When one witnesses the murder of a stranger or enemy, what ought one do? Mourn? Retreat? Gloat? Does one act differently if one is in public, hoping to impress or appear sympathetic? Or does one use this morbid opportunity to make known one's true thoughts?

Most of the Magistrate's guest chose to honor (or defile, depending on your point of view) his illustrious yet not entirely cherished memory by continuing the evening's festivities. Wine flowed into the partygoers as quickly as the river next to the Magistrate's estate ran down its course. This lubricant only made the evening more intense, more intimate, more Bacchanalian. And like the god of old, the revelers began to regard their masks as personas and sought to assume the fictional and depraved identities they created for themselves. In a dark alcove, two attendees were undressing each other. In the shadow of a statue of an angel, a large group broke into disharmonious and rather ribald song. Still others began reciting poetry in the torchlight. The more restrained and pragmatic guests continued with their political discourse, now made even more timely by the power vacuum the Magistrate's death opened. Few bothered to think about whether such talk was in good taste. After some time, a scream rang out over the messy cacophony of the evening. All those not intensely engaged (such as our lovers) ran to the noise, only to witness a gasping figure masked and clad in yellow clutching his throat, which was spurting blood copiously. Those nearest to him drew back to avoid the effluent, lest it stain their party clothes. As the figure fell to his knees, a voice whose source was concealed by the aforementioned anonymity intoned, "Murderers will suffer the fate they deal to others." The guests could only hope that their collective action had found an appropriate target.

Despair over the fruitless death yesterday subsided when the musicians started to perform in earnest, drawing the guests' attention in true Orphic fashion. While the lutenists and harpists were entertaining, they were present only to maintain the ritual order of performance, mere placeholders until the magnificent focal point of the musical program arrived. Yet they did not arrive: they materialized, unseen until they started streaming through the guests from all directions, converging on the center stage. Even then, they were barely visible in their black robes and cowls. Of course, this was hardly an unexpected sight: when called to provide entertainment for the most illustrious, the city choir elevated its art to a transcendental experience. Part of their specialty was to disembody their voices through constant movement and camouflaged clothing, drawing the listener's attention exclusively to their music. They succeeded marvelously, enrapturing the audience completely with their strange music. Harmonies and consonance drew the audience in but soon yielded to almost atonal passages, building to a cacophonous crescendo that both unsettled and captivated the revelers. As the choir released from its climax and sank into a soothing harmony once again, some of the shrill voices remained. Those near the stage looked around. The choir stopped. Two corpses lay on opposite sides of the stage, their deaths having been obscured by night and song. The choir members leaped off the stage and fled; this was far more than they had agreed to. Yet when the guests sought escape as well, finally realizing that this evening should come to an end, they found the gates locked and the barges gone. Either they would unmask the killers, or this masquerade would prove more dangerous than even the most ill-behaved guests had expected.

Aneninen,
Town Neighbor
, has been killed Night 1.
Egg,
Town Neighbor
, has been killed Night 1.

Day 2 begins now. With 18 alive, it takes 10 to lynch.

Anenien was very prominent in our neighborhood last night, along with Iz. I claimed that I have a protective role in the thread, and also asked who people thought would be worth protecting.
I did not claim any role, nor will I be doing so toDay
. The way I said it made it seem like I had a limited use, which Iz pointed out in the thread also. I feel Iz thought he could get some town cred by not killing me after I claimed that I was a protective role, since he most likely thought I was just some noob not knowing what to do, and since he thought I slipped that I had a limited power role, he'd be fine not killing me. I expect there to be at least one scum in my neighborhood, since we are the biggest neighborhood, and Anen is now dead. Goodmorning, Shiro, and Iz have at least one scum there, and I'm banking on it being Iz.

With 'in the thread', you mean in your neighbourhood?

If I had a question I would have asked it. I had a vote, I placed it.

It's very believable that a 5 man neighborhood has
at least
one scum in it. I find Iz scummy.

We also talked a lot about Egg, and how Egg targeted Peregrine yesterDay. We talked about how when there's only one person left in a neighborhood, the last immediately becomes an "auto FoS". I believe Egg was killed to setup a mislynch on Thor.

Just ignore the hoods.

Aneninen also mentioned some kind of plan to build a wagon on Iz, and he died. Someone in my neighborhood is scum.

There's 12/21 players in a neighborhood, and there's probably a 2 person neighborhood that we don't know about yet. With the info we know, it makes sense that Neighborhood #3 (Egg,Thor,Pere) probably doesn't have scum in it due to it being an obvious setup for a mislynch. Neighborhood #2 (the one with 4 people) I have nothing to say of right now.

You should assume the hoods are random. Anything else is just bad.
