I do think it has the unintended effect of indicating a sort of cult-of-personality that I'd rather not have be a thing.

The whole story is that I would often tell my friends about old mafia games of mine and the absurd plays and other interactions that would go down. I almost always have a tab open for the site, so it became a common point of conversation. We'd go out to dinner and friends would ask if anything funny or neat happened in mafia lately and I'd tell them about whatever game I had finished most recently, highlighting where someone pulled a crazy gambit or whatever shenanigans I got up to.
One of my friends eventually decided to join the site, and he decided to go with that name as a joke. I thought it was kind of funny and I've been following his games ever since.

From my own hydra experience with him as well as what he tells me, mods almost always question who he is when he /in's for games.

Honestly, I felt the 'gimmick' was most hilarious in his newbie game, where most players felt they should shorten his username to 'Varsoon', to which he diligently replied, "I am not Varsoon."
