Endgame

The jig was up - he knew his time on this earth was coming to an end long before, but he didn't think it would be so soon. His words did nothing to sway the angry mob rushing in to take him to his demise.

The elder raised his dagger and looked up at his implement of death to realize that the clouds above were parting to show a bright light.
The elder stepped back as the final victim was consumed by a pillar of flame cast forth by the very heavens. He shielded his eyes for a moment, until the pillar dissipated. As he lowered his guard, he realized that the skies were completely clear and the constant rumbling of the earth had vanished.

They had beaten the storm at it's own game. They had won.

RIP was lynched, he was a...
