Much prefer this vote over Spolium, for the moment, although Spolium holds second place in my heart.

I'm not going to type that much on Day 1. In order of scumminess, with
some

Stef: made great strides in a couple of his most recent posts.

lol, my bad. Completely missed the unvote. >.>

Revised list:
Cephrir
Spolium
Stef
Adel
Simenon

I don't really feel like voting for any of those first three... I guess Cephrir if that wagon needs the steam.

For now, I want to kill the incredibly scummy Pyromaniac.

I'm going to break down the post that really spells out scum Pyro.
Pyromaniac wrote:Vote: The red Severum

The above may be enough. He's basing a vote on a ridiculous and vague hypothetical.
Although self-voting anytime is scummy, it does not seem as scummy as a RV not in the RVS. FoS: Spolium
Then he's following along with all the heat on Spolium, but then calls Red's actions worse than Spolium's self-vote. Red is obviously very new to the site and his vote, from what I can tell, was not random. Here we have Pyromaniac making up a reason.

Pyro's latest point is shoving aside the second part of the above post, and I don't like that one bit, either.

Someone needs to sell ice to this eskimo for me to see the big deal about Achilles. I'm going to go check this last game he played.

Alright, I don't have all the time that I want, but I really should start giving more opinions. Here are my requested thoughts on Simenon:

For the most part, Simenon seems GG. He shows that he takes the time to read and is usually clear in his points. I'd only be concerned about him if muzz (not likely, imo) or darkstrike (more likely than muzz) came back as scum, because I see them as possible partners.

Since it's pertinent, I'll look at Cephrir. I didn't think Cephrir was so terrible until he tried to go back to Achilles. I'd place him in my "have no problems lynching him category" - definitely not pro-town, and a good shot at being a BG. As for partners, Empking seems way obvious; Cephrir attempted some sort of distraction with his Achilles vote.

I'm getting to the other two (three?) soon. Promise!

I think last words are always the last call. I'm not voting Cephrir...
yet.

To Cephrir: I too have problems with "free passes," but I think Elvis' case is more of a read than an actual free pass.

Elvis was too confident in being vocal to be anything other than someone who comes up town to investigations. I've got Elvis as a townie or SK - SK is best played like a townie anyway. I very heavily lean to townie, just because that is a lot of pressure to act that way as SK.

I'll go look up the other players I am supposed to post thoughts on and complete those first. Then I'll do the same for the remaining players in the game.

Adel: I'd say I'm confident in my assessment of Adel as a GG. His early play is very strong, and I don't think scum would go through the lengths he has to convince us of the importance of traps. I don't feel there are strong partner ties to Adel; weak partner links are... Simenon, I think. But that's really tenuous, as I don't think Adel has any partners to begin with.

I am ready, willing, and able to hammer Cephrir - final thoughts are appreciated.

Votes that stick out to me in these Day 1 snapshots are mainly those not involved with either wagon:
Infection
tajo

Based on voting patterns alone, the above raise the most suspicion.

Now, looking at the Pyro lynch (the following are musings, NOT guaranteed to be in chronological order - again, just looking at the snapshot for now):
Spolium moves from Not Voting to L-1 Pyro
Adel moves from Pyro to darkstrike
Erik moves from Achilles to Not Voting
duckduck96 moves from Achilles to HAMMAH Pyro

From the above, Spolium looks good, duckduck looks clean. Adel definitely tripping some alarms, but maybe most interesting is Erik's unvote of Achilles. I need to reread the sequence of events, but to me and based on the snapshots (ran that word into the ground, sorry folks), I'm getting a dirty read on Erik because of this.

Pyro's fab four:
inHimshallibe, The Red Severum, Empking's Alt, ekiM

Empking jumps way out at me.

Now, looking at Pyro's wagon, I'm looking at the "transition chunk" as a place for scum to try and get their vote noticed for the better:
Adel, elvis_knits, Darkstrike_11, Simenon, Achilles

As noted, Adel leaves this group - scum marks for Adel. I see no way that Achilles is scum. This leaves elvis, Simenon, and darkstrike. Simenon came from Achilles to Not Voting to Pyro; elvis and darkstrike from the Achilles wagon directly to Pyro, I think.

Simenon's unvote seems pro-town. elvis' play this game seems pro-town. Of the three, I find darkstrike most likely scum. He is right before Pyro in voting for Achilles, is the second to last (Cephrir is the last in the wagon jump) to wagon Pyro (duckduck's hammer excluded), and Adel also votes him while coming from the Pyro wagon (I've already noted Adel's negative marks in this post).

Heh, guess I found a partner for Adel after all.

tl;dr
BGs

Adel
darkstrike
Emp
Erik
Infection
tajo

I'll actually do some reading and place a vote next. That comes later, though. Sleep now.

ErikTheRed's shoddy play today is noted.

Simenon's post was terrific. I had said Adel's wagon needed to be run today because I thought many more felt the same way, but now since I posted that the posts in-between indicate the ones calling for Adel's lynch are also high on everybody else's scum list, including some I indicated from the voting records.

I need to reread on tajo.

That was a joke to highlight the "mindless defense" bit. If I really thought Badger was an alt I'd take it up privately with the moderator.

Yeah, I've been reading.

I see Sim-Adel connections.
If Adel gets lynched and flips scum I'll make a case on him. If he flips town then I'll have to reevaluate.
I've seen them too, though at the moment I'm reading Sim as Simtown.

@elvis, most of my suspicions of an Adel-Simenon connection started with the whole truth table deal. I can also see the back-and-forth they've had on traps as distancing, but since the onset of Day 3 I've also been reading Simenon as strong town.

Sacrifice? Cephrir was dead meat walking, and rightly so. In that light, I think claiming he's townie while hammering him was actually a fairly productive way to end it.

Unvote, vote: Erik

He was the only person not voting when Pyro was lynched. He has some interactions with and about Adel on D2, but never calls her scummy. At the start of D3 he suddenly suggests we should lynch her after Emp. Then votes her with a craptastic, misrepresenting, WIFOM-based reason. After which he neatly recites all the accepted reasons to vote Adel.

I think that makes him scummier than Zito.
This is some mighty fine posting. I went back and read his replacement post on Day 1, and the unvote seems forced.

His posts today have been pretty horrid.

Regarding the Erik situation, the answer to tajo's question can go either way. He said he has only completed two games, so it could be an honest shot at defense, or it may be scumbuddying. All I
do
know, though is that he came in and didn't want his vote on either wagon, and unvoted.

I consider Erik unresolved, but
unvote
. There is a more pressing matter.

Enough being cryptic. After thinking it over, it's just better if I share what I think. And I
thought
Adel's first post, given the way he has played the rest of this game, was a legitimate breadcrumb.

However,

I no longer think Adel would be this consistently defiant. I agree with elvis that he is using an appeal to emotion and is now shoving a personal attack on elvis to get others to unvote (if not elvis herself).

I'm looking through the counts, and I can't say much changes, besides Stef/nadroj15 looking worse.

tajo, Erik, and darkstrike continue to be the leading suspects based on vote isolations alone.

I thought Spolium/Papa Zito was town, but as elvis did, I dug through some of muzzz's posts. I found this in particular in addition to the behavior that elvis noted:
muzzz wrote:*blinks*

What dazzles me is your ability to single-mindedly rehash everything that's been said by or about Adel.
I called this spin earlier, but if a cop has a guilty, I definitely think this would be muzzz's approach to Papa Zito's posts.

And Poof - nothing more until 616 on the 15th, when he FoS's Adel and votes Cephrir.

However, between these dates he posts 21 times in other threads, making at least a post on all but two days. This did encompass N1, but still a marked trend.

And the rest of his posting record is similar: consistently more posting in other games than this one.

Following the easy trend (including reasons for votes), intentional lurking, and lack of scumhunting are reading very scum. Dark, could you please explain your silence? Why are you not participating?

Will pursue some more investigation into content tonight.

You have a point, I admit I haven't been participating as much in this game as another I have been playing. I don't blame you for accusing me, I'd probably do the same. The problem is I'm still a fairly new player, and the one person I really thought was scum (and tried to scumhunt) flipped green. I'm finding it hard to look for new suspects, and I guess I'm being easily swayed by the more perceptive members of the game.

As for other games, it should be game. I'm being accused of the same thing in another game in which I'm equally over my head. The one game I am posting regularly in is my first newbie game, which is easier to get a grip on.

So I'm sorry for not "participating". I will try and draw up a list of players with my opinions if you want. Although I doubt it will change many people's opinions of me. If anything it will give my opinions some potency when I flip town.
I'm not going to comment on you being newer - these aren't Newbie Games, and you know it as you have said. Welcome to the "big leagues".

I do have some advice, though - giving your thoughts on any-and-everything is one of the most helpful things a player can do. You don't always have to "scum hunt" in the sometimes daunting tasks of post isolation and huge relationship matching charts - just start thinking about the game in many aspects and you'll start to form opinions about the players within it.

Now that I've said that, please post some thoughts. You're not off the hook by any means.

Due to a few activities and the need for some sleep, I didn't even look at the site in the last two days. I'll be back to regularly scheduled posting tonight.

duckduck gets a town read to me because of the hammer on Pyro. If I recall correctly he could have lurked through the rest of the day (Pyrolynch was imminent, imo) but instead came out to vote, exposing himself in the process.

Could be wrong about his relative townness, yeah, but he doesn't move very far up my list.

I am taking a reduction in games due to the job search becoming a real complication in my life.

I will finish my modding responsibilities for Newbie 809, and will also continue the game I have the most time invested into, Mafia 94, but am asking for replacement in all other games.

I owe you all full details on my list, I know. I'm working on something for tomorrow.

This is a fantastic conclusion to a defense given by badger for himself. Tajo and Badger have used a lot of the same logic during this post war, and while Badger has recognized this, Tajo has not.

From that, I don't think Badger is scum. Tajo is in my top three.

The only reason I was voting Papa Zito was because I thought I knew he had been investigated by muzzz. The post muzzz made against Erik is equally damning. What I'm saying at the moment - I'm not sure about the investigation, so my vote on Zito isn't worth it.

I'll be back later before work to try and start summarizing my thoughts on all players.

I don't understand this.

Why would you unvote if it was the hammer? Unvoting after hammering does nothing.
My thought exactly. That post ramg completely untrue.
Pulling this up from Day 1.

dingo (Erik) didn't move their vote then, either.

I think it's time for

Updated top o' the list:

darkstrike 11
populartajo
Papa Zito

After an interview tomorrow, I may have time for more in-depth posting.

These two posts from darkstrike regarding Pyro seem to have some pretty good points against him, but he doesn’t vote.

http://www.mafiascum.net/forum/viewtopi ... 41#1705241
Later in the wagon, darkstrike makes this post – I don’t think it’s a very good point; it seems like a “uh, quick, I need a reason to vote” type post.

EB dissing on elvis’ votes is bad. Don't have a thing if you don't have your vote.

Re-evaluating my take on both - exploring the Could Tajo Be Town option - and following vote patterns yielded a curio:

With
20
players alive, it takes
11
votes to lynch!

So, EK, to answer your question even better - SPOLIUM is the busser. You were right after all.

Now it's just damnably curious that Tajo posted an earlier list, which no one else seems to be citing, missing both the one above and the final count, which were after Adel unvoted; implying that other list was the final one, Tajo nicely sidestepped the way Spolium managed to join at the tail end, when the outcome was glaringly obvious, but narrowly avoided having to be the hammer. Again with the misleading posts, very tricky this go-around though, I give you a hearty kudo, Tajo.

The lies and misinformation Tajo keeps using to get a lynch any way he can outweigh even the godawful attrocious self vote/V/LA of Dark (though, admittedly, barely). Leaving my vote where it is and playing the odds.

I'm sure others will read that as a tell, but since both Zito and Tajo have already taken the precaution of pre-emptively accusing me of bussing if I change my vote any action I take at present will be cited as a tell.
Fyi, I took this votecount from inhim analysys.

So massive fail, again.
Were any of my counts wrong?

Got to go to a background check. Hurray for a better-paying job!

The above would be all the off-voters on the Pyro wagon. I don't see all scum off of the Pyro wagon, but I still think there's room for two scum off-voters, and there are good odds of hitting one of 2/4. That, of course, would leave one on-voting scum teammate. I think we might have to cross that bridge after taking care of some of the mess above.

Vote's on Erik; I'm waiting on tajo.

I'll do some digging later; just wanted to start posting some more thoughts on the game.

- been looking back through the voting records, especially at the Day One lynch. His hammer yesterday means very little, and is WIFOM at best.

Second choice of tajo - elvis pretty much rode his jock all Day yesterday. She was pretty much confirmed town and it doesn't look so bad killing her.

Next, one of EB and Zito. Empking starting to worry me, he goes up here, too.

I'll be back with more during afternoon break. I'll try and develop some better thoughts then.

Don't lynch these guys:
NewAgeWarrior - the most Town of the ones remaining due to how Day 1 was handled.
inHimshallibe - hur hur hur

Wouldn't mind lynching:
Harumafuji - voting records are bad, and his name is being brought up a lot here lately. A chronic lurker doesn't get their name called too often if they are not scum.

One of Electric Badger and populartajo - there's no way both of them are scum, and I'm finding the odds of them both being town very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very small. I lean EB on early voting records (a lot of Infection's play), how the Adel lynch went down, and gut (his posts just don't seem genuine). They've both been hard as hell to lynch, though, and that's a better-than-slight scumtell, in my experiences on 'scum and Pack.

Empking's Alt - I've pushed for his lynch on and off, and wouldn't be opposed to go there. Several people have him down as Town for "Pyro interactions" - 'struth, those are pro-town marks - but his posts the last few Days have been questionable (is he really paying all that much attention?), and some of Today's have been downright sketchy.

Hell if I know:
JamesBond - lean town because of the Erikhammer.

Papa Zito - lean town because I find his hunting to be good.

IH - lean scum because I lean town on the two above. Seriously. I'll have to remind myself of this player slot's play.

I'll be starting from Page 1 sooner than later. Hopefully tonight.

Strange that I have two players with my trust and one with distrust. It actually makes me think Zito is more town for the call.

Right now, my list: tajo -> emp -> zito

That's the active scum.

Lurking... Harum -> IH -> Bond

That's pretty much off the cuff, though.

I think it's pretty obvious why the Nightkill victim was a lurker. tajo spells it out nicely.

Read the replacement pages. WarWound seems to be legit deer in the headlights, while semioldguy doesn't seem sincere. Amished seems townish.

I keep going back to poor early voting records for my gut on tajo. Also, I mentioned Erik more times (voting him two or three times before the Day he was lynched, I believe), and him calling me on that could just be lack of remembering, but it could also be misrepresentation of game facts.

And I
still
grumble about Empking.

As for PZ, it would really surprise me if he were partners with tajo, wouldn't surprise me if he were partners with Emp or semioldguy.

Yes, I have earned a terrible record of lurking, but I think I hit some pretty bright spots in games I play. I play a lot on gut, and fumble over reasoning at times which only gets me in trouble.

My top three scumpairs that have not been researched on their in-game connections, only some individual analysis:
Tajo-semioldguy
Tajo-empking
empking-semioldguy

WarWound is town. We do not kill WarWound.

This is our ham mantra.

Amished looks very town to me not based on his arguments but his attitude, Papa Zito. He is hitting hard and fast and (I feel) genuinely looking for the scum. His recent attacks on WarWound are misguided but zealous, and these also give him some town cred.

semioldguy seems more guarded about his actions, which is why I suspect him the most out of our three (new) replacements.

I am still going over old information. tajo keeps coming back to me in quantitative analysis (early voting patterns, night kills, etc.), but I need to do everyone justice and look qualitatively (actual posts).

L-1, really?

One of those four are certainly scum, I feel. Take out WW.

I assume you're claiming "Townie," PZ?

Well, onto the hunt. God, Emp just rubs me the wrong way. His first post of the game voted for dingoatemyErik, which is... coincidentally a scum? Maybe not. Some of his other votes are hidden amongst wagons, pretty easy votes with equally easy reasoning.

But Emp fought with elvis. I don't see scum, no matter how dumb, fighting with elvis in this game. She was so clearly town... it just doesn't make sense.

That's some cursory digging on Emp. Going to play board games with the Fam, be back later to look closer at Emp and onto other people.

Damned if my paranoia isn't telling me that this focus on the Cephrir wagon is a cunning way for scum partners tajo and oldguy to skate to victory. Then again, it doesn't make sense for tajo to be against oldguy, as this would seemingly make him a Night target.

If it were only oldguy making the attack, I'd be more concerned. I
do
think we have a scum between the two, though, and currently I'm more concerned about tajo.

OK, so reading back, Badger's play really is
that
awful. I see it as more of a nulltell for both Zito and tajo to have attacked him.

I need something more than maybes, though. Back with more later.

Alright, in my reread so far I have done iso on Emp, partial iso on Papa Zito, and am working my way through Day 2.

Spolium/Papa Zito - town read, leaning strong town. The wagon on Day 1 seemed all over a poor townie. Also, Spolium comes close to a gut town read from me. Not quite obvtown, but really, really close.

Based on Day One alone, Simenon looks a lot worse - he spent a good majority talking about RVS, what was jokey, what was serious, etc.

Emp - the next step in reviewing Emp will be to review Muzzz, and to see how likely it was that Emp was an investigation. Right now I'm pretty neutral, leaning scum on gut, leaning town on other influences.

PZ, the quotes you gave concerning Simenon show me hesitation to vote Pyromaniac. When I read back through games, I see votes as law, and he didn't give his here.

But, now I ask you, do you see those quotes differently now, too? Can you reconcile your vote of semioldguy with what you posted before?

Emp, give us a scumlist, along with your most likely scumpair. You've not given us much along these lines of overall thoughts. War Wound, we could use some sort of ranking from you, too.

Amished, I never said I had a gut read on Simenon, but I did get a "not helpful" read on him, and I think of Simenon as a player that is generally helpful. If I had to point to some posts that really didn't "feel" right, it would be the following.
Simenon wrote:
Pyromaniac wrote:I checked the vote count, not the number to lynch.
Is anybody buying this?
Simenon wrote:Tajo: I consider there to be good reasons for them being scum independently, but not together. I'm leaning towards Pyro, but a vote on him at this stage of the game would be useless.
I want to hear from Zito before deciding if semioldguy is going to be the best place to vote. I'm not feeling wonderful about voting this close to endgame alongside tajo, but that's still gut. I have some tangible thoughts on tajo coming up.

Papa Zito's last bit of posting is foolish at best, and scummy at worst. His change to vote semioldguy has begun to nag at me.

I can agree a scumpair of tajo/Zito is not impossible, but I don't think tajoscum gains anything from the way Papa Zito has played, and he probably would have directed him to stop.

Right now as I see it, that post was a monster, and very good. I think I've been reading this thread with some rose-colored glasses, and making cases fit to what I want them to be, not making suspicions out of each case. You've raised a lot of my original feelings: Simenon is good, tajo's votes are bad, Zito may be a guilty investigation from muzzz...

I need some more time to think.

There's still the Badger-Tajo-Zito love triangle to work through. Finding out who was manipulating whom will be useful. But the arguments with EB are a primary reason I do not like the tajo-Zito pairing; that just doesn't seem like a good place for two scum to team up. It's not like any of us really wanted EB to stick around, as he pretty much arrived in town with the noose already around his neck, looking for a nice gallows.

vote: populartajo - this is not bolded on purpose, as I just said I needed more time to think - this decision here is too close to crunch time for me to just bold and go. It is my gut, plus the poor voting habits, plus the Erik interactions, plus the jumpiness today.

Remaining Tiers of Scumminess, subject to change

Papa Zito

First of all, my B not posting last night.

Why, yes, I care to elaborate, tajo.

Gut is gut. I've said in the past that my gut told me one of Badger/tajo is scum, and it's not been disproved yet, so that notion lingers too.

re: your voting, I am talking about votes cast before the Actives were carrying every lynch.

And, finally, there are several occasions where you it seems like you were either nudging Erik to post something, or you were nudging your thoughts of him as pro-town.

BUT,

vote: Empking
- I mean, what the hell, man.

And to comment about my vote, because I hit Preview instead of Submit:

Emp's last post, as PZ says, does nothing but stir the pot. It's a pointless, non-scumhunting post and poor scum tactic otherwise known as a "distraction." Active-lurking, avoiding our problem at hand, whatever you want to call it.

Maybe I'm a bad player, but e_k isn't here to hold back my vote; someone else will have to convince me to move my vote Today, because I know Emp sure won't.

I'll probably be voting for semioldguy, as my current vote is not moving us to a more stable endgame - we as a town have bigger question marks than Emp. Reading and WoWing atm, will be back later.

Imagine that.

To me, I have three viable options, because even with WarWound casting shades of Pyromaniac, I have him as clear town.

tajo
Emp
oldguy

I will be going through each player pairing right now.

Oh my God, I'm sorry for the incoming wall of text. I'm just going to go through and give some spurious comments on isolated posts of whenever one player in a possible scumpair mentions the other.

First (because I have some time right now and tajo has a lot of damn posts):

Tajo-Emp

Tajo Iso 6
Lists Emp as Neutral Slightly Scummy, no more comment

Tajo Iso 20
Notes Emp voted Pyro after failed hammer

Tajo Iso 25 & 26
When Emp presses that Elvis could be SK and not Mafia with Pyro, tajo wonders if Emptown or Empscum would “go so aggressive.”
^^ Doesn’t draw immediate conclusion, doesn’t lean either way.

Tajo Iso 28
Lists Emp as Neutral after his analysis of Pyro interactions

Tajo Iso 31
Only a day later he gets to his conclusion of Emp’s little spat with Elvis. Finally classifies Emp as a silly townie.
^^ Definitely not hard evidence of a link as I originally thought as tajo was in catch-up mode. Though, his meta reasons on Empscum actions are kind of vague. Still, not too much. Moving on.

Tajo Iso 32
Asks Darkstrike if he really thinks Emp is more probable scum than Cephrir.
^^ This one is too easily spinnable either way. If tajo-Emp exists, this seems like false dilemma, but nothing really to be gained from this otherwise.

Tajo Iso 34
Defending Empking with a re-quote of his Emp v. Elvis conclusion.

Tajo Iso 35
Repeat of meta defense
^^ This time around was a bit clearer.

Tajo Iso 39
Seems to be firm town read on Emp by this point.

Tajo Iso 47
Tajo has a different say on an Emp lynch, as it is permissible for “distraction factors.”

Tajo Iso 49
Emp is back to Neutral on tajo’s lists
^^ Well, whenever tajo gave a list, Emp has been Neutral all three times. As mentioned earlier, it seemed tajo had a town read on Emp. Digging deeper…

Tajo Iso 54
Asks EB why he wants to vote Emp if EB only feels 50/50 on him.

Tajo Iso 55
Goes on about EB’s vote.
^^ Granted, EB didn’t play the game very well at all. This probably grates on my ‘dar because I don’t often defend other players I think could be townies outside of LyLo, just give them an obvtown read and go on. I like to look in hindsight at lynches and votes, and also don’t mind people voting for players I feel are town during that Day, cause I might just be missing something on a player. So, anywho, that was rambling and probably didn’t make much sense except to me.

Tajo Iso 59
Stoicly against EB’s vote. Blows off NK ponderings by Adel.

Tajo Iso 60
And again.

Tajo Iso 64
Meh, most of the above was against EB and not so much pro-Emp.
^^ I’ve heard Peruvians can be subtle, though.

Tajo Iso 65
States Emp is also prob town on gut.

Tajo Iso 78
Severalth ™ mention of the Emp pressure (on Day 4? lol no clue)

Tajo Iso 87
Again with the meta of Empscum lurking his way to endgame.
^^ Curiously enough, we seem to be in endgame, and Emp has done about as good a job (possibly better) as me at being “active.” There was the stint with Elvis, but besides that, has Emp really been that active? Have to consider this later.

Tajo Iso 90
Emp is now in the prob town section. Mentions his move of Emp.

Tajo Iso 92
More against EB who was against Emp

Tajo Iso 111
Disdain that EB did not mention tajo’s defense of Emp

Tajo Iso 112
Continuation of the argument

Tajo Iso 120 & 121
Has Empking as player fourth least willing to lynch.
^^ Prob town read again, as he includes fits Emp in-between Elvis and I, who he has had town reads on for most of the game to that point.

Tajo Iso 125
Mentions Emp as a person to prod

Tajo Iso 129
Rehash of some of his posts re: Emp

Tajo Iso 132
Snarky use of Emp (among others) in a way to combat EB’s poor rationale.

Tajo Iso 141
Emp case is stronger than Stef case

Tajo Iso 154-156
Again mentions that he stopped the wagon on Emp on Day 2, and defending that point to Elvis.

Tajo Iso 186
Emp listed as a player that shouldn’t be lynched.
^^ Been a while since tajo mentioned him directly. lol, that means nothing either way.

Tajo Iso 207
Asking Emp for some reasoning.

Tajo Iso 209
Disagreeing with Emp as to why Emp thinks EB is less likely to be scum.
^^ This wasn’t pursued very far.

Tajo Iso 214
Again prodding Emp for some reasons on Har/EB

Tajo Iso 217
More push for Emp to explain why he thinks EB is town.
^^ Interesting reversal of roles at this point. Tajo goes from defending Emp because of EB’s bad attack to questioning Emp why Emp has EB as town while tajo is pressuring for an EB lynch. Little things like these sometimes creep up when scum force themselves to interact with other scum. Well, I’ve still got several more isolations to go before I draw anything resembling a conclusion.

Tajo Iso 219
Emp still solid town for tajo.

Tajo Iso 220
Dabbles around with Emp on the subject of Harum
^^ Not much ever comes of this.

Tajo Iso 222
Doing some vote analysis. Has Emp colored as player he believes to be town. States scum more than likely bussed Pyro, a wagon Emp was on. States only one scum on the Adel wagon, which Emp was also on. States Darkstrike wagon was townie-powered, another wagon Emp was on.
^^ A lot of this doesn’t mean too much right now. Like I said, I need to go back and read later with players and the dead scum. Before I forget when I move on to tajo-oldguy, from this post right here it seems tajo is very much against the Simenon/JamesBond/oldguy player slot.

Tajo Iso 224
Asks Emp for some clarification

Tajo Iso 228
Has Emp as town

Tajo Iso 230
Persuading Emp to vote for EB.

Tajo Iso 232
More against EB, struggling here with Emp

Tajo Iso 237
Mentioned Emp’s jump to the EB wagon as quick
^^ Well, it seems to me that tajo had to work for an Emp switch – didn’t seem to be too much quickness about it.

Tajo Iso 239
States Emp is far from confirmed town.
^^ This makes sense, yes I agree.

Tajo Iso 241-247
Asking Emp about his votes. Asks him who sent the nightkill. Convinced (rightfully so from a town perspective) one of Emp, me, or Zito is tricking him.
^^ Scum poking at us? My brain hurts.

Tajo Iso 250
Emp is “Town read but not sure”

Tajo Iso 283
Emp is Neutral

Tajo Iso 294
Trusts his town read on Emp more so than on me

That Emp pressure was on Day 2, not Day 4. God, again with the brain.

Now, for the Emp side of Tajo-Emp:

Emp Alt Iso 10-11
Asks Pop why Elvis couldn’t be SK. Explains he was looking for reactions from Elvis when tajo responds.

Emp Alt Iso 14 & 16
“What Pop said has many possible interpretations.”

Emp Alt Iso 23
Piggybacks tajo to vote for Adel

Emp Alt Iso 31
Gut town read on tajo

Emp Iso 0 &2
Out of context, these are the most bizarre posts I’ve re-read this game. Emp is using something tajo said to say that Elvis was lying.
^^ This came in the middle with his scuffle with Elvis, after which tajo defended him and takes this heavily into account for his town read on Emp

Emp Iso 5
States Elvis’ “lies” don’t have anything to do with tajo.

Emp Iso 8-9
Telling muzzz he doesn’t understand why muzzz would say that Emp should vote for Tajo instead of Elvis based upon Emp’s interactions with the two.
^^ Hell, this might turn out to be important. Reading Emp Iso makes my head spin.

Emp Iso 23
Asks mod who tajo is voting. Why, I have no clue. Asks tajo who his suspects are.

Emp Iso 24
Then I don’t know what the hell happened here.

Emp Iso 35-36
Defending EB against tajo’s push

Emp Iso 40
Would be “surprised” if two of tajo, Harum, and NAW “and the other one group” were not scum
^^ Whatever.
Emp, how has this read evolved to the point where you are now?

Emp Iso 43
Votes tajo, states he wants a lynch

Emp Iso 45
Tajo isn’t the scummiest of four players, but is still scummy nonetheless
^^ Is this bad distancing? I’m about to give up.

Emp Iso 47
Barters for tajo’s life and votes Harum
^^ Convenient place to unvote tajo.

Emp Iso 51-52
Was this ever resolved?
^^ Weird if not.

Emp Iso 55
Pushing hard to just get a lynch, wants tajo to vote Harum. Says he could look at an EB lynch later.

Emp Iso 57
Now tajo is back to being town, in a town v. town battle with EB
^^ Ye gods.

Emp Iso 58
Asks EB who tajo would kill that Night.
^^ I can’t get for sure Emp’s read on tajo. This is at least somewhat more of a breakthrough than tajo’s ton o’ text.

Emp Iso 59
Talks of a tajo lynch the next Day

Emp Iso 66-70
Talking with tajo about IH and Bond being the scum.

Emp Iso 78
Calls on tajo and I to vote
^^ a noble charge, indeed

Emp Iso 80
One of JB and tajo is prob scum
^^ Now, I’m very willing to let people change opinions, but there comes a point when these changes make a player’s character unreliable, and needless to say scummy. This waffling… I have yet to decide if Empscum implies tajoscum. Still more reading to be done.

Emp Iso 84-85
Now tajo would have pulled the wool over Emp’s eyes if tajo is indeed scum
^^ This is like watching Far East Table Tennis.

Emp Iso 92
I think he is ordering scum here. Tajo comes first, then me, then oldguy

Emp Iso 94
Wants a lynch of PZ or tajo. Is voting PZ at this juncture.

Tajo referencing Simenon

Tajo Iso 6
Simenon listed as neutral slightly scummy

Tajo Iso 9
Asking Simenon his stance on Achilles

Tajo Iso 19
Mentions Pyro’s reasoning on Simenon and Adel
^^ Possible linkage of Pyro with Simenon

Tajo Iso 20
Comments on Simenon and the Pyro Wagon
^^ “Not liking Simenon here” – well, tajo is not liking oldguy too much now, either. A point against these two as a pairing for tajo’s consistency.

Tajo Iso 27
Pushing his dislike of Simenon further re: the Pyro wagon

Tajo Iso 28
TL;DR, lists Simenon as Neutral

Tajo Iso 30
Simenon:
1. has some townie valid points. has some points that arent that clear to me. Neutral.
2. bleh, i cant find any. me thinks that sim has doing a good job not tying to anyone.
3. seems experienced and concise.
4. invested.

Tajo Iso 31
Defending Simenon against a vote as a result of Simenon v. Adel and Adel’s traps

Tajo Iso 49
Simenon listed again as Neutral
^^ He mentioned some of his neutrals may move around after a reread, but there wasn’t a full list updated after this one for a while.

Tajo Iso 65
Tajo is answering to an attack that Simenon has launched against him.
^^ At least from tajo, my gut is telling me this isn’t a scumpair anymore. Still more work to do.

Tajo Iso 71
Pushing Simenon for more reasoning.

Tajo Iso 74-75
Answering more from Simenon.
^^ Solid town-like defense here, imo.

Tajo Iso 78
Lists Simenon as Neutral

Tajo Iso 87
More pressure on Simenon

Tajo Iso 90
Simenon as Neutral

Tajo Iso 110
Asking mod to replace Simenon

Tajo Iso 188
Goes back to Day 1, reasoning out Sim’s behavior between Achilles and Pyro
^^ By this point, I’m thinking tajo town, Simenon/Bond/oldguy scum, but there’s still a lot left for me to do.

Tajo Iso 222
Vote analysis. The SBO player slot could be scum. Bond was “disinterested”

Tajo Iso 223
Scumpair of Badger-Bond possible

Tajo Iso 241
Bond is the prob lurker that is teamed with active scum.

Tajo Iso 250
SBO neutral read, prob scum with Cephrir vote count

I’ll get to oldguy later. Sorry about last night, MNF put me to sleep.

Not sure a scumpair would vote each other in this situation. Given my previous analysis, I'm heavily leaning that the tajo-SBO pair is thrown out for me. That leaves:

tajo-Emp
Emp-oldguy
tajo-WW
Emp-WW
oldguy-WW

I'm not discounting WarWound on an obvtown gut read - go back and read stuff with Pyro and Erik and tell me you really think WW is scum. To me, that leaves, again:

tajo-Emp
Emp-oldguy

I don't have much time atm, got to be back at work in about ten minutes.

On second thought, I suppose I should've considered the inHim-Emp scumpair.

God I was sweating that hammer. Now, before I get in trouble at work, I'll just leave it at GG for now, ^5 Emp.

Night 1 inHim wrote:Any thoughts on kill targets?

My vote goes to someone that Spolium or Stef attacked, or to kill someone very suspicious of Stef or Spolium.
I sent in a tentative ekiM kill based on his question about the cop to the mod. I learned that Empking had sent in a kill on roflcopter. I says to myself, “Organization, good sir,” and proceeded to try and lead Nighttime discussion from then on.
Night 1 inHim wrote:Emp, did you notice any breadcrumbing by rofl?

He wasn't really around that much.

Let's get something to skitzer soon.
Erik meanwhile agreed that ekiM could have been breadcrumbing cop.
---
Night 2 inHim wrote: What do you all think of the game so far?

I think Adel is the cop. Check his very first post of the game.

But maybe we should kill rofl - it's a great setup of tajo, as there's so much WIFOM that is used as a defense. Did you see anything else in him Empking?
Never came back to accuse tajo of killing rofl, but other townspeople did use this “against” tajo.
Night 2 inHim wrote:
Empking wrote: If Adel is the cop we should definately target him.
Erik wrote: You don't think that was just a joke on Adel's part? Aside from that, I only see two decent targets: rofl and elvis.
I don't know if Adel is the cop or not - the way he has chosen to play this game, though, makes it more likely, in my opinion.

Cephrir coming up SK gives us a window of opportunity to run the town away from Empking. We need something for tajo to latch onto - killing elvis may scream so much framing that they ignore him as the play - then again killing rofl may lead the town down the road to a tajo lynch.

We need to kill the cop - we should go back and see if anyone has randomly mentioned us as acceptable lynches. I'm in the clear at the moment - there should be no reason for a cop to check me yet.

My best guesses for cop (starting with most likely): Adel, tajo, or muzzz. All three of them seem to be playing roled.

If I had my say on kill rankings:
1. rofl or Adel - throw suspicion or maybe hit a cop.
2. elvis - has to go; basically consensus confirmed town.

I want to hear both of your thoughts.
Erik wrote: Well, rofl is in both my list and your own, so, logically, he seems like a good kill.

I didn't see anyone toss out my name (though people find me neutral, and when I'm cop I tend to investigate neutrals like me), and I didn't see anyone not toss out Empking's.
So we killed rofl. Game-changer right there – we were tons o’ lucky. I knew then the cop had to start breadcrumbing his results hard, or at least that is what I began looking for.
---
Night 3 inHim wrote: I'm thinking muzzz, something about the way he came after Erik seems telling.

We really need to find the freaking cop. This is dangerous.
Erik wrote: I really thought Adel was the cop. I did some rereading, and couldn't see other players showing anything that screamed "cop" to me. Muzzz works for me, unless I think of something in the meantime.
Emp agreed on the muzzz kill.
---
Night 4 inHim wrote: OK, I think we need to take down Achilles. The pool of increasingly town-like players is big right now, so we need to dwindle this down.

I'm going to try and be a more vocal force during the rest of this game.

Game plan:
Kill Achilles Tonight
Let tajo, elvis, zito, and badger argue amongst themselves for another Day, hopefully really ticking each other off.
Kill one of tajo, elvis, zito, and badger. Preferably elvis or badger. If Erik is lynched, zito needs to die.

Erik, sorry, but my first post is going to be a bus. I don't know if the town will take hold or not. Just telling you it is coming. Whether you put up a good fight or just go for some semi-personal attacks is up to you.

Good luck, gentlemen! We've been doing pretty well for ourselves. Don't defend each other and at least one of us should make it out of this game on top.
Erik wrote: Thanks for the heads-up. I take it it'll be a more serious bus than your previous ones? I'm sorry I've been rather useless this game; I've been scum for my past half-dozen games, and it's hard to fake-scumhunt when you're out of practice doing it for real! But that's merely an excuse, and I'm going to try to improve my play some now that there are fewer players.

Yes, I agree we're winning here. I'm probably going to get lynched today or tomorrow, but Empking is practically confirmed town thanks to Elvis, and if you bus hard enough they'll probably buy you, too.

I don't see anyone else to kill tonight. Everyone else is either suspicious or necessary to stir up enough chaos in the town.
---
Night 5 inHim wrote: Alright, E, we need to take this game home.

I think we have to take out one of the big 4 now - eb, elvis, pz, tajo.

eb and tajo don't make sense to kill because they're spilling each other's blood in the sand.

elvis doesn't make sense to kill because she thinks we're innocent.

papa zito then?

Or should we kill someone like IH, NAW, or Harumafuji? I think leaving Harumafuji in helps us, if anything. Then again, he is replacing TRS, who is pretty much confirmed town if you think about it.

My preference to kill is papa zito, harumafuji, then whoever, tajo, eb.

I think we save tajo for another night, finally kill him off, and let elvis help us kick eb out.

Scenario for our perfect game:
ElectricBadger
elvis_knits
Empking's Alt
Harumafuji
IH
inHimshallibe
JamesBond
NewAgeWarrior
Papa Zito - kill him
populartajo

ElectricBadger
elvis_knits
Empking's Alt
Harumafuji
IH
inHimshallibe
JamesBond - lynch him
NewAgeWarrior
populartajo

ElectricBadger - kill him
elvis_knits
Empking's Alt
Harumafuji
IH
inHimshallibe
NewAgeWarrior
populartajo

elvis_knits
Empking's Alt
Harumafuji
IH
inHimshallibe
NewAgeWarrior
populartajo - lynch him

elvis_knits - kill her
Empking's Alt
Harumafuji
IH
inHimshallibe
NewAgeWarrior

Empking's Alt
Harumafuji
IH
inHimshallibe
NewAgeWarrior

and then we can quicklynch.

Let me know what you think.
I was pushing some crazy talk here, and Emp set me straight.
Emp wrote: I think Elvis has already convinced everyone and we're safe as long as she doesn't turn against us.

I think we should kill her so she doesn't turn against us.
He was absolutely right.
I entitled our kill PM to skitzer as “Mafia 94 – ‘it’s time’”
---
Night 6 inHim wrote: kk, so I think we kill TRS, or whoever replaced him.

Go one more day with PZ and tajo. Maybe they turn on each other finally. But whatever. Then kill anyone but tajo, and then hopefully lynch him the Day after Tomorrow (Day 8).

I'm going to let off on my heat of you.

I think we should probably push Harumafuji.
Emp agreed I should lay off the bussing. ;)
We noted to skitzer that our kill of NAW was “playing with fire.” We kinda were, but I had already resolved at this point that I was playing to clinch this game for Empking to win it for us.
---
Night 7 inHim wrote: OK, here's the situation:

We need one lynch.

Players left alive:
inHim
Emp
tajo
Amished
oldguy
WW

The options as I see them, in order of preference from most preferred at the top, to least preferred at the bottom:
Kill Amished
Kill tajo
Kill WW
Kill oldguy

If we kill oldguy, we are left with both Amished and tajo, which isn't good for us, I don't believe. Not much chance of winning Tomorrow.

If we kill WW, we throw in the heavy suspicion of oldguy and tajo together, and maybe we can escape between all the confusion. However, I like having WW in because he might accidentally hammer again or something. Possibility of winning Tomorrow.

If we kill tajo, we both have to be at each other's throats all Day, because of the highly plausible "at least one scum had to be active to send in the kill" theory. This does eliminate the best town mind in tajo. It also puts our chances of victory in really good hands if we sell our acting jobs correctly. However, I don't like putting us down a man intentionally, when we're so close to victory. Slim to no chance of winning Tomorrow.

Finally, if we kill Amished, I think we have a great chance to win Tomorrow, or make endgame so easy for you that you can breeze past any 3-player endgame configuration. Basically, tajo's going to realize that I am scum. I really don't think he will get that you are scum.

Since it is looking like it will be up to you to win it if we DON'T win Tomorrow, it's your choice who we kill.

What do you think?
Emp wrote: Ami definitely. (Good analysis)
inHim wrote: One last thing - what times of day do you check 'scum the most?

Trying to set up a potential quickhammer. If we can be on at the same time, we can swoop in for a kill.
Emp wrote:4-8 GMT
And that was that. I did want to suggest that Emp kill WW if I went home on Day 8, but Emp had sent in the kill and we were in Day before I logged back on. I do think Emp had fantastic chances at winning no matter which other two players he was left with.

All in all, thanks skitzer for a well-modded, enjoyable game, thanks Town for being tough (even if a lot of you looked scummy!) especially tajo, pz, oldguy, and amished at the end. Amished had me scared. Last, thanks to good partners! Way to go, guys. (:

Ah, and I just saw where muzzz did NOT investigate Erik. Well now, that's pretty interesting. I had noticed that playing with Pack had sharpened me to the scent of roleplayers, and I guess that could be a reason we leaned toward the Night 2 and 3 kills like we did, but maybe the rofl and muzzz kills were just pure dumb luck! The best kind! We'll take it, either way.
