Setup

This is an open setup. You know which roles are in this game, and you know the role PMs.

Mafia x3

You are mafia with _, _, and _ as a treacherous lover. Every night you can try to kill one person by sending me a pm. You are allowed to talk to each other during the night. You win when every non-mafia is dead.

Treacherous Lover x1

You and _ are lovers. Unfortunately, you are on the mafia’s side, together with _, _ and _, while your lover is on the town’s side. When your lover is killed, you will not be able to bear it, and you will die together with him. But as a mafia, you will have to kill the whole town, so your winning condition stays the same: you win when every non-mafia is dead, including your lover. You are allowed to talk to the mafia and to your lover during the night. Your lover does not know you are with the mafia (yet).

Lovers x5

You and _ are lovers. When your lover is killed, you will not be able to bear it, and you will die together with him/her. You are allowed to talk to your lover during the night. You win when every member of the mafia is dead, including the treacherous lover.

Doctor x1

You are the doctor. You can protect one person against the mafia each night. You cannot protect yourself. You cannot keep a lover from committing suicide. You win when every member of the mafia is dead.

Townie x9

You are a townie. Your only power is that you are part of the majority of the people. You win when every member of the mafia is dead.

Rules

I will not extend the deadline because of Sacred though: he is away for 1 week, and when he returns there are probably many more pages for him to read then there are now. You'll have to do it without Sacred, and, if Jalyn doesn't replace, without Fernando too. Sorry for this, but this is what happens when a game starts around summer break. 40 pages is a lot for 1 day though.

Terrible mistake! I overlooked Jalyn's vote on the top of this page, with her vote ryan would have the most votes and would have been lynched, not somestrangeflea. I will contact Thesp or someone else for what I have to do now, you can change the night choices that are already sent in after what happens next. What could happen, is:
-nothing, somestrangeflea is dead and ryan lives for now.

-somestrangeflea will not be dead, but it is known that he's a townie, and ryan will be lynched.
-both somestrangeflea and ryan will be lynched.
-something else I didn't think of.

The town woke up after getting their needed rest. They know that the mafia probably killed someone, so they went to take a look. At the park, they found 2 bodies next to each other: SirTornado and Adel. It was not known that they were lovers, but now it is. SirTornado was shot in his head, but when they looked at Adel, they saw nothing of the kind. But when they took a closer look, they noticed Adel had a poisonous potion with her.

He wasn't shot, but it was a terrible sight: he hung himself up. In the letter he left, he explained that he could not live without his girl Numenorean7.

Another victim was found at a different place. You were all very surprised that he got a bullet in his head: it was your doctor, Xdaamno. "Who would want to kill a doctor?" Obviously this mafia gang is certainly something you shouldn't underestimate; finding out who the doctor is isn't easy...

Mod: IN the opening credits of the game, it is said that if one lover dies, the other lover dies 'with them', presumably at the same time.
When Sir Tornado was nightkilled, Adel died the same night. But when Numenorean7 was lynched, pickemgenius committed suicide the following night. Is this a discrepancy?

A lover commits suicide during the night his/her lover dies, or the night after the partner is lynched. After the lynch scene the day is over (there's only one death during the day), and town goes to sleep, so they only found out the lover committed suicide when they woke up again.

: I realise this is not the swiftest of games, but I don't think an eight day deadline in this situation is what's best. The game is 100 pages long; ordinarily, I'd be mostly okay with that deadline, but I think most of us need to do more rereading or similar than usual, or at least I do, and we've had no warning of when the deadline'd be. I'd ask for maybe a week's extension?

I also think it's important that you prod/notify the people who haven't posted in the thread after you instated the deadline: Bookitty, Ether and Erg0.

Right now, I'd vote for one of NabNab or Skruffs. I think Korlash fits well with them, but I really wanted to look back in more detail first, so I'll try to get round to rereading the entire thing today or tomorrow. Hm.

The town desperately tried to look for any scum once again, while they still did not find even one. After a long day of discussion, they thought NabakovNabakov was one of the scum. But after lynching him, they saw no gun or other weapon. While seeing their last hope of survival vanish, the town went to bed.

A blood-red sun is shining. With all hope gone, the townies searched for any deaths. When they arrived in Ether's house, they saw that her body was shot several times. Before they had any chance to bury her, 4 of them drawed a gun. Ryan, Korlash, Skruffs and The Fonz were no townies at all! Korlash shot Elmo before he could even say a word. Skruffs shot Erg0 coldheartedly. The Fonz said: "Bookitty, we knew it would never work. I am member of the mafia, and you are a townie. But I cannot think of having to live without you..." "But...", Bookitty tried to say before Ryan shot her in the head. The Fonz screamed, took Bookitty's body, walked to the cliff nearby and jumped, with her lover in her arms. Thus it was, that the mafia killed the town, and the Big Love.

Am I glad this game is over lol. It took such a long time, but modding this was still very fun. I don't think many of my future games will reach 100+ pages.

About somestrangeflea/ryan, I apologise for the mistake again. I'm sad that it affected the gameplay this much, but I asked the list mod and he agreed doing nothing was the best choice. If I had lynched Ryan and not ssf, you would have a confirmed townie, and ssf already talked to someone ingame after he was lynched iirc, so it would have affected the gameplay even more. Lynching both would be too drastic. As a town, you made the argument: "if ryan was the godfather, mod would not have left him alive". But the argument: "if ryan was the godfather, mod would not have lynched both him and ssf" is just as valid if I look at it objectively. Anyway, this is one more example that shows not to outguess the mod. Scum played a good game though, they deserved to win in my eyes. I think most of the town really tried their best though.

I didn't save the nightchoices anywhere, but I can look at XDaamno's pms in my inbox if anyone is interested.

so... what was horrible about the setup? Other than there only being one kill a night and a really long game with lots of replacements? How would you revise the setup to yeild a more fun version in the future?

I don't know if the setup played part in this, but it seemed like the town had troubles finding the scum, so I think making the doc a cop would have been more interesting. Although that would give the lovers less options if they're close to a lynch. Maybe add a cop and remove 1 or 2 townies, but all in all the set-up wasn't that unbalanced.

I'm... gonna go with protecting pickem. I have absolutely squat to go on, and taking out the lurkers and letting the town rip itself apart is a viable scum strategy, so I'll protect a lurker.

Still no clue. Going with Zindy tonight. If he isn't scum, he's a likely target.

Didn't I say YB & Zindaras were scum? Didn't I say I was town and I was being lynched for being active? BS strikes again. Happy I replaced out :\ (sorry mod).

No problem. I too got lynched for being active sometimes. I always wonder why lurking seems less scummy than being active. But this game was a bit too active at the start.
