I just don't agree. I know in theory, you're correct, but it doesn't play out that way in practice. I
are games have a different dynamic that lends itself well to third parties. Minis don't. A mini is just a large with far less power that went through a few lynches already, but without the optimal scum/town ratio an SK prefers.

Maybe it's bias based on my past experiences, but I've always found third party to be much easier to legitimately win in large games, especially role madness ones (tons of power)

Well, now seeing that the game doesn't end once the mafia are killed, imo the mafia had the best chance of winning, followed (fairly closely) by town, and then a distant SK. There is absolutely no way that town would hand over all their dragon balls to a 3rd party SK saying "Oh no trust me guys, I definitely win with you!" while at the same time, if he doesn't get all the dragonballs, he starts killing to get them (playing to his win condition), town lynches him. There were really only 2 ways for him to win. Not get picked out and lynched by town OR killed by mafia, and killing everyone else/surviving until Lylo and winning Lylo (usual SK) or to convince the town that he's towny enough to receive all the dragonballs, while town was super protective of them, and without dying to mafia for having a lot of them. I don't think I really see many games coming out of this setup where the dragon is actually summoned, and I'd bet 75% of the time, it's the mafia summoning it.

(Also to note I was thinking about the marathon game where I was a Jester, won by being hung, but also won with town, so I could just survive to the end as well)

Okay so question.

Why is it harder for an SK to win? I just dont get it.

Why is it harder for a 1 man scum team to win than a 3 man scum team or a 9 person town? Because that's what an SK is essentially.

I mean, balance wise, a 2 man scum team is weaker than a 3 man, right? What sets the SK apart from the Mafia, ability or other balance wise?

Don't take any of this as an attack or anything, the game was very fun! I'm glad I was a part of it, and the modding was great (ty mods)

For me, I find it easy because you dont know who the scum are, so you can play like a normal townie and hunt scum with the bonus of killing people.

like SK isn't mafia and I don't understand why an SK can't just blend in apparently

Well because there are 2 kills going on. Best case scenario with that is that you get pegged as the town Vigilante, and that often gets you leashed and essentially takes your kill away from you and gives it to town (and if you don't follow town's wishes, they'll probably lynch you). Or you could lay low until near endgame, then start killing, which I think is probably the better strategy.

Okay but there was no gunsmith this game, or really any investigative, so how does SK get pegged?

The same could be said about mafia then. The same way scum does. Just general scum hunting, or forcing a claim at L-1, etc.

To be fair, the sk was protected, had more dragonballs and an easier win condition

Yeah, 1-shot bulletproof is nice, but how is the win condition easier? Did mafia have a wish to win the game?

So I gave SK a way to win without having to be the last one alive. Simply obtaining the dragonballs would have helped.

Yeah, that's all good. Probably wouldn't happen, but I doubt the dragon gets summoned in many games anyway. Did Mafia have any factional use for the Dragonballs?

They almost got them. If they wished back Majiffy, they could have won.

I'd argue that the remaining scum being obvious was a far greater problem to me than majiffy being shot or the game being a mini instead of a large. Scum shooting Socrates N2 didn't help either, I predicted they would shoot a50.

Or Not Chara. I wanted to kill either a50 or not chara but I couldn't risk scum not killing Socrates, so I was in a dilemma.
