if it makes you feel better, i did have it narrowed down pretty much already. On January 5th in the scum PT:

I think the 8th doctor is in {shiro, rob, faq, bro, adaptive heap}

i just remembered that rob claimed jk, faq was replaced by cheetory, and of course now we know that broseidon is a neighbouriser.

so the 8th doc is in (shiro, cheetory, adaptive heap)

(not sure why aristo wasn't in that list; he should have been)

that was on night 1. I checked the timestamps and at that time, there were only 7 posts in the neighbourhood.

I had done a lot of my own crumbhunting during day 1. shiro was killed that night, cheetory was killed for the questions he was asking, i eventually remembered to add aristo back into that list.

This is one of those rare cases where I'm not particularly upset that I lost. Reads were good. Scum played well overall. Only thing I feel kind of miffed about is the mountainous setup, but that's more of a personal preference I think than anything particularly wrong with it. I felt bad for having a role that I think ffery imagined shenanigans happening with, but I just overthink things way too much as a PR and in this case I just thought myself out of doing anything at any point q.q oh well. My biggest regret is not dropping readslist during the night I died with my ability.

Yeah, as noted in the scum PT, some of the town flubbed a bit early by softclaiming or crumbing their Doctor number - and ruling them out as being 8 made it easier to narrow down.

In fact, on the night when Rob was killed, the actual intended kill target was Adaptive Heap but the mod missed the command. At that point, I believe that the 8th Doc had been narrowed down to 2 suspects.

I think I had like one moment where I questioned PK's motives, and I'm sad I never really thought much of it. I'll definitely be more paranoid of both of you as scum in the future, though.

I was going to soft, but that could be detrimental in this setup.
Also, as the 8th Doc, I would have claimed D1 so my death would do minimal damage. The later in the game it gets, the more antitown the role is, and the harder it is to protect.

Actually, not even mad. I was disappointed at town and sad I didn't get a chance to even post that phase.
Even if it had been a scum flip, I'd not have condoned it.

Also, I just read the Scum PT and I can't believe the behind the scenes thought and effort you guys put into this! Great play and lots of thought & planning!

I was pretty pleased I had you think I was scum/SK for being so on point, and that I became a very strong scumread.

Yeah, it happens. I get being pumped and stuff.
But it hurt us a lot, losing that day of conversation (which I often take for granted).

I must admit Ari, I did smile to myself when you decided to look through my ISO for false associatives in the hope that they would lead to help extra reads, since I'd purposefully played against that to trap people who attempted it (e.g., I suddenly started townreading Plotteh towards my death, something I'd usually do to town if I wanted to make them look like my scumpartner).

Just gave the PT a quick read! Can't quote stuff so I'll just say some thingsssss

1. You said I'm a sweetheart! Awwww you too <3 I hope i wasn't too loud of a slot for you

2. I'm actually such a huge fan of your chart, for either alignment (it would need adjusting obviously to make it work for town, but it's still really good). I often find myself with foot-in-mouth syndrome because I had mixed up two players in my mind, or it's been awhile since I last really looked at the game. That thing is perfect, well done. [

Is there any way you could send me a copy of that formatting, since i can't quote from the locked PT? I'd love to try it out sometime]

3. Reading through the PT I realized something about my townplay, especially when I replace into a slot like this; Something I'm really good at is looking town, and sometimes I get more concerned about people scum reading me, than actually looking at the motivations of others. I feel I made a good effort in turning my slot around, but then after that I think I got lazy, [e.g. the Soren lynch]. Had I followed through a bit more, I may have looked deeper into Mala/Plot and seen what I needed to see, possibly. Maybe not; they played really well. It's a good thing for me to keep in mind for the future, though.
