Anyone who has visited Scum Street would tell you how accommodating everyone was there, how the overwhelming sense of community emanated from its very core.
Upon entering, one could turn to the left and see Nero Cain and Toon Fighter at Number 1 huddled together on their sofa. Directly opposite at Number 2 were 4nxi3ty and adorkable, gazing intently at a laptop screen, with Plan B next door casually glancing in their direction. Number 3 was the home of Cletus+Brandine, who had many delightful children and Cletus or Brandine would often be seen chasing one of them down the street. You could say that the 'leaders' of the street were the women of Numbers 5 and 6. PiggyGal15 and her husband Demon Core lived with their somewhat expressive teenager, DoomYoshi. Untrod Tripod and JacobSavage had two teenagers, Number Six and Senjai, who were quite expressive also. The street ended there, it seemed. A visitor could perhaps make out more houses, but something told him that they were merely an illusion, and certainly didn't exist.
Even someone who had lived on Scum Street for a month may have had a similarly naive perspective of their neighbourhood, but all of the seasoned Scum Street veterans knew that beneath the surface lay a street of arguments and feuds, misery and despair,
secrets and lies
. However, something even the veterans could not predict was about to hit Scum Street like an avocado on fire.
