviously scummy people.

I'm trying to think about how we should balance wanting to confirm someone useful and wanting the person we confirm not to be an easy NK. We might just want to try to hit scum, but the chances of that are pretty low all things considered.

since i don't really go looking for town reads, I always just want to confirm people I can't get a read on which is why I like the idea that jj had, at least day 1 where we know it's going to be the most reliable. That's sort of why I am confused as to why aptil has an issue with that idea.

A cop doesn't investigate scummy people so we shouldn't waste our most valuable color flip on one either. The most reliable color flip is Day 1. If somebody is scummy and unhelpful lynch them cause knowing they are town isn't going to change the fact that they are still scummy and unhelpful. The scum we have to worry about later in the game are the ones who are trying to blend in.

clearly everyone has different theories on this. I think if Varsoon is as good as people say he is, it's best to leave him unflipped. Confirming a strong town player does nothing but put a target on that person's back. I can get behind flipping somebody who is acting scummy but my preferred is to use the first day as an investigative aspect since it's the only flip we can fully trust.

yes you do actually. To say something is off with me you need to have a baseline to compare it to. The more important question is why did you mislead people into thinking you knew how I play?

Learn the definition of gung ho. That 2nd post is me conceding what's most likely inevitable. With a day left and me being the largest vote getter nobody is going to argue against a color flip. Because the color flips don't matter that much. The arguing begins in the lynch phase when it matters

I think this phase is generally unimportant overal so I'm waiting for the lynch phase.
