Scum had claimable stuff of gladiator, rolecop, reporter

Town had a few "don't lynch" roles

Only two roles were blatantly "never lynch this" and most of the other roles were reasonably in line wiht the type of claimable powers that scum had.

Really not seeing how it's broken by day 1 massclaim, sorry. If you want a blatantly breakable by day 1 mass claim example, I could direct you to Kingdom Hearts? ;)

Rolecop is probably claimable in a setup like this. Obviously the roleblocker expansion much less so :lol:

But yeah probably the sidekick one is the better claim.

Balance here was adequate. Scum lost because they got rolled in the daygame (I make no comment on the discussed allegations, since I haven't read the game closely enough to have an informed opinion), not because of setup deficiencies. Town had TWO legitimately useful power roles (the most useful of which became automatically macho by night 3 almost always) and a stack of roles that were on the "hey they could be town or scum, but probably won't do an incredible amount for town" sliding scale.

Town also had an explicitly chaos-y role "village idiot" that could actively fuck with night actions, and since most potential targets are town, that gets fairly dicey fairly fast (with a nonzero chance that scum end up killing scum though, so not totally just NU). I don't see the balance issues you discuss at all; if they exist, maybe actually lay them out? Because it seems to me the the solid majority of town roles were actively lynchable, which makes the benefits of an early mass claim I think fairly questionable (not to mention how easy it is for scum to then block/kill the most useful town PRs).

Also curious how you'd contrast w the gods theme, where we gave you in particular an "obvtown" role, but town also had explicitly more power (even if it was weird and contradictory).

Players can ask mods for whatever they like. It's on mods to make determinations of what they should or should not say or do. Conceding is probably not ideal, but you see it often enough that it's really not any kind of big deal imo.

I was also in a game once where my team blatantly needed flavor fake claims and the mod had forgotten to bother giving us fake claims. So that was fun :lol:

I was in a game once where I was on a 4 man secondary scum team in a game of 172 players. We collectively outlasted the 40 man scum team before losing our last member to a bullshit modkill at about 10p left :lol:
^note: that's the same game :P - town and scum were players, our team was the site staff flavor. Main scum team had a flavor vig and anticlaim mechanics, plus flavor that didn't even out them. We had blatantly outing flavor, and no fakeclaims whatsoever until I started bitching about it in dead thread (at which point my final 2 teammates got a list of a few flavors not in the game, wiht no guidance or discussion about how any of them could plausibly work as fakeclaims). I think that's MAAAAYBE the saltiest I've ever been in a dead thread; certainly the saltiest I've ever been as antitown :lol:

And ftr I'm still not sure whether that game or Kingdom Hearts had shittier game structure balance for my team. Probably the 172p game, but it's a legitimate question :lol:

It was an MU mash, so you get a shit ton of death every day through events, in thread attacks, etc. It's a fun sort of thing (when balanced appropriately :P )
