Welcome to the happy little town of Riteville. As long as you keep your wits about you, and keep your wits public, things will be fine. It is common knowledge that your population is twenty, and that one among you can protect somebody on one night. It is also common knowledge that four among you want the rest dead. Don’t be stupid. Rules:

--Roles have been shamelessly stolen from Normal 5. Four scum, fifteen townies, one doctor (changed from a one shot doc). I don’t like information roles. Rules are standard mafia rules, found at www.mafiascum.net. Don’t be stupid, make sure you know them

--No stupid questions, lest ye be mod-killed. Any questions you ask me must be totally vital to the dynamics of the game, and must not be able to be answered by anyone else. If you aren’t sure if you should be asking me a question, then don’t ask it. I’m not joking about the mod-kill thing.

--Similarly, people who obviously don’t know what they are doing will be mod-killed. As will anybody who tries to play in a way that is stupid.

UPDATE: Usually, a player will only be killed if they do something "stupid" and it somehow doesn't hurt them. If a player does something stupid, and is jumped upon about it, I'll probably let them live. I like catfights.

--You MUST make

three

useful posts per game day. The term useful will be TOTALLY subjective, and up to the mod himself. A public tally will not be kept, so you will have to judge for yourself if a post is a useful one or not. Less than three useful posts a day means you are dead at dusk.

--Failing to meet a deadline for night choice results in elimination from the game. If the mafia fails to send me a result by the deadline, all remaining mafia members are dead. Go town.

--Deadlines, when set, are permanent, and will not be changed, through rain, storm, tidal wave, or second coming.

--All night choices should be sent via PM, as should non-stupid questions.

--Note that if your death is, shall we say, not noble, the reason for it will be posted in the opening post. For all to see.

The sun rises over the happy town of Riteville. The Townfolk gather in the village square, eager to get on with their day. Suddenly, they realize that four among them are no where to be found! They puzzle about this, until a big booming voice comes out of the sky:

There are those among you who have forgotten how to live a normal night-- check up on me before any activity happens. Three of you in fact. Two were for the success of this town, one wasn't. You won't be seeing any of them again. Trust me, you wouldn't want them anyways.

Murmurs expand through the crowd, until a hopeful voice shouts out, "Eh, but what about the other one?

Your all powerful god shrugs.

A quick search of the houses answers the man's question. NEHI was just in his room. His head was in his refrigerator.

What do you people want? I thought there's at least one experienced player in the mafia. It wasn't even my logic, Mojo said that in the first page. So I voted for DP because he is the most experienced person. It seemed better than random voting to me. Suddenly people start to bandwagon me. Do you really want to lynch me just because you don't agree with my logic?

And stupidity was relative. At least Mojo was actually trying to help, as opposed to our other dearly departed members. Same reason why I let Mathcam stick around .

And the first bloody day finally comes to a halt.

The town drags Mojo out to a lone tree with a noose around it, eager to proceed the lynching. However, it seems that only nine of them are present.

You guys are the only one's worthy to do the deed. The rest have been taken care of. Don't worry, you got a lazy scum along with the rest of the lazy townies

Neither is Leonidas. He was scum.

The remaining townies give a cheer as they realize only one among them is against them. And they know who is it-- Mojo!

They greedily string him up, and he is dead within a minute.

For one of the first times in the long time since I've played Mafia with Tigris, she has slipped.

And it has cost her her life.

That's right,

our scummy friend Stewie is the WINNER of Don't Be Stupid mafia.

I'd like to tell everyone "well played," but, well, you know how I feel . I am, however, quite satisfied with the result: those who I felt were detracting from the game were removed summarily, and the endgame was incredibly satisfying.

Thoughts, anyone?

Yep... the game isn't as fresh for me as it used to be, so I figure I'll take a month or too off to clense the palate. I'll still be a presence, hanging out occasionally down in General Discussion, and perhaps a Mish-Mash game or two (couldn't quit on Balderdash now).

Question for the players: On the last day, it was pretty clear that Tigris was the most innocent. Wouldn't it have been better to insist that Tigris be the only one to make three intelligent posts (and lynch whoever of Stewie and gslamm didn't abide by these rules)? Doesn't this force a town victory?

I don't know if I'd kill someone for utilizing this strategy, but I'd chastise them. The point of the "three useful posts" was simply to make sure that every posts what I consider to be a minimum amount each day. I didn't want any strategizing resulting from it.
