Well, obviously no one would want him to burn them, but he still would. If he didn't, we'd just lynch him. Right? Otherwise, this would be a very abuseable system.

If fifi flips scum, and a NK does not occur, that would imply that fifi used 10 CP and other scum used enough daytime CP to eliminate their night actions. If we assume 3 scum, one of whom is a commander (12 points total), that would mean at least 2 actions other than fifi's took place.

I was assuming that the extra CP would be used to be on fifi's wagon, but I suppose it could come from other sources. Either way, to the extent that dayCP use is public, the point is that we'd be able to figure things out.

This presupposes that the commander's extra 3 CP apply to their team rather than themselves. Maybe I should ask the Mod for clarification on that point, unless it's in the rules and I just can't remember, etc.

Yes, all Commander bonus points apply to the party, not just the individual.

(Flipside is that given fifiScum and an NK does occur, the scum would have to be off the wagon. That, or scum have tons of Commanders, but that would seem to contradict the Mod's pre-game speculation.)

If there are 4 scum, it is dramatically less successful, as if we get scum to burn 10, they've still probably got around 10 more. Still, it does mean they'll have to be far more careful with their votes.

But see, now it's getting all hazy. 'far more careful with their votes' is going to create much WIFOM when someone seems conservative with their votes.

Sad thing is, I don't even need to catch up. There's been literally two posts since the last time I read this. I did a quick readthrough, and the only thing that jumped out at me was Fifi's play. It's been rehashed a million times, but I still don't like the original bad idea, then the AtE/newbclaim.

Unless we bank that fifi is the scum commander, which is a pretty big gamble on our part, we are unlikely to stop any scum night actions. That is probably why this rule exists in the first place - to stop us from breaking the game via this method.

Flawed arguement. The 'burning part' works perfectly. 10 points from fifi, and then if the NK still goes through, we can look to see who wasn't on the wagon and who conserved votes. Probscum will be there.

I'm not saying there's a link here between Fifi and Alm, but Alm by himself arguing against a pro-town strategy looks bad to me.
