Meh. That QT had a distinct lack of Yth-fear. My ego says you people are too confident and good at this game.
I'm happy that I had 3/4 scum by the end of D3. Gurgi might have fooled me for awhile but I'm pretty sure I would have voted him over CES or Ether in that endgame. As I said in the dead QT, even Xine was sure he was scum on the night before endgame.
I'm happy that Oldy and Geezer were both town wins. Yay, veteran hunters!Record:Town 10W/15LScum 4W/1LOther 2W/2LNewbie 1L

I enjoyed playing with you. We gave the dead townies heart attacks with our squabbling, but ultimately patience prevailed. Honestly, you just approach the game totally differently than I do, and it's a challenge to try to put myself in your head without preconceived notions about how things SHOULD be seen by a townie.Ether wrote:Sorry you had to put up with my shit on the earlier days, MBL.
Sorry, Ecto. Sorry, inHim. You guys kind of got shafted, and it was mostly by town.dialing in mildly protown reads since 2006- Ether

Nice work in the end there guys. Glad to see that the lights at the end of the tunnel did get seen eventually. Thanks for the fine modding and letting mestart the gamereplace in the first time the option came upreplace in at the end despite the fact that I turned down the option to play after getting it a couple times earlier in the process.

Yeah, that would require some sort of AIM account and me not being about to head out for drinks with friends (as I gave my last final today and my break starts now.) The second is the more pressing issue in this case.
You can talk about me all you like without offending me though if that helps.

This. I am super disappointed in the entire game after my lynch.CrashTextDummie wrote:The scum lurked themselves into defeat.
I was afraid I wasn't going to get lynched D3. I figured HH and CES would be relatively easy mislynches afterwards, but nobody else on the team put forth much effort. I've never strategically gotten myself lynched before, but IMO it could (and possibly should) have worked there.- Ether

This game proved that I had no time for this game anymore. My opinions on lurking is that =/= scummy. Initially it had no intent however it went from that to avoiding questions which implicated me badly, particularly MBL, then I got busy with exams and stuff again. As I have exams in May, its time for me to limit myself in what I do. I apologise again for the problems, I think I got better in the later game days. (at least I didnt get prodded more than once I dont think) but then I seem to be able to play better later on. I havent won a game in so long and I seem to be campaigning for better standard of play... I feel like a bit of a hypocrite. Sorry to Patrick especially, however I did love going after Ether near constantly. It was fun.Mostly retired. Unless you ask or it's something interesting.- Porochaz

This was a huge scum slip that Im surprised you didn't push me for and would have by extension put Gurgi in the frame. I disappeared for a while when I saw this. I just didnt know how to answer it without condemning myself or Gurgi.MrBuddyLee wrote:

Not gonna lie, Ectomancer did play a very odd game. Not sure he was shafted so much as dug his own grave - and I say this as someone who was pretty adamant he was town. Actually that whole wagon was super annoying. Like, there were loads of people being roughly vague and not giving many scumreads or whatever - the only thing making ecto stick out was his theory stuff and the fact that he got into an argument with yos, thus making him more visible than the alternatives. All those things conspired to make him frankly a pretty easy target, and although he was ok for a day one wagon (I GUESS) I still think it was poor that we forced him to claim that early. Every game I play from day 1 onwards has the same pattern - someone says or does something that makes them stick out, town wagons them (and possibly lynches them) and they flip town. At least defending someone gets me into the game day 1, I suppose. Ecto was by the standards of this game the day one VI lynch (even though he wasn't lynched).
It also masked some other important shit. Flameaxe and Untrod Tripod both played very scummy day ones that got lost in the sound and fury. That was partially my fault though, after I picked that fight with yos. I wish I hadnt done that, although at least it allowed me to get a solid read on Yos eventually. Anyway, a scumbag should have died by day 2, in all honesty. At that point there were even a number of townie who were on the right track, we just managed to either lynch them, vig them or ignore them.
I'm not sure about the whole glork/ctd copclaim thing. Other people had the right idea at least, but I guess I'm a bit naturally cautious for those situations. I don't see how the glork lynch really helped the scum that much. To me it made ether even more obvious town (if that were possible). It looks like the scum had criminally poor communication from the quicktopic. There's no planning, no assessment of threats, no power role hunting, nothing except a "who do we kill tonight?" "Ok the confirmed townie".
I scumhunted poorly, but I'm still surprised people thought I was scum. A lot of that was quintessential shanbatown tbqh. Anyhoo, glad town pulled through in the end and it was a lot of fun (except for exchanging walls with yos <.<).(10:50:24 PM) xcaykex: GODDAMNIT I DONT WANNA GET RID OF MY TENTACLE RAPE PORN

Thanks to SuperPatrick for super-moderation!
This was not an easy win for the town, it could have easily slipped away.
Apologies to CES for the alignment misread.
I really reallly enjoyed fakeclaiming vig for Ythill, there aren't many circumstances what would make this possible. (1) Ythill had softclaimed, (2) I could trust Ythill to "get it"
and not vig me!Paraphrasing a role PM takes seconds, fabricating a good fakeclaim takes an eternity.

Not until the last bit, you know where I kicked it up a gear and could have really used you in the last two days I was alive and you weren't there. We had more focus on us but you were a borderline lurker for most of the game as well.Lord Gurgi wrote:The thing about not getting lynched is you need to defend yourself. Interesting game.
I'm pretty happy about my town reads; all of my strong town reads (Stark/Ether, Goofball, CES, Ythill) were correct. My scum suspicions were a lot more hit-and-miss, though; only one I was right about was Glork, i was wrong about chamber and inhim. That actually seems pretty common for me these days; when I know someone is town, I'm generally right, but actually finding scum is a lot harder.- inHimshallibe

Nicely pulled out by the remaining town. I feel bad once again for being such a distraction. It seems that my insistence on Etherscum put me out there in a rather uncomfortable place. It wasn't until Glork spilled it in the QT that I realised I was going down the wrong path.
