Probably time to share what I was thinking. Scum have a LOT more to lose by getting shot than town do. So I think the PRICKS are likely to contain at least a few scum, probably more especially if there are multiple teams.

Gonna go back and look at the circumstances surrounding people joining. I may be willing to take a shot in there even knowing that it will get me shot-- although I'll definitely discuss and not just yoloherotime it. (Because that has worked out so well thus far.)

Can see the point, but also are scum likely to circle up and draw a massive target on their head? Especially with 12(?) townies already dead? Scum don't really have a LOT more to lose from getting shot anymore. Not to mention, I've made clear that it's protection from random shots only, we will be killing within the group. It's only scum dominated if town decide to go it alone, which is quite clearly NOT working.

I think it's a lot closer to removing a target on your head, the target being the threat of a random kill. Discussion-based kills are a lot closer to lynches which is something you can actually fight; if you get randomkilled, there's nothing you can do.

And just because town lolshooting isn't working out... doesn't mean they're going to stop doing it.

Discounting the Chickadee shot because I don't think that was as widely discussed as the others, those were not bad shots. They were on players who would never have been allowed to live to endgame anyway.

Of the players alive, Iconeum is universally near the top of the list for those who people do not think should live to endgame.

Thus, even if town, he is not a bad shot.

is scum, I just haven't found a lot of reasoning that explicitly points to that. I've stated multiple reasons behind my recommended shots and nobody's given a major opinion about them. I'd rather see people actually state their thoughts behind someone-scum versus

"yeah, I want him to die"

I don't actually think he's incredibly likely to flip scum-- as in, I wouldn't be surprised if he flipped town.

But the argument for shooting him is just that it's very unlikely that, if he is town, he will ever be able to get to the point where people are confident he is town.

In a nightless game, you deal with the question marks sooner rather than later because that's the only way to weed out scum hiding in the townreads.

After worst's shot, I'm treating any further shots until we have anything worked out a scumclaim, and the reason is that I'm pretty sure we can break the game, even if we don't have majority (though we probably still do, given that one scum faction is almost certainly entirely dead).

Basically, the plan is:

we vote on a total ordering of all the players from towniest to scummiest.

The way to do this is probably to have each person form a list and then combine the lists by assigning each position on the list a point value.

Once we've formed the total ordering, the second-lowest player shoots the lowest player, and then the third-lowest player shoots the second-lowest player, et cetera. Shooting someone else or sometime else is of course a scumclaim.

In this way, no matter how many scum there are, we won't lose unless the towniest-ranked player is scum.

Now, worst's shot complicates things as it basically forces him to be placed at the bottom of the list, unless we want him to ALSO survive until endgame. If he has any more vests left, it's even MORE of a problem.
