In post 1941, pirate mollie wrote:yeah that 1. I looked through your games at that point.

I saw a very different side of you in this game and I thank you for that. there aren't that many moments in mafia where I am truly blown away and I was.

I really don't remember that game (then again, I don't really remember much of all my games beyond the fact that they happened, so no surprises there <_<), but I'll try and give it a 2nd read to see if I can spot what you did.

Hawk: Mainly just some of the posts D3 where you were bellyaching that the town had failed/lost when there didn't seem to be much pointing in that direction (not speaking with an empirical view; I didn't ask for nor receive the spoiled QT). Your heavy reluctance to reveal who you targeted D4, especially after Dino had essentially laid out a plan that would win (and should've made him pretty town since the circle-investigation between him, guile, and you would've found him out as scum or heavily pointed toward him) also felt rather anti-town, as well. I'm not counting your spat with Mollie because that seemed more like two town trying to say the other's scum, but those other examples felt like you were playing somewhat suboptimally in comparison to where the game was (or needed to be).

Also, Mastin, when you run the theme, could you use PTs instead of QTs?

it is understandable that you might have blocked out from memmory that game since thorella had a spat that lasted over 20 pages and this is perfectly normal. he and I have worked out our differences tho and more inclined to work together than not. but you won as cult with us!
whew!

Less "blocked from memory" and more "what did I do here again?"

I'm not convinced, so we will just have to agree to disagree.

They're in the mod QT? Just above the D2 ones a bit.

D4 didn't have any, as discussed. The BCC sent to all living players, plus a separate PM for roles who got results like you. (Well, I suppose that I technically gave you a
little
bit of flavor, lampshading your choice in targets...... :P)

Butyeah, will post when I can.

In post 1935, istott wrote:Also, Mastin has put the most effort into modding that I have seen. Personalised player messages, Extended votecounts, to name some of the things that stood out to me.
Which, sadly, was entirely gone near the end thanks to real life interfering. (You'd think that being on a break from college would give me more time, but no; it's actually left me with LESS free time for some reason.)

In the middle of a family gathering, so further stuff will have to wait until tomorrow at the earliest.

In post 1944, ProHawk wrote:Thanks for modding Mastin!
You did a superb job with the vote-counts which I really realized once I quoted one of them and had to edit out all of the spoilered code I didn't need ;)
There's a REASON that I copy it into a notepad file. I basically established a template, then modified the template with new info as it came in.

Butyeah, I knew there was a lot of extra stuff. Visually, it can be helpful, but when quoting, it can get in the way--which is why I tried to keep it in a separate zone overall. Always open to suggestions! (Note that every suggestion carries with it a double-edged sword. Whatever is gained causes something else to be lost.)

In post 1952, Voidedmafia wrote:Also, Mastin, when you run the theme, could you use PTs instead of QTs?
Honestly I prefer QTs (because they don't require me to log in), but I can indeed. Just need to make the request.

In post 1913, mastin2 wrote:Also, if there's interest, tweaking things a bit (like, say, giving scum fakeclaims), I was wondering if there'd be interest in a sequel to this game, as a large theme. I have the setup more or less finalized and most of the finer points figured out, but I want to make sure I actually have a good crowd who'd be willing to
play
it. :P

It'd be the same but not the same at all, in that it'd still be classified as a bastard, it'd still be meant to be played casually and not seriously, and would still be meant for the fun of it. With what I have planned, I think it'll be even more entertaining than this game was, so long as you go in with the mindset that the game's explicitly not going to be balanced.

It depends on what my game load looks like, but other than that, I'm in. I've always enjoyed a good Mastin game.

In post 1916, Mathdino wrote:
any advice on my play anyone? (i'm sure bulbazak has something to say here)

Nope. I'm good.

In post 1924, mastin2 wrote:
Also, I want to ask you as players: I'm seeing pretty good feedback for the game, which is a good sign, but there's something I want to know. I know that, for ME, sitting in the mod's chair, this game was so much of a blast to have been a part of that I'd definitely call it a Game of the Year contender, but I'm biased as the creator of the game and having sit from a point of omnipotence. So was it just good-good, or was it amazingly-awesome-good? (GOTY contender.)

I found it to be very enjoyable game, and it was one that I looked forward to posting in. It was definitely worth being my first game back from hiatus. I don't think it's GOTY, though, as I've played in much better games this year.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go mope in the corner for having figured out Nazerene and Sonic and then backed off.

I haven't forgotten about modnotes and whatnot for this game. Just been coming off of vacation. So I WILL be getting to you within the next couple of days.

In the mean time, just thought I'd put this forward:

Unbalanced Mafia 2:

Twice the size, three times the imbalance...

Large Theme, 27 players, bastard.

(I'll have to check with my mini theme to see how many pre-ins I have, but I can take 13, and needless to say, I don't have that many.)

COMING SOON TO THE LARGE THEME QUEUE NEAR YOU!

"You're insane!"

Yeah, that's what they all say.

"They're right!"

Don't worry. I know people; it'll fill.

"Getting it filled wasn't what I was talking about!"

Pfft. If Ceph can run a game that size seriously, then I can run a game that size as a joke.
For pre-ins from this game, I have EddieFenix, Mathdino, Bulbazak assuming his game-load isn't too high, and maybe DGB. I could always use confirmation.

My game load's looking fine now. I'm keeping the pre-in. I might talk to Eddie and see if we want to hydra or stay separate for this one.

Signups for the sequel game.
Swear I haven't forgotten this one, though.
